Neat seeing how it's done in Texas. I have a few questions. What is the white liner over the soil and why? To keep moisture from creeping up into and through the concrete? Also no pre-poured footings, no need as no frost? Love to build something like this in Canada, but have to build to -40 specs. Thanks and great video!
Wheeler Sabot yes thank you. Not much frost in Texas. Our footings are poured with grade beams and main foundation all in one. If we were doing piers then typically would do prior to main pour. Thanks again!
Depends on what you are doing. . You can have it: fast and good or good and cheap or cheap and fast... but you can't have it fast and good and cheap. . And you can make it so cheap that it fails in a week...
It's what's called a monolithic pier and beam pour. Because it's a barndominium I'm assuming it's a preengineered metal building so the "beefier" metal will tie into the foundation walls, also - part of it is shop, so they want to have enough strength to hold some shop stuff. Looks like #5 on 12" centers with 24" footings with a 4" slab, probably 4000 psi concrete. Did you have to use a retarder with the heat? Hope you don't get any cold joints. Do you do a patterned sawcut to do a acid stain and polish?
Great job i love your videos ..
Is this foundation used because you’re going with red iron? Also, how would you know when to use piers?

@@TexasBestBarndominium Thank you for the reply
How many yards of concrete did that foundation take?
What is cheaper per square foot? Concrete masonary unit or concrete?
Depends on what you are doing.

Thank you!
Where are the new videos
We post videos every week
No mesh? Whats with the giant ditches in the slab? Plan on parking a 747 on that thing?
All of our slabs are engineered so we built it to the specs in this case.
