Watching this in 2020, we rescued a T- blood python from someone who couldn’t care for them anymore and he came in a tiny glass tank with heat tape across the entire bottom, no hide, a tiny dog bowl and mouth rot. Didn’t eat for months but he is finally recovering and looking great. We named him puppy and he is a ham!
Kevin got me addicted to blood pythons. I now have t+ albino batik, t- albino matrix, t+ albino ivory, t+ albino batrix, and the best 007 I’ve ever seen.
Thanks so much! I'm rescuing one soon, a beautiful guy that's been at our local shelter for a while. I'm afraid their going to get rid of him, yet I have to wait until the end of the week. The poor guy is the only snake there, and whenever I see him hes hiding in poor setups, if you follow these. I think you're right with the 'scary name' part. No one was ever interested with this one, not even when I showed my friends. I cannot wait to rescue him, I have everything set up for him.
Kevin you mad man- I can rewatch videos like this all day long and still learn more from you- jeez man - whenever you get a chance we’d love to see more reptile psychology videos- keep up the hard work and thank you for the value
So nice to see this video about Blood Pythons. I have just bought a pretty Matrix T positive from you. She has not arrived yet. She will be my first Blood Python. I do have a Sumatran and he is doing very well. I love these snakes.
I love your tutorials! I got a Blood about 3 months ago and I freaking adore her. I'm loving the experience! I bought it from BHB who I think you supply with his bloods.
Beautiful snakes, I've been working with bloods for a few years now and they are relatively easy to tame out and can make great and sweet pets if given the proper patience and respect
When I first got my Coco (“wild-type” Blood) 6 years ago, she was about the size of the Albino boy you were holding. She is now 35 lbs of huffy sweetness!
Hi, I have to say that this snake is absolutely gorgeous. I am looking for my second snake (owned a corn snake for 15 years) and I am thinking of stepping into bigger snakes, and I'm thinking of either BCC, superdwarf retic or a blood python, but a blood python might just be it. I just love the way it carefully and intentionally observes its surroundings, as you said they seem really smart for a snake! I suppose that you don't ship blood pythons to sweden, or know any breeder that does?
I never take it personally when an animal bites me, I find I get better results when I just act normal around them. When you are nervous I think the animal can tell and it makes them nervous.
Kevin can you do a video on the difference between a matrix and a normal and maybe go into the genetics of bloods a little bit aswell but mainly how to tell the difference between normals and matrix?
Those blood pythons that you were holding, do they get any bigger. Also is it a good beginner pet? I have never owned a snake but have thought about it a lot, I recently found a blood python I fell in love with but if you think it’s a bad idea then I won’t get it.👍
I have 5 Ball Pythons & I am planning on giving my granddaughter, who is 6 months old, my 2 yr old Enchie, Yellow Belly, Pastel female named Jupiter -Star and my question is at what age would it be best for my granddaughter to start interacting with Jupiter-Star?
Hey I just have a couple questions how do you keep the humidity up in the bins ? Do you just use a big a nuff water dish or do you mist it as well? How do you do the ventalation in a tub as well ? I'm use tubes with lids on them if I drilled holes all the way around the tub would that be good ? Or should I drill holes in the lid as well ? Amazing videos by the way :) and of course mind blowing animals :) thanks for any advice you have for me.
I absolutely love your blood pythons 😍great tip to keep your fabulous noodle calm never thought it could be such an easy thing , I don't think I mind getting slammed either if I had such outrageously insane fabulous snake babies either (heck they can not eat much right?) lol wish you show more bloods one of my dream snakes kudos to you super jelly
Our Blood, who was about 2 y/o when we first got her and about 1/3 her current size, could be held easily. But NOW, she freaks out about being lifted and held. She is about 6ft long and 15 -17 lbs, so she just doesn't feel secure being held. We are very careful about supporting her body with both hands, but she's not having it. Any suggestions?
I'd love to see a video on the blood python market so to speak. Or really other snake markets besides ball pythons, dont get me wrong i still love balls and breed them. However id really like to see more info on bloods maybe how many people actually work with them in comparison to balls
Kevin, i would love to see some basic enclosure set ups for someone who doesnt have racks like you did with the baby water monitors (: love all your animals and videos very educational. I have always loved larger constrictors such as a columbians, burmese, retics etc but have a small home so i dont have the space a large beautiful animal needs, i have never thought about bloods but now you have me thinking and showing my wife videos (:
New England Reptile Distributors oh nice, had no idea since I'm not familiar with scientific names yet. Are the Argus usually as calm as the water monitors or do they tend to be more temperamental?
I feel bad for snakes kept in set ups like this. Yea they like to feel safe in there little nook but the whole set up is a tiny nook. They would prefer a moisture and temp gradient with some leaf litter and room to stretch out and move. But i guess when you mass produce them it’s easier on the keeper or breeder to just keep them on paper in a small shoe box.

