Great job hope you did well in the tournament 😊 Many of the finger lakes are equally as good as Cayuga. Many times I have caught record-breaking small mouth on my home lake Seneca lake Prior to season opener You should try Seneca sometime as well
Lake Erie is up there to especially in the spring it far out weighs Cayuga and I love Cayuga but the amount of fish we were catching in Erie shallow was nuts 5 pounds almost every fish
What kind of bait and rig set up do you use? Also, this was shot 11 days ago from July 9 where are the bass now have they gone out? I don’t see as many inshore.
Kuka Lake, Seneca Lake, Canandaigua, Owasco, Skaneateles... All the fingerlakes are great fisheries. Cayuga has garnered this huge reputation but hell they are all good.
Were you south of the power plant when getting those large mouth. I was up there fishing and ran into Nolan Minor at the union spring ramp. It was so cool knowing you guys were up there the same time I was.
Between the salt mines and the power station is my go to area for bass, north side I work hibiscus to the locks are decent for eels carp and even the new sturgeon. Too infested with zebras up north. Myers to the canal east and west sides are my trout areas.
Question for anybody honestly, are smallmouth usually longer than largemouth or is it vice versa??? Never fished a length tourney so was curious. Hope you chose the largemouth!!! Seems like they wouldn’t get near as pressured as the smallmouth. But by the end of video, you said bye bye to dock Largemouth lol
I’ve fished a few times a year for the last 40 years. Definitely a great water. Don’t discount the possibility that Large Mouth could still be spawning and even though the Small Mouth at the MLF were heavy 20” Large Mouth are probably easier to come by. I haven’t fished it as much over the last 5 years but historically the Small Mouth population isn’t that good and Large Mouth win unless the Small Mouth are on beds. I’d target Larger Mouth in a CPR event.
I’ve been super intrigued with this lake since I grew up in western NY but moved a long time ago. I wonder how they have managed this lake? It is really producing well.
Ya gotta start cranking down and let that rod load a little before setting that hook lady! You're killing me here!! On another note, I think bedding fish should absolutely be off limits, not so bad in catch, measure and release tournaments, but especially in the other series where fish are thrown in the livewell and taken to weigh in, I absolutely disagree with it. Hope the tourney goes well and thanks for sharing with us.
Although I think MLF was absolutely wrong to hold an event out of season in NY. NY just opened fishing to catch and release during the closed season in parts of NY. PA just did the same but does not allow tournaments during the closed season. As for the MLF formate of catch weigh and release it’s worse for spawning Small Mouth. They will continue to defend their nest and bite over and over until dead. If you watched the MLF live coverage closely you would have seen the same 6 pound fish caught off the same dock by different anglers 4 times and that’s just the live coverage. As for not fishing for bed fish upstate NY Smallmouth spawn as deep as 25ft and sometimes well into August. If you’re fishing your bed fishing!
Cayuga is great fishing, but the locals know, the farms dump thousands of gallons of manure in salmon creek every year. If not for the zebra mussels, the lake would be dead.
I only caught a few in each area, and remember, the areas usually consisted of a few miles! What I didn’t show was cruising by the docks and passing up at least 30 fish I saw sitting under them
Glad you had a blast this past weekend at cayuga lake, it is a great body of water.
It really is!
@@kristinefischer2289 you should check out Skaneateles lake and also otisco lake.
Great job hope you did well in the tournament 😊 Many of the finger lakes are equally as good as Cayuga. Many times I have caught record-breaking small mouth on my home lake Seneca lake Prior to season opener You should try Seneca sometime as well
What a beautiful lake. I love to watch you skip..its like s work of art! Can't wait till the next video! Thanks Kristine.
Thank you so much!
Im fishing Cayuga in the morning! Can't wait!
I agree with you about fishing tournaments during the spawn. HAS to have a negative effect. Good Luck!!
Yeah no doubt, I think about that often! Thank you!
It absolutely affects things.
Best of luck to you in the tournament 🍻🤙🏽
Appreciate it!
You are looking good 👍 Kristine 😊 you're a true adventurer !
Awesome practice, I hope your patterns hold! Good luck, go getem girl!
Talking with the other boat I like how you played your day so far as "Okay".
I keep things very humble and chill 😂
Love to hear you thinking through your fishing!
I agree with you on the bed fish. They certainly get beat up. Heck of a few practice days.
Kristine Fischer school is in session -- and the students are giants! Great video!
Yes! Thank you!
Good luck to you I'm from NY moved to Tennessee 2 years ago learning all over again...
Good fish , thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Nice hat! Love me some Turnpike Troubadours!
Welcome to Upstate NY. Enjoy your stay. Get over to Skaneateles if you can.
Looks like some excellent fishing ahead. 🍻
It sure is, place is amazing!
@@kristinefischer2289 Glad to hear it.
I was at Cayuga a couple weeks ago and I believe it’s definitely the best lake in the country
Lake Erie is up there to especially in the spring it far out weighs Cayuga and I love Cayuga but the amount of fish we were catching in Erie shallow was nuts 5 pounds almost every fish
Really Beautiful video.
Can we eat the fish from this lake?
Thank you
Now that’s a true relationship 😂😂 love each other enough to not catch each others fish during tournaments
Great video! Cayuga is my favorite lake to fish however I do not target bass. I am usually in deep water targeting lake trout, browns and landlocks.
Absolute tanks. Place is so nuts!
Some times you will have good day's and bad days injury watching your videos you are cool 😎
Appreciate that!
25lbs to make the cut @ MLF. WOW what a fishery!!! Good luck!
I’m with ya on not following the crowd. Hoping to see you holding up the first place check and G with second place
Awesome stuff Kristine , my son just moved to that area last year and will be interested in seeing what you found.
Damn those are HOGS!
Dumb question time, what video editing software are you using? Like zooming in on your cast?
Those are some nice looking fish, best of luck to you!
What kind of bait and rig set up do you use? Also, this was shot 11 days ago from July 9 where are the bass now have they gone out? I don’t see as many inshore.
Your hat game is 🔥
Kuka Lake, Seneca Lake, Canandaigua, Owasco, Skaneateles... All the fingerlakes are great fisheries. Cayuga has garnered this huge reputation but hell they are all good.
I heard that Seneca is fantastic! I would love to fish them all!
Were you south of the power plant when getting those large mouth. I was up there fishing and ran into Nolan Minor at the union spring ramp. It was so cool knowing you guys were up there the same time I was.
Yes I was!
Great practice! Oye, can’t believe you kept catching them instead of saving them for the tournament. 😬
You definitely should try lake st clair in Michigan you will guarantee catch a giant 8lb smallmouth or a musky
Between the salt mines and the power station is my go to area for bass, north side I work hibiscus to the locks are decent for eels carp and even the new sturgeon. Too infested with zebras up north. Myers to the canal east and west sides are my trout areas.
You are a beasts on that water. Much respect! What bait are u using.

