Crazy how you sold your trailboss and i sold my at4. You went gmc sierra i went cateye silverado. Everything i want to do to the truck you are doing. Keep up the great videos 👍🏻
I might be the odd one here but I do not wanna see this beautiful truck ruined with a lift kit this is my favorite body style and I think they look bowlegged with the lift. But that's just my opinion. God bless keep up the work man
😎👍 That cam is going to give you a very nice chop. With those duration numbers and that tight LSA the overlap is going to be perfect without losing mid RPM torque. A higher stall speed converter isn't necessary if you're going with a deeper rear gear ratio but it certainly won't hurt. Actually, unless you're going to be rock crawling I would do the converter before a deeper rear gear ratio. But then again, I think you mentioned going with taller tires. If that's the case then yeah. Deeper gears are a good choice. Regardless, you're going to love it!
Can’t wait to see this cam install… wish you were doing it but I get it, life is busy especially with kids!! I say a very mild lift, nothing crazy just a good looking truck and a nice set of wheels!! Keep up the incredible work!!!!
C and E Automotive in Montevallo is really good. I had a tahoe with the 5.3 and DOD with bad lifter tick. Went to 4 different shops and tgey were the only ones who knew a thing about engine work on the 5.3s without breaking the bank. Good people
This cam guy should sound pretty interesting, especially paired with everything you’ve done to Chomper. I plan on getting a S&B CIA for the old 99’ RCSB. As well as new plugs n wires, and getting a simple street tune. Should muster up 30ish HP to the rear wheels, plus the tune will prolong the lifespan of the ole 4l60.
I can't wait to see the install video, it'll be interesting to see how it'll sound after the swap. PS: Spammers, Scammers and impersonators, don't you even think about commenting!!!
I dont comment much but I watch every video and your channel is hands down my favorite on here and Chomper is my favorite truck so far then Larry in second place..... I cant wait to see to see the cam in Chomper.. I have 98 F150 single cab with the 4.6 an 05 Tahoe and just bought an 03 ext cab Cateye
Pretty close specs to the Truck Norris cam. Should be a good one. I’ve got the Truck Norris in my 5.7 but haven’t ran it yet. Mine has street tires but FTI also recommended I run a 2800 stall converter. Can’t wait to hear it.
I tuned a Trucknorris cam in a rcsb 4.8 and it was a major power jump from a stage 1 summit truck cam. It made extra torque and power everywhere. I had not seen a cam for a truck motor gain that much torque before but man it really helped things.
Id recommend getting an upgraded stall, nothing crazy. I have a ‘03 5.3 single cab 4x4 that I put the truck Norris cam in with almost the same exact other parts you have. I am with the stock 4l60 and stock converter and although driving is fine, when I’m coming to a complete stop or letting off the brake a little bit, the cam wants to push through. It feels cool but after almost a year now it’s getting a tad old. Looking to get a converter here in the next 6 months or so (life things going on) and hopefully going to get a high 2k stall.
Theres a shop in Houston that I follow on fb and they’ve been running that chopacabra cam a lot lately and it sounds pretty mean. Can’t wait to hear yours and see how it does
I would love to see the results on the Choppacobra. I have a similar setup in my LS 5.3 C/10 but no engine mods except for Speed Engineering Longtubes and have been really tossing around the idea of camming the truck since at the time I didn’t have the coin to be able to cam it. My trans is good for 750hp it’s a built 4L60 with a shift kit and my rear end is a Ford 8.8 with 3.73’s and a posi.
Does it have the tow and haul package which it should and it will have 3.73 gear ratios because my a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew cab LS Short bed 5.3 V8 Lm7 with factory 3.73 gear ratios
I can tell you this, the ls7 lifters have been junk lately. I work in a performance shop and see these trucks everyday and I can't tell you how many ls7 lifters have failed and just completely wiped the cam out. Go to Comp or Morell lifters they make excellent lifters. ( yes ls7 use to be the best lifters for these trucks but the past 2-3 years they have fallen and now there just trash in my opinion, morell and comp make a great lifter for these trucks)
I would definitely get a bigger stall converter for the transmission. Helps retain that drivability you want.

