I’m a helldivers 1 veteran, which wasn’t all that popular on steam, so it’s really nice to see other people play the new Helldivers after the first one seemingly went under everyone’s radar. Granted, it did come out in 2015 on PlayStation.
I get it. Played for like 30 minutes, realised i actually played for 4 hours and knew i was fucked. It's so damn good. It has like the same feeling as RL, easy to get into but a surprising amount of depth and that 'just one more' energy.
Holy shit, my buddy was just saying this today. That he felt this is easily one of, if not the best competitive game he's played since rocket league came out. Simply because it's so damn fun and makes ALL of us bros want to play a game together again. I completely agree.
Again worth noting the music is composed by Wilbert Roget II who worked on Destiny 2: Forsaken! Most notably the Vault encounter theme for the Last Wish Raid “Watchtower” 😍
Imagine since this game is doing so good the devs at helldivers get Michael salvatori and sechrist for future updates/expansions 😮 that’d be epic. Correct me if I’m wrong but they’re still free agents?
Finally, someone brave enough to make this claim. I know it's new but I just feel like I can already tell how good this game is. So many attention to detail things like how the blood washes off when you step in water, or when I had the hard drive in my hand and I reloaded my revolver, he puts it against his chest and loads the rounds in....thoroughly impressed. Best co-op game I've ever played easy.
The game seriously has potential to go so far. New stratagems, new enemies / factions, new weapons and armor, new modes and missions. I think my dream wish at the moment is a mode where you land on an active Warzone with a bunch of other people
If you want to gauge Helldivers 2 potential, we can identify what it's missing from the first helldivers game. It's missing 1 enemy faction and a bunch of strategems (including mechs and vehicles). In Helldivers 1, there were 3 enemy factions, 1 of which was similar to the Protoss race from Starcraft.
Pro tip - autocannons work for bug holes and robot factories, makes it easier to take them out from a distance instead of grenades or the grenade launcher.
@@-D.I.N.0 the grenade launcher feels incredible, it takes out the bile spitters with easy, they aren't even a concern. and it has insane range. granted i'm still early in the game
@@fringehouse dude it has no drop off for quite a bit of range it’s amazing and that’s true I don’t think I’ve used them on the higher level spitters but it easily 2-3 taps em, I don’t even flinch from those guys anymore lol
As someone who played the first Helldivers which in my opinion was very underrated, it’s nice to see the sequel finally getting the recognition the series deserves. Helldivers has always been a top tier cooperative PvE experience.
I never heard about this game before launch. Now, it's become my favorite gaming experience in a long time. Haven't even thought about touching D2 despite owning the annual pass....
Glad to see this series get so much love, Helldivers 1 was so underrated, got a lot of friends and schoolmates into it and they loved it. But it was rarely ever talked about outside of the community.
Hey cross! If you get a teammate to come interact with you while you have the rocket out, you can get them to do an assisted reload, which lets you shoot WAY WAY WAAAAAAY faster. Very helpful for tanks and Bile Titans and such.
Such a fkn cool game, and it deserves all the time it gets in the spotlight. As for the matchmaking, I can let some things slide on release when the game itself is fundamentally good.
Rank 30 Helldiver Tips: Did it move? Blow it up. Still moving? You didn't kill it hard enough. It doesn't move but looks evil? Blow it up. In the way? Blow it up. There is no such thing as excessive force.

At it's base it's so much fun, but just thinking about the potential stuff they can add like larger bases, gunships (or winged bugs for the terminids) so they can introduce AA stratagems, mechs (I hear they had them in the first one), etc has me really excited.
Remember that just like in HD1, tanks have effective armor thickness. Meaning that shots from the Recoilless Rifle can bounce off of it if they hit at an oblique angle.

@@LightAura I haven't done them either, but I think that some planets have certain conditions. So I think the bot planet ones have an emp that messes with your call ins.
If you haven't messed around with it yet, the Grenade Launcher is one of the most ubiquitously useful weapons in this game. It's applicable against both factions right now and makes taking out nests/fabs a breeze.
Nade launcher and Autocannon are so fun to use. I love Autocannon to deal with the mediums between basic enemies and tanks/chargers, but its kind of awkward to destroy fabricators with it, but its great for bug holes. Grenade launcher is just a great time all around to kill hordes of enemies.
I'm the dedicated spear person in my group. its ammo is VERY limited and the lock on mechanic is annoying but when it works is works extremely well at what its supposed to do... and it's supposed to remove tanks and titans that will otherwise ruin your groups day.
yea those making stratagems random messed my team up big time, kiilled my team a few times when i wanted to drop a resupply but instead dropped a 320mil barrage... funny as hell, such a fun game
Played a lot of helldivers 1 on PS4 when it came out. I even got the platinum trophy. What i really miss on this one is that they removed the "downed/bleeding state" where your team can get you back up before you bleed out. Such fun times!!