The south end has always been good. Not sure why no one wins tournaments there.
Nice fish
Don’t know, I’ve fished that and Chaumont Bay NY but the bay has some amazing smallies.
I dont know either but I like them dockkkkkkks
😮nice catch
Dang those are some nice ones. What was the average depth under the docks?
2-4’ !
Amazing video fishing my friend . i like
Hey question. What month was this video taken in?
Late June

Dustin Connell won last year on all smallmouth fishing deep
@@petejablowski2123 I've probably fished 60 or more tournaments on Cayuga and exactly one was won with Small Mouth.
Do u use the Torqeedo trolling motor??
Wait your in New York really surprising not many places around here anymore
The fishing is fantastic up here !!
Why is it nobody shows what lures they’re using and at what depths? That would be INTERESTING.
Next year they should do the event in the beginning of may. You thought fishing was good then, early may is on fire during the prespawn
I’ve been super intrigued with this lake since I grew up in western NY but moved a long time ago. I wonder how they have managed this lake? It is really producing well.
Gobies took care of everything on their own
The best it's ever been right now for both large and smallmouth. The lake trout fishing is outstanding as well
Kristine, i appreciate your feelings about fishing on beds.
Kristine are your tournaments held at the same time as the Bass Masters? It sort of seems to. I wish I could get yours on tv.
They aren’t’ we were here a week after MLF!
Beautiful fish , you are on em
Get them

Honestly I am with you there- it’s so bad for the fishery when they ride around and get released way off their beds
Although I think MLF was absolutely wrong to hold an event out of season in NY. NY just opened fishing to catch and release during the closed season in parts of NY. Teach me 😢
Cayuga is great fishing, but the locals know, the farms dump thousands of gallons of manure in salmon creek every year. If not for the zebra mussels, the lake would be dead.
Thats the reason its such good fishing😂
Why are bass in season on these lakes during the spawn nowadays, is the attitude that people don’t eat bass?
Here in ontario zone 20(lake ontario st.lawrence river and New York side) open early in janurary for catch and release no weights, no pics.
Then they close open again in July opposed to normal bass season which starts in June
I would love to fish with you for one day ,,,,,,, bet we could wear em out 🌞🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🌞
Don't get sucked in Kris, to bed fish. It's the road to ruin.
You’re right… but stay tuned for the tourney ;)
Good Luck young Lady.
Well you know we're they are wy burn out the spots.
I only caught a few in each area, and remember, the areas usually consisted of a few miles! What I didn’t show was cruising by the docks and passing up at least 30 fish I saw sitting under them
Gyattt
I just have 1 question, are you married?. Lol nice fish.
When you and "G" getting married y'all been together for a while?

🤣🤣🤣
Not a 6 pounder GREG LOL