Couldn’t agree more keep it leveled but I like the idea of paint matching some bits on it as well
I think maybe a 4in RC lift would be kinda nice just to get to be able to stuff a lil bigger of a tire but keep the same look.
That vette though.🤩

I’m really grateful for your approach to truck mods and info. Great videos, I have a 03 sierra that you’ve helped me get started on 👍🏽

Excited to see Chomper actually chomp lol 😂. Hopefully it’s put it soon bro!
You should do 0-60s with it before and after the cam
You deserve more than 127k subs. Your channel is top notch.
can’t wait to see it done, only thing i would have added was new push rods
Bro is like the Hank Hill of modern trucks
Love this truck bro
I’m honestly curious to see how that cam works out! I got a 93 single cab Obs I plan on eventually doing a ls swap in and hopefully it gives me a idea
Please go over how much it costs to get done at a shop
This truck gets better and better
Cammed bubba truck with a slight lean I love it that can haul ass what’s more perfect 👍🏾 😊
Theres a shop in Houston that I follow on fb and they’ve been running that chopacabra cam a lot lately and it sounds pretty mean. Can’t wait to hear yours and see how it does

Elvis custom tuning. I think they got a RUclips channel too

Need to put some 15-18 highcountry mirrors on it I’ve wanted to do it with mine but not completely sure how

Can’t wait to hear it looking to do one soon on a 4.8 Silverado
Its gonna look nice bro 😎. Keep up the good work🔥
💪love to see it!
Get her a Tahoe!
Great info, should work on my 07' 5.3 huh?
Keep up the good work
Looks and sounds great. What wheels are on the truck? and size nittos?
im new to truck stuff so i was curious i know a cam adds horse power and sound but whats the negatives, mpg reliability things like that
truck norris was my choice, but hey i hope you get the best performance you can
Does the truck Norris chop loud? I’m looking to put one in my 2000 Silverado
@@Southrn_Maniacyago depends on your time and exhaust
That's going to be nice!
When u put something on your story that u bought something from texas speed i thought it was a supercharger for the 5.0
Firsttt!!! Love your content man
How much did it cost when you did the cat back true duals? I’m thinking about doing it to my 2000 Silverado. Thanks and love the videos!
A guy on RUclips called 454chuy ports and polishes throttle bodies, you should send him choppers to get it done.
Chopa Cabra....🤣🤣🤣
i feel like you should take the spare tire out from under it. it gives it a cleaner look
Camera quality looks better than usual
Nice house, nice cars and trucks, what do you do for a living?
Spray foam 59k a month
Lorin in a cammed GMC Yukon I can see it 😂
Bout to be fire
Your gonna get me in trouble with my gf after I heard the total price😂 I’ve got an 06 black z71 Tahoe and I think this is my next step lol
Shoulda got pushrods and trunions IMO
Can you post the link the to cam and everything you got ?
If you do a stall go ahead and upgrade to a 4L80
Where you order the cam from
I miss Larry bubba
As soon as theres a bigger stall and its tuned ill be waiting to see they video “chompers trans said goodbye” 😂
Maybe, just maybe… street truck content? Lowered and cammed 👀
Hard rocks on chomper

How much was the kit?

4L80e conversation. Or get the 4L60e built

There is a timing cover gasket you have in the box. I'm excited to see what it does to your truck.
Please do supercharger!!!
Why no pushrods?
That cam has quite a bit of overlap, not really suitable for a 5500 lbs daily. Gears will definitely be needed.
I've never heard a Cammed Cateye!
But his ain't a cateye
@@RustyTurkey. same engine and tranny
@@05cateye96 yeah I know
Do you know if it’d fit a 4.8 possibly?
It should or they should have one made for the 4.8
Do you think you’d ever buy a 2008-2013 Silverado? I personally have one and have so many mixed emotions about it.
Yes It’s definitely on my want list 👍🏻
Do not put a lift on this. The level with these wheels are perfect
I say leave the truck as is. That bubba style is clean! Just go over the small details
@lmfscrew put a cam in the ford
