Love this episode as a summer repeat ! It's like the Masters learning even more from a Master...Annemor is an amazing wealth of knowledge on Norwegian textile history and has a wry sense of humor...the ice cream story is precious ! All these lovely family histories in sweaters make me realize that I must finish my Norwegian ancestry...Thanks guys 😘
What a fascinating Vlog…thank you Arne and Carlos. The visit to Sedestal and Annamor was wonderful, she is truly everything you mentioned and more. She is charming and a great storyteller!💫 The patience and perseverance you all must have to knit such detailed sweaters. Bravo👏👏🌟 I am reminded of the tiny knitting designs done by the Indigenous people of Perú, Bolivia and Ecuador. Even some of the historical stories resemble those from villager living/ surviving in the Andes mountains. I have been blessed to meet amazing knitters and have been given exquisite examples of their work. Thank you again …sending you so much for sharing with us your adventures. 🎉❤ 🌟💫👏💛🙏🌸
I really enjoyed learning the history of the sweater and Anne is so talented, and so are you Arne and Carlos- so nice to see a crafting tradition that is still going strong!!! Thanks again for the nice video!
Those absolutely beautiful vistas are an invitation to visit Sedestal! ❤ The history and symbolism in these lovely garments only make them more special. I so appreciate the Norwegian interest in preserving history and traditions. 🇳🇴
I'd love to see the family tree! I got lost in the branches!!! What a beautiful village. This was my favorite series. I loved it then and even more now. Now for my negative comment. Did you have to remind me of that stitch named "lice"? Since retirement in teaching I haven't had to think about that word! I do have to say my fear of that word is waning! I love the history and symbolism of this sweater. Thank you for rerunning this video. ❤️❤️❤️🧶❤️❤️❤️
hi guys it was a great story on the sweathers a lot of talent there and so much history there was a lot of meaning to the sweathers i enjoyed the story behind it take care
I see you have the beetle out again. Great. Can see where you get your knitting via long standing family members. What lovely knitting on the sweaters. Very enjoyable to listen to the history,
Gorgeous opening views and interesting history of knitwear styles. Lovely sweaters! It’s no wonder Nordic style is so coveted . I don’t think folks realize what these sweaters are beyond how they appear. Right. Many imitations . Great video. I enjoyed. Thank you . Marilyn D NJ USA x
This was wonderful, to understand all the meanings and styles - Norway. - separating from Sweden, coming into their own.- we have been to Sweden and Denmark, afraid, age will prevent another trip from,USA - but this was so wonderful and Annemor is a wealth of knowledge - and explains so well. - ❤
Such a fascinating episode! Annemor's knowledge and wisdom about the symbols that are knitted into a garment is astounding! Thank you for this summer repeat. What a treasure!!
You introduced me to Annemor and I have never looked back! I have some of her books and follow her as much as possible as she posts in social media. Thank you thank you!
Arne and Carlos! Greetings from hot hot hot (106 degrees F) Dallas, Texas! I was so inspired by the beautiful Setesdal patterns and sweaters that I went to Dale of Norway and bought a Setesdal cardigan for myself! Am enjoying your videos tremendously!!
Lice is something we don't want to catch here in the U.S.A. However, learning a new meaning for the word "lice" (that makes a lot of sense) was very nice. I like the type of lice you were talking about here. Lace and lice have only one letter difference. I wonder why?
What a wonderful episode. I must have missed this one when it aired originally. It was so interesting I might have to watch it again. I have a request. Could you make one of your 60 second episodes on that colourwork trick that she showed. I couldn’t really see what she was doing in back there when she changed to the white colour. I would love to learn the trick she (Annemor) had. Norway seems to be so rich in culture and tradition. It made for such a wonderful way to spend Sunday afternoon for me.
My goodness. All those lovely sweaters. I especially like the one Annemor is wearing. This was very interesting. Thank you! And, Arne, I'm with you. If there's ice cream, I'm on it!
Thank you for this fascinating episode. I was spellbound throughout. The historical aspects were so interesting and related in such an engaging way. I have been stimulated to learn more about the Norwegian culture and will definitely re watch this episode a few times. Also intriguing that you are related to Annemor who is definitely a national treasure. Thank you for your generous spirit in sharing everything in this episode and to let us all learn from this master artisan (as are you too).It was a blessing. I had been thinking for a couple of weeks that I wanted to go back and watch that series again, so thanks for this! Isnt that lice on your sweaters on the opening credits of SAKFAB?
I appreciate how considerate you were in folding all the sweaters. Such thoughtful guests.
Thank you for re-airing this. I watched it when it first ran, but I got so much more out of it this time.

Arne and Carlos, your wrong side work is just as beautiful as the machine knitted wrong side.

Another fantastic knitting tip at the end. I was a little nervous when Arne and Carlos started knitting on Annemor’s sweater. The nerve of me.
Thank you for showing this. Very interesting.
Thanks for this video. I found it fascinating the first time I watched it and even better the second time.
Such a fascinating episode! Annemor's knowledge and wisdom about the symbols that are knitted into a garment is astounding! Thank you for this summer repeat. What a treasure!!
The construction of theses Setesdal was beautiful as well as practical.
Beautiful sweaters!
I like how the knitting patterns and details show the person’s beliefs or traditions.
It’s an aspect of anthropology.
