Aww ❤️❤️❤️thank you! I still want to learn a lot more about the process and see how I could create the best sounding/most affordable ukulele available to the community!
Another great video today. Loved the side by side comparison of all the voices in the ukulele family. While I Love my concert uke for it's bright clear voice, I also Love the warm mellow voice of my baritone. My baritone can be very soulful, and my concert so cheerful. My baritone can also be cheery and the concert can express some quiet joy as well. Bottom line, I love and enjoy them both very much. I went to the Duke of Uke website, very impressive! After having heard the tone of these instruments as played by Ms. Bernadette, it's pretty clear that they are quality instruments, reasonably priced. They also carry a fairly extensive line-up of other brands of ukuleles as well. Cordoba, Kala, Laka, Risa, as well as their own Duke brand. I couldn't browse for long because I started getting an irresistible urge to BUY BUY BUY ukes that I can't afford... LOL. Worth a look though, especially if you are in the market for another ukulele. Thanks Ms. Bernadette, I learn something every time I watch your videos. I love reading all the comments from the community too! I have learned Many things from the others in the community as well, so I thank you all also! Cheers!
Some catagories that I came up with- Ukulele with the most comfortable action Ukulele with the reasonable price Ukulele with the brightest sound. Ukulele with the best gig bag. Most elegant ukulele.
The only category for 2019 awards I can think of right now is the design of the ukulele. Also I love when baritone and soprano ukuleles are compared to each other, its so cute!!
It is a gorgeous collection and they sound great on the video. I had never heard of this company; their website is loaded with beauty and the prices are comparable with others. Thanks!
Dark wood definitely different than most. They look more shapely too, this may be adding to the voice of the instrument. They come across sounding very clean on the video. The baritone is a gem!
Nice to see a UK company bring a new range out they sound great I'm in the market for a replacement having brought a mid-price one from eBay and waiting 5 weeks and it arrived Badly Damaged having a problem getting it replaced you get what you pay for, the uke is helping me cope with constant pain keep strumming folks thanks Bernadette you help we more than you will ever know.
Hi Bernadette! I love the idea of yearly awards! In addition to smoothest frets, I'd suggest "best action", "best resonance", "smoothest (or best) tuners". When I purchase a ukulele, the very first thing I check are the smoothness of the frets, and second, I check the action. I'm sure there are a ton of other award categories to consider. Such a great idea!
These are beautiful!! It's so refreshing to see them all side by side. And they sound gorgeous!! I love these!! Awesome review!! P.s. I love your shirt!! ❤❤
I love that you were able to compare all four sizes. It is so interesting to watch! The gigbag looks great and I really like the sound they produce. Maybe you could do one for the most comfortable action, most unique or beautiful looking, most worth it for its price or most suitable for beginners. It is a great idea to do these awards!
Everyone looking for a ukulele needs to see this video. Hi Ms.B, This is the best ukulele size comparison video I've seen. Very smart of Duke to let us see the different model sizes they have created, all in one excellently informative video. The playing comparison at the end was brilliant. Can really hear the quality of sound and the volume from each size. Liking the concert. Yeah the design and finish has an understated elegance. Plus the fret end comfort, a quality detail that others miss. I didn't buy a uke at the music store just because the frets weren't dressed properly. Bonus gig bag, Duke seems to be for reals. It's all in the details. Well done Duke, props to you Ms.B. Awards... Best: sound/tone/sustain. Best: action/playability Best: customer service Best: Happiness inducing experience. Best: Review video (this one) Best: Day to you Ms.B
I just bought my first Uke from Dukes of Uke in London this weekend! Had no idea they were famous haha. They recommended your videos and I've been practising and building up blisters on my fingers since then. I'm getting better though :D
These are so beautiful, I'm really glad they included baritone uke in the collection and gave it the same look. :) I'm having a heck of a time finding a pretty baritone uke - nice brands have them but they don't look as cute as the others. Categories...warmest sound, brightest sound.
Categories: Smoothest fingerboard Best action Loudest/ nicest sound Prettiest look Best price Most useful gig bag Thanks for reading these!! Hop you’ll take this into account!!
wowwie... the entire line looks great!! Perfect for the person who doesn't know what size they prefer.... btw... i like dark ukes tooo.... got a very special one recently from an amazing person....
Banana color...I dont think I have ever heard anyone refer to a color as banana...cream or butter yes...I think your description is spot on...thank you for being so unique...we are truly blessed to have you
If you're giving any away, I'll gladly take the Duke Tenor off your hands! Haha Great look to them and look solidly-built too. From the video I like their sound; seem to project well, with volume, clarity and the sustain is nice. Thanks for the review!
I like the not only does the gig bag swing fully open and has that luxurious looking lining (who wouldn't want to lie around on that!?), but at the top of the front liner there is a special extra sturdy bit so that the tuning pegs don't tear up the soft part! Very well done attention to practical detail!
In comparing ukulele brands, I would include sound quality. I have an inexpensive Makala and a slightly more expensive Fender, yet I prefer the sound of the less expensive uke. I have never played a high end uke, but while I would assume the sound quality would increase with price, it would be helpful to have a rating of sound quality.
Categories for awards: cutest, most beautiful , most innovative , sound brightness, sound warmth, best value for the money, best accessories, best attention to detail, best US built
They all look so nice. The darker color makes it look so unique. They sound great too.. Uke awards at the end of the year is such a great idea. Was that KitKat's idea? 😂 Thanks to Duke of Use for sending all these beautiful instruments..
