Renzetti Presentation 2000, the best vise you've never heard of.

- For whatever reason the presentation 2000 gets no shine. While it does have the same jaws as the traveler, it is so much more. A longer and heavier stem, bigger heavier base, as well as a ratchet feature and indexing points on the vise arm and stem. Holding hooks from #28 to 4/0 on top of the extras, it's tough to beat for the money. If the master vise and the traveller had a baby, this is it.

Best vise and best advice. Love this guy. Found him through huge fisherman, another favorite. Thanks for bringing fun to fishing. The one thing I hate about fishing is info with too many people that act like we r watching a serious junior golf tournament and quiet and slow and serious will catch more fish
Thanks for the kind words .
I appreciated your advice on my Traveler 2300 purchase earlier this year. This looks even better if I ever decide I need something more.
I subscribed!
Best day of my life !
stay Huge !!!!
Thanks James👍
Nice demo of the Renzetti 2000 series vices. I ordered the 2004-R this week and looking forward to using it as my first rotary vice. Thanks for the review!
Great presentation. Congrats on reaching 6K subscribers! You have the most informative videos out there, concise and extremely detailed. Most videos assume you know something about the sport. Hope you will do a series on the very very basics of how to start fly tying, materials, knots, loops, etc.. I am sure there are many many folks who would learn a lot from you.
Great review! I bought the P-2300 (black version) back in Nov so have been tying on it for about 8 months and absolutely love it! I was a Regal guy for over 30 years before getting the Presentation and now I use the Presentation at least 75% of the time. I still like the Regal Medallion for tying certain patterns where I don't need rotary.
Congratulations on the purchase! It is truly an awesome vise. At the time of this video I don’t think they had a black version yet or I would have gotten it. It’s crazy it’s not more popular. Really comfortable to tie on.
I really enjoyed this video. Been looking at this one for a while so your timing is perfect. The treat yourself comment hit home with me. Merry Christmas to you.
Thanks for watching , Merry Christmas.
That desktop! So Thick! No wonder you had to give up the traveler model.
I just found this review. This is my go to vise. I love the versatility, especially the hinged arm and stem!
Excellent vise, surprised it isn’t more well known. Recently got a master vise and it was well worth it. Review soon.
Excellent review- just the facts about an excellent upgrade from the Traveler vise.
Bought one of these a couple months ago and damn... don’t know why I put up with my Peak for as long as I did. The peak has solid build quality but the design of the Renzetti is vastly superior, especially for size 24 and 26 midges (even with the Peak’s midge jaws). Thanks for the no BS review that helped encourage my switch
Elite comment . Thanks for checking out the review and I’m so happy you love the vise! A 2003 Toyota Camry can get you from point a to point b but I’d rather pull up in the Ferrari.
Thats great to hear. I'm on a Peak right now. But I think this is the vise I'd like to buy next.
Great video I can't wait to get mine. Thanks
You’re gonna love it !
Looks like a good value option 👍🏻
Great ad vise!
I just bought this vise today.
i have the same vice, love it, it gets the job done
Such an overlooked vise .
Thank you!
You bet!
You convinced me I bought one.
I know you’re going to love it
I have this vise. I really like it.
Ratchet feature yay or nay ?
Some have called me sturdy with a great base...my jaws could probably use work.
What can make the renzeeti a better vise and everyone a better fly tier? Put on a AboutTrout hat!! It works for me!! Great video as always bro and I think huge needs a Miller lite
Absolutely elite advice 😂
How does it feel to be playing in the Super Bowl of best RUclips channels against Huge?
I like to think of it as the 1996 USA basketball dream team. Except it’s fly fishing
Your right a vise does not make you better but I can say I just upgraded to the saltwater traveler and no it did not make me better but I did want to tie more witch mad me better
💯
Wooooo!
Any video from u or huge that tell us which flies to start tying to master that will also catch fish. I feel overwhelmed everytime I start to try. It seems nice to hear like four flies or so to tie over and over again and have in my box to get good at and hopefully be able
To try one of the four anytime if the s year. Something like that. Thanks!!!
Black woolly bugger, pheasant tail nymph, San Juan worm, elk hair caddis.
@@HugeFlyFisherman thank u!!!
I second the huge ones list . Each of those flies will also develop good skill sets and techniques to build off of .
Very much appreciated and thanks for sharing! Personally, I own two of them, one at home and one at work. I absolutely love them and have been tying on my 1st one for years. To me, it’s the best on the market for the price and a worthy investment! If in doubt, just compare it to the cost of your favorite fly rod and the value of it. Shouldn’t your vice be as important as that?!?
Absolutely. The 2k seems to get no love but it’s packed with features and a lot of vise for the money. Thanks for checking out the channel.
Great review! Would you be willing to sell your left handed travler? I am looking for a travel vise and I'm a lefty.
My daughter ties in it now . I promise you wouldn’t want a knob on the jaws anyway.
Nice presentation. Can you tell me what light that is in the background.Thank You
Not exactly sure. Just a standard desk lamp.
Thanks for the review. Other than anodized, why spend more for this over the traveller?
No problem . Heavier sturdier base , taller , sturdier stem (more comfortable ), ratchet feature, two indexing points. By the time you bought a new base and stem for the traveler , you could have gotten the presentation 2k. The adjustable arm is really nice when tying big streamers .
@@AboutTrout thanks. The ratchet feature seems a bit gimmicky
Not to mention it looks wayyyy cooler. 😂
Some people love it some don’t . I’m the latter . I really tried to like it but who knows you may love it .
Hello I just bought a presentation 2000 I however tie lefty .
Could you please explain somehow which direction the ratcheting function should go and which direction the rotary function should rotate. I think my question is when you use the rotary function it should wind your thread onto the hook not off?
Thank you
It’s in your owners manual. I screw and flip the ratchet. Renzetti also offers right and left hand models.
@@AboutTrout ok thank you
Sleek indeed.
That's my vise. or should i say vice!!
Awesome.
Do you still have your traveler? Interested in selling it??
That one went to my daughter
Awesome! Super cool she’s into it! I bought a brand new one already haha awesome content!👍
Lost the rubber band😔
You can replace it with an O-ring but not sure which size.
Even dedicated fly fishermen that don't guide probably aren't gonna spend that much on a vise
You’d be surprised
@@AboutTrout All three of my rods and reels and the line cost the same as a lower end one (one rod was free, and it would make them the price of a high end one) it's also because I'm what one would refer to as a low budget fly fisherman/tyer.
Peak is much better.
Have you ever tied on this vise ? Because I have tied on a peak. What did you like more about peak?
Only vice i use. The base the jaws. The. Rotary function. I have never had or heard of a jaw going bad. But I have several friends with renzetti.tgat have all replaced jaws after a bout a year of tying.
Having tied on both I personally prefer the renzetti. It’s easier to adjust the jaws for various hook sizes , the ability to index the arm for true rotary in all sizes and the larger heavier base on this model are all pluses for me. The jaws are also finer which is nice for smaller hooks. No vise will make you a better tier but a more comfortable vise is definitely more fun to tie in. I have tied a few thousand flies on this vise and have not yet had an issue .
Best
You tie 32 you go smaller? Crazy. Renzetti look cheap and is very tiny for the money. But has a name.
For the money James, Peak wins. I find its adjustment lacking finesse but it's rock solid, has a great base that won't tip, and is designed right up the road in Loveland.
