    One of the few players that stayed on the PGA Tour that I was still a fan of. Him and Spieth. Now I'm an even bigger fan of Rahmbo. So glad he made the move. He's going to fit in nicely. Can't wait to see the team he fields and the name he chooses for his team. This is going to be exciting!

      Only beef I’ve got with LivGolf is commentary for the shotgun start . Instead of saying Jon Rahm is on the 7th hole 🕳️ just say Jon Rahm is playing the 7th with 4 holes to play of his round…. That’s it the rest rocks

      Liv tour can't recreate the history of the masters can't recreate the history of the Augusta course, Liv tour can't recreate the Pebble Beach and the history there. Beth's black. Etc. If you want to compete for majors, if you want to compete against tigers/Jacks majors record you have to play the PGA majors. Liv would need 70 years to create that history.

    • @Jddvs
      @Jddvs 10 месяцев назад

      LIV can’t recreate history. No one or no thing can. Players who have previously qualified for the majors are currently allowed to participate. The Masters is independent of the PGA as are other major tournaments. As such they can invite whom ever they choose. New leagues in other sports have been created over the years and are prospering as they coexist with the more established leagues. Competition events between leagues has been a boom for fan base as well as financially for the leagues, teams, and players. I see this as a possibility for golf.

      Having caddied on PGA tour 15+ years. Tell you firsthand at least 2 current LIV member's enjoy good head to head matches. Our tour has our fair share. Actually made it known to two players time is ripe to tell the world. Being one is a top tier player would keep some light off LIV. PGA TOUR played lily white card far too many years. Don't think any average golf fan did not recognize DJ was suspend for using. DJ like most players realize Tiger would never be drug tested. Double standard has negative effect on tour moral. Did you see how big Tiger looked at Hero? Don''t get me wrong players realize and appreciate Tiger's impact on the tour. Especially increased purses's over last 25 years.If LIV / PGA can't come to an agreement golf will suffer. Tiger plays TV ratings plus 30%. LIV on CW next to no viewership.

    The money is amazing. Just think what Ben Hogan got for winning the Open at Carnoustie. In fact there's a bit of a gulf from what is earned for winning any major today. LIV's teams will only really work when they are national, not these invented names. The presentation is excellent, the viewing time shorter, but the Ryder Cup is the real deal for team golf, not this. And what many of us miss most is the World Match Play at Wentworth. It closed off the UK golf year, just like the Masters from Augusta opened it. But wherever he goes, I will always like and respect Jon.

    Let's be honest, and golf is supposed to be a gentleman's game full of honor, honesty, integrity, etiquette, and politeness. Jon Rahm went to LIV STRICTLY FOR THE 600 MILLION. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL PRO GOLFERS IS MONEY! Don't believe any of that nonsense about loving the game and titles being the most important. You can always judge people by their actions. Rahm and other golf stars chose the LIV money over anything the PGA Tour had to offer - history, titles, fame, legacy, or loyalty. I'm happy for Rahm. How could anyone in their right mind turn down 600m! Money is the most important thing in this world for 99% of the people. They all have a price, a number, they will accept. More PGA stars will leave for LIV, I'm sure of it. This might be the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. That will be a deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they have tried to monopolize pro golf. From the beginning, LIV has had a right to exist and recruit players, who of their on free will join it. Also, all of that talk about Saudi money being blood money because of the Saudi human rights violations and political murders is hypocritical nonsense. Look at the war crimes and murder the USA is supporting with Israel's murderous genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, for one clear example. USA money is blood money too. We live in a world where many corporations and companies make billions of dollars off of war and murder, or off of polluting the planet with smog and chemicals. So, all of the golf tours and professional sports are full of blood money. I don't like LIV's format or their loud music, but with all of that Saudi money involved it is here to stay. I do think we will soon see a merger of the two tours, because that will be the only way the PGA tour survives.

    It’s nothing more than greed from a man who is leaving an organization who made him a multi-millionaire and enabled him to build his brand. Now he is helping to destroy a treasured organization whose founders would be so disappointed knowing these players have jumped ship for a organization known for it’s brutal monarchy where freedom of speech is prohibited, wearing certain clothing is prohibited, not to mention all the atrocities against women. It’s just money and lack of loyalty. Sinful really.

It's like a church that won't tolerate women leaders and is still singing the same hymns from the 19th century. 3 day tournaments, a team format, mic'd up players and caddies were obvious innovations. Flaherty total sellout as well as this $500 million Spanish player. They both did it for the money not for the love of the game not for the competition not for the team concept just say it straight out you did it for the money if you lead off with that, maybe people would kind of understand but would understand but when you go out there and blatantly lie and say you do it for the team competition and whatever without saying first off you did it for the money that’s just making us look like we’re stupid come on give us more credit than that

    I don’t have a problem with LIV, I do have a problem with people not being honest about why they joined LIV. If there was a league with the same players and format, but the purse was $100K and no signing bonus, there is no way Jon would join because the money sucks. Don’t tell me it’s the format and to grow the game. It’s always about the money, which is fine, just be honest. Unless he’s being told not to say that.

    I like to watch all the best players compete against each other - this divide greatly helps the players financially- but as a fan we are not getting the best product. Now the only golf that really matters are the majors. I am a big fan of JR - and he said it best - this is best for him. Not for me and other fans of watching the best compete.

    • @bobbys4327

      Yeah, and the pga tour really couldn't care less. The pga tour doesn't care about what fans, or players want for that matter.

    He's lost all cred. LIV is a joke. He said so himself several months ago, vehemently. No cred, no integrity, no honor. All about the all mighty dollar, under the cover of the old story line all these guys spew out... to grow the game. Right. Seve is rolling over in his grave.

    I'm not a fan of Jon Rahm's decision, as it seems inconsistent with the values he has previously emphasized. While I respect it's his choice, I find it challenging to comprehend it at this moment, especially considering the balance between legacy and financial aspects in golf.

    Read my comment below for more of my thoughts on this issue. What I like about LIV is: 3-day tournaments (4 days is too long), no cut (all players get paid), high purses (wealth attracts fans and TV), Global golf (new great courses and more countries involved), the best players in the world (Rahm, Koepka, DeChambeau, Johnson, etc.), and team play (keeps players focused and trying hard). What I don't like about LIV: loud music (noisy and distracting), shotgun start (removes introductions and drama from 1st tee), and not enough tournaments in the USA (which is the golf capital of the world). Even if the PGA Tour gets billionaire investors, they had better merge with LIV or they will lose many fans. Palmer, Nicklaus, and Woods proved without a doubt, it's the superstars that matter the most. They had better get those golf superstars back on their tour somehow someway, or it's sayonara, ciao, and adios.