hey john listen, im lvl 79 in fireteam and still play a few times a week. if you enjoyed playing missions on intense or extreme even a little bit, grab helldivers. and grab it soon because there's so many players and the servers melt sometimes and matchmaking is broken and shits chaos. but getting on that fucking dropship... @@84juggalojohn
The best part about this game to me is that you actually playing the missions changes the world that's what I want in a live service game a continuous changing world
I know hes not at the level yet but solid tip is use railgun, one shots Hulks at helldive(9) diffculty and also breaks leg armor of heavy bugs then switch to shotty(breaker) making it an instant kill when shooting off one leg

Helldivers 2 did away with something that I hated in the first game: sharing a screen with 3 other random players. More than enough to convince me to get 2 since I already loved the core game of the first.
That problem exactly pushed me away from first game. I ve seen people telling underrated helddiver 1 game but whne you share whole screen with other people in 2d game its not a fun game with friendly fire.
Aye cross just to let you know! You can let a buddy carry the rocket pack and auto load if they're positioned behind you, pretty much buddying up with you to rapid fire the rockets off if you got a beefy target running ya down.

Don't mind me, just waiting for the updates to add in previous weapons from the first game (BRING BACK MY TRIDENT! (laser shotgun, super fun)) Also side note, the armory shows a total of 29 primary weapons, but when I counted both the normal and premium warbonds, I counted only 15 (that include the liberator that is default unlock) so either I'm blind, or we have 14 more weapons to be introduced after they can get the servers stable. So may people have been playing that's its actually overloading their servers! They upgraded it to hold 350k, then it died 5 minutes after cause it peaked at 365k! God damn I love helldivers, my ONLY complaint with the game is that it is NOT designed with solo play in mind, so a solo diver like myself really struggles to get past level 5 missions.

Just be aware that helldivers 2 has - despite being a PVE game - an invasive kernel-mode anti cheat system. It's essentially handing over your credit card PIN to a stranger and trusting their word for not using that information. Similar to Valorant, except in Valorant it makes sense due to it being competitive PVP. It's the reason I have not downloaded it.

This game needs a 8 player raid against giant bugs the size of mountains and mechs like Gundams.

Despite its connectivity issues and stuff from a very popular launch, mannnnn its my game of the year as of currently. And I haven't had this much fun in a coop game since Deep Rock Galactic
This game is ridiculously good fun, the audio is fantastic too. 👏👏👏

god damn the voice acting in this game is so good. Its so deeply unserious and yet the VA's are out here screaming "LIBERTY SAVE ME" like their real lives depend on it. I love every second i spend in this game. 2024 is eating good so far with both Palworld and this.

cross the shotgun on page 5ish is one of if not the best primary weapon in the game imo , works at long ranges as well !!!

Also side note, the armory shows a total of 29 primary weapons, but when I counted both the normal and premium warbonds, I counted only 15 (that include the liberator that is default unlock) so either I'm blind, or we have 14 more weapons to be introduced after they can get the servers stable.
So may people have been playing that's its actually overloading their servers! They upgraded it to hold 350k, then it died 5 minutes after cause it peaked at 365k! God damn I love helldivers, my ONLY complaint with the game is that it is NOT designed with solo play in mind, so a solo diver like myself really struggles to get past level 5 missions.

This game on launch looks like battlefront II now and that is incredible, the energy and carnage is incredible.
Honestly, when I played it the only thing going through my mind was if it had exotics and such this is the Destiny that could've been. Can you imagine fighting Vex, Cabal, Hive in that kind of hell?

The modifier that messes with your stratagem drops is actually so evil
If destiny had the same war torn battlefield deep in the trenches feel as this game, it would be so much more fun

Just be aware that helldivers 2 has - despite being a PVE game - an invasive kernel-mode anti cheat system. It's essentially handing over your credit card PIN to a stranger and trusting their word for not using that information. Similar to Valorant, except in Valorant it makes sense due to it being competitive PVP. It's the reason I have not downloaded it.
