    Great job hope you did well in the tournament 😊 Many of the finger lakes are equally as good as Cayuga. Many times I have caught record-breaking small mouth on my home lake Seneca lake Prior to season opener You should try Seneca sometime as well

    Question for anybody honestly, are smallmouth usually longer than largemouth or is it vice versa??? Never fished a length tourney so was curious. Hope you chose the largemouth!!! Seems like they wouldn’t get near as pressured as the smallmouth. But by the end of video, you said bye bye to dock Largemouth lol

    I’ve fished a few times a year for the last 40 years. Definitely a great water. Don’t discount the possibility that Large Mouth could still be spawning and even though the Small Mouth at the MLF were heavy 20” Large Mouth are probably easier to come by. I haven’t fished it as much over the last 5 years but historically the Small Mouth population isn’t that good and Large Mouth win unless the Small Mouth are on beds. I’d target Larger Mouth in a CPR event.

    Ya gotta start cranking down and let that rod load a little before setting that hook lady! You're killing me here!! On another note, I think bedding fish should absolutely be off limits, not so bad in catch, measure and release tournaments, but especially in the other series where fish are thrown in the livewell and taken to weigh in, I absolutely disagree with it. Hope the tourney goes well and thanks for sharing with us.

    • @kristinefischer2289
      @kristinefischer2289  Год назад +1

      Honestly I am with you there- it’s so bad for the fishery when they ride around and get released way off their beds

    • @edwardcowan7012
      @edwardcowan7012 Год назад

      Although I think MLF was absolutely wrong to hold an event out of season in NY. NY just opened fishing to catch and release during the closed season in parts of NY. PA just did the same but does not allow tournaments during the closed season. As for the MLF formate of catch weigh and release it’s worse for spawning Small Mouth. They will continue to defend their nest and bite over and over until dead. If you watched the MLF live coverage closely you would have seen the same 6 pound fish caught off the same dock by different anglers 4 times and that’s just the live coverage. As for not fishing for bed fish upstate NY Smallmouth spawn as deep as 25ft and sometimes well into August. If you’re fishing your bed fishing!

    Cayuga is great fishing, but the locals know, the farms dump thousands of gallons of manure in salmon creek every year. If not for the zebra mussels, the lake would be dead.
