Theater organist Jesse Crawford pretty much invented theater organ. He could play anything, but ballads were his forte. It was his stumbling onto a glissando across 2-5 keys one night when a woman in the audience audibly swooned every time he did a glissando. He suddenly realized what she was swooning at and so he spent several days perfecting it.
