@dbodooley it's still better than nearly all of the modern-day garbage horror films. Way more entertaining. The first Basket Case is a very original idea, actually. Really creative with a really low budget. It just shows that you don't need millions of dollars to make a good horror film.

As cheesy as these effects are now, any 80's puppets or stop motion claymation shit like this still gives me the creeps. Maybe from seeing these kind of movies waay too young in the early 90s.

I am not sure about the reporter. Realistically she should have died. If she was kept for the Freak Show, why didn't she show up in the rest of the movie or part 3? She had a knife, why didn't she just stab Blye (spelling), he can't be that strong.
Other than Duane and Belial, most of the freaks seem benign and harmless. Marcy could have gotten away if she didn't open the basket or drop the knife.

Honestly, the freaks seemed as ugly on the inside as on the outside. They murdered the investigator, the cameraman and disfigured the girl (even after she'd clearly relented, and promised to give up the case).
