    Of course, you’ve heard about Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Pinot Noir. But what are they exactly? and why do they matter?
    Well, I’m going to tell you all about it, or almost!
    As usual, I will break things down into 3 small and digestible chapters for you. First, we will look at what are these grape varieties. Then we will consider where the most popular ones come from and why, before, eventually talk about why they actually matter for the taste of wine.
    00:00 - Grapes & Wine Wine Intro
    01:15 - What are wine grape varieties?
    04:14 - Where do grapes come from?
    07:45 - Why grapes matter?

    If it's not a problem for you please, what else should I do with the grapes I picked from the garden? I have to rely on wild yeast because there is no corporate yeast in my country.

      With the greatest of respect, monsieur, you’re probably a sommelier. I‘ve been fortunate to have experienced organised fine wine and Champgne tastings at Epernay in France and Stellenbosch in South Africa. Please do more of these expertly presented and educational postings. Bonne santé.🙏🍷🇬🇧🌞🍇🙏

    Georgia has more variety of grapes. Also, the wine was made there long time ago, even before France was making any wines.

    Isn't Gewurztraminer italian?

    • @YouTubeJulien
      @YouTubeJulien  Год назад +2

      hi there, it sounds like the family of grapes it belongs to originated in Tramin, which is in a small German speaking part of Italy. Gewurz means spices in German. The grapes has been mainly grown in Germany and Alsace though for quite a while :) Hope this helps