Blood pythons seem like animals that if you respect them they will learn to respect you and understand you back
Not gonna lie I wasn't expecting him to strike out like that and I almost spilt my morning coffee 😂😂

I bought one of your T- Albino's couple of months ago and that snake is awesome and very tame... I love it. never bites and a good eater
That is WONDERFUL to hear, glad you are doing well with it!!!!!
New England Reptile Distributors I would love to look at animals you have available- link to your site?! Thanks!

Excellent advice about handling. If you approach them with confidence they tend to be more comfortable. Great vid.
I think your awesome! Thanks for teaching!! I'm 49 and I love watching your video's!!! Thanks🤗
I would love to learn more about genetics of blood pythons...
Thanks for this video, I love it, and I love blood pythons. The snakes that you have are beautiful!

What advice would you give to a first time breeder? I have a matrix pair and I want to see what they'll produce. Thanks.
I bought a 2018 Matrix female from NERD. She is so nice and eats well. Such a pleasure to have in my snake family.
Nice video and cool trick putting the snakes attention on something else. 😊
Both those snakes are gorgeous as well. Makes me want one.
Beautiful snakes

My bloods are puppy dog friendly from following the very methods you prescribe. Great advice!
Kevin, I'm a huge fan, Sense the 1st time I watched a video of you explaining to Brian Barczyc about monitors....
LOVE the BLOODS and the Shorties!!!
Great video and handling tips! Could you do some videos on your new baby ball pythons you've hatched out this season?
I never take it personally when an animal bites me, I find I get better results when I just act normal around them. When you are nervous I think the animal can tell and it makes them nervous.

Your blood pythons are amazing
I like blood pythons.🐍 Especially those golden eyes and magpies! 🤩
Should it really be at least 80 humidity..? I thought it was between 60-70% please correct me if I’m wrong, I’m still learning :)
Have any good quality red blood pythons brongersmai? For sale? Females preferred
Can you do a video where you show how you handle a blood python with both hands? So we can see what you’re talking about. Thanks.

If u compare this to a ball python hows the temp humidity etc
Lower temp slightly higher humidity and far more heavily bodied
This was very helpfull thankyou i subscribed 👍
Do you have a video about genetics for bloodpythons?
Love it, very cool!

Ok, I'm going to buy a blood python within a couple of months. Should I get a reptile tank or a bin with a lid?
Kevin, i would love to see some basic enclosure set ups for someone who doesnt have racks like you did with the baby water monitors (: love all your animals and videos very educational. Nice Video Kevin
Awesome video
I know you work with the Varanus Salvatore and a crocodile monitor, but do you ever get to work with Nile or Argus or any other monitor species?
I breed Argus but not Niles. Have Argus eggs cooking...
New England Reptile Distributors oh nice, had no idea since I'm not familiar with scientific names yet. Are the Argus usually as calm as the water monitors or do they tend to be more temperamental?
Love this video
Is there any websites sell that blood python?
Kevin, do you happen to have any angolan pythons or rough scale pythons you could bring us some videos of?
I have a few Angolans......... but I no longer try to breed them....... I will take a look.
New England Reptile Distributors awesome kevin, thank you. I would also love to see some more dwarf caiman action as well!

that golden eye is incredible. holy crap. do they ever tame down? or are they always pissy?
Yes, they can tame down for sure. I think if I had the time I could easily turn this into a confident calm animal!!!!
New England Reptile Distributors absolutely stunning Kevin. Thanks for sharing.
Badass bloods
Does spinning like that just making him focus on something else
