Filmed from the cab of the unique class 109 Wickham d.m.u. on 2nd July 2011 with yours truly at the controls. Also seen are 7822 Foxcote Manor and class 26 no. D5310.
This video was Soooooperb !!! A bit like the video - cab ride Corwen only this one was videod in the summer time, which made it all the more interesting - like everything is nicen green - A big thank you to the person who made this great video, l say well done 👍👍✅.
Excellent run. It's amazing what volunteers with vision and enthusiasm can achieve where governments destroy. All those tunnels, viaducts, bridges, stations and earthworks across our nation abandoned and decaying while our roads are still congested despite vast road building projects over the decades.
Although I have been President of the International Musical Eisteddfod for many years I am sorry to say that I have never taken this train ride. Its a lovely journey and many congratulations to those who have restored it and continue to run it. This year(2020) the Eisteddfod will be on line for the first time in its history and so I shall miss my annual visit to Llangollen. However, this video reminds me if what I am missing and I can’t wait for next year and perhaps an opportunity to travel on the railway.
Superb! I drove the 101s when they were in service with Regional Railways & latterly First North Western. The sound of the brake valve brings it all back to me.
Llangollen has done an amazing job at Corwen. £2.4 million, including various grants. Of a standard equal to anything Network Rail can produce for probably £15million. Though diesels are also 'heritage', class 31 from 1958, hopefully GWR steam will soon return. From a 30+ years member, well done all, and good luck be with you, onward. Rich T.
This is a tourist railway running for 8 miles (soon to be extended to 10 miles), running mostly steam hauled trains but also diesel hauled and diesel multiple units (D.M.U`s.)
I've just started to watch this video and I love the views brilliant

It would be lovely to see you there, I hope that I`m the rostered driver on that day.