Hi Bernadette, Checked out their shop. They are reasonably priced. For baritone you get gig bag and tuner with uke for 134euro. This drops to 100 euro for soprano, with concert and tenor in between.
LOL..."my cat is laying on it and she's the queen"...love it! The wood on those is absolutely beautiful...never managed going for a uke from the UK :-)
First of all, im liking that color on you. I dont know why 😂 Those are very cool ukes! You got them in different sizes 👌👍 Nice way of explaining their difderences too.
Most guitar makers calls that look/ color as Vintage sunburst, some of them calls it Bourbon burst, and it depends how dark it is you can call it Cognac burst🤗🤗🤗, in the end there is that BURST that you an see in the middle👍👍👍👍. Well explained Ms. B! ✌🏻&❤️
Oh my!!! NAMM😃😃😃, you’re in the Big girls category now Ms. B!!! Not many can go to NAMM show, one day I’ll get there😂😂😂, for now, I’m so happy with your achievements👍👍👍
For some reason I really like the baritone ukulele. Just the sound of it is really good, my brother is getting me a ukulele for Christmas and I’m really excited to play it!
i love watching your reviews on ukulele but every time i did it makes me confused which one im gonna buy 😅 I'm started playing using my friend's ukulele and now that I'm on day 7 of 30 days challenge it made me really want to have my own 😍😍😍
You should have categories for prettiest ukulele and best sounding ukulele of the year. I loved the sound of the baritone ukulele it was so much more different then the other ukuleles.😊
My first ukulele was a concert (I gave it away to a friend that couldn't afford one and wanted to play) AND wth the concert I couldn't make E chord !! It was the most difficult chord for me and I was sad because I couldn't play my favourit songs.. BUT I bought my electric-acoustic TENOR ukulele(my boyfrienddd) and I love it.. The thing is that ON THE TENOR I can easily make the E chord And I m so happy I can play anything
Ideas: Which ukulele holds its tune the longest Which ukulele tunes up the best Which ukulele brand that not only you but other trust the best Which new/small ukulele brand deserves more credit If you could only pick one accessory to go with the ukulele, ( besides a tuner ) what would it be? Solid wood or HPL ( high pressure laminate ) Best gig bag
They seem deep in sound and resonates nicely! They're really beautiful! The baritone sounds like a guitar 😱 I know it is traditionally 4 stings off of the guitar! Lovely review 💓
When I was looking for a string instrument to replace the acoustic I couldn't use, I was seriously considering a baritone uke. That way I could build on the knowledge I had already gotten. I decided against it due to the dearth of tutorials and picked up a cheap concert instead. Would love to see more baritone support out there! Thanks, Bernadette!
Categories I'd love to see: Value for money "Worth every cent" (worth the higher price) Comfortable action Best-made (smooth fretboard, great tuning pegs, etc) Best 'extras' (strap buttons, tuner/bag/strings/strap) Maybe best in price-categories (Best under $100/$200/$400) This was a great video, Bernadette. I'm nearly sold on the Enya for the tenor I'm wanting, but now you go and introduce me to Duke. I'll never survive this shopping experience!!! :)

Hi Jamie! Thank you so much for having these sent to my channel. I'm really happy to have the opportunity to share and play them here on the channel! 💛💛💛
@@BernadetteTeachesMusic Oh dear! Sorry to confuse you, but I own another company that makes Banjo Ukuleles exclusively, not ukuleles. We just happen to have a very similar name! I sent you an email though. Hope to hear back from you 😃 Jamie
Categories for uke awards: Best sound Best ability to stay in tune Prettiest design (body of uke) Most comfortable uke Easiest to play Best strings Prettiest headstock Nicest fret design/fret markers Hope that helped!
Award categories-two for tuners: 1) Smoothest action and 2) Best fine-tuning. I would assume that the tuners with the smoothest action will also have the most polished appearance-it just works out that way. On my new Ohana, the tuners are so nice that I HATE the tuners on my other ukes!
Great vid! I’m late to the game here, so this may have been suggested already, but I would like a category for intonation. The first thing I check is consistency of tuning up the neck, one string at a time.
Great! every day you convince me more and more in having a concert ukulele! its size looks more comfortable for changing chords, especially when you have to change positions! in the soprano ukulele It feels a little uncomfortable to do that.. I realized that with the 'crazy little thing called love' song.
Just a few ideas for the "End Of The Year" Best Fret board Best Sustain Best out of box Action Best Budget Uke Most beginner friendly Most likely to buy another
I loooove this! My favorite ukulele is baritone :) My brother got me one this year from Hawaii while he was working over there! I need to change the string but I can't find them anywhere :( I'll have to buy them on Amazon lol I think some categories we should have is Best Sound, Best Quality, Cutest Looking, Nicest Design, & Most Durable Gig Bag 😄
That's so cool to see all sizes in one design! They seem like a really great brand! The sound of their ukuleles overall seems to be pretty low (the baritone just sounds like a guitar 😄) so the soprano doesn't have that typical bright ukulele sound, at least to my ears, but definitely a beautiful rich sound. I just thinks while the design is definitely pretty they were playing it very safe. I'm gonna check them out, I hope the brand has some more unusual designs too 😊

I loooove this! My favorite ukulele is baritone :) My brother got me one this year from Hawaii while he was working over there! I need to change the string but I can't find them anywhere :( I'll have to buy them on Amazon lol
I think some categories we should have is Best Sound, Best Quality, Cutest Looking, Nicest Design, & Most Durable Gig Bag 😄
