That's exactly right. The joke is on the racist woman, and that's what makes it funny. We are laughing *at* her racism. It's similar to how Al Murray makes "offensive" jokes but the joke is deliberately on him
As a person of color, I find this quite hilarious. This whole BLM thing has been taken out of proportion. It's obviously a mockery of the instructor (Marjorie) being racist The others in the class understand what Meera is saying & so do us viewers.
People think the UK was more racist or something in 2004-2006, Little Britain was a parody of ridiculous stereotypes, taking each different character to its extreme. Gay character - the gayest, only gay in a village even though he isn't. Lou and Andy - faking disability. Vicky Pollard - the most vulgar teenage girl. Or the 40 year old man still breastfeeding... It's no reflection of people's opinions or the UK at the time, it's just pushing to the extreme of each character.
They should bring this back. I know it'll happen soon enough since they're bringing everything back nowadays. Crossing fingers that they do though because this was such an iconic show.
It’s a shame all of these fat fighters clips have been taken down. There’s a very strong power in satirical comedy that highlights bigotry and racism that seeps into everyday culture and this was one such thing. Taking it down is a backwards step.
