    "You betcha!" 😎 👍
Fun Fact: The role of Carl Showalter was written specifically for Steve Buscemi.
As Written Fact: William H. Macy stated in an interview that, despite evidence to the contrary, he did hardly any ad-libbing at all. Most of his character's stuttering mannerisms were written in the script exactly the way he does them in the film.
Background Creation Fact: Joel Coen had Frances McDormand and John Carroll Lynch conceive a back-story for their characters to get the feel of them. They decided that Marge and Norm met while working on the police force, and when they were married, they had to choose which one had to quit. Since Marge was a better officer, Norm quit and took up painting.

9:14 The parking lot he wanted to buy cost a million bucks. He needed both the $320K from the cars and the $750K he had hoped to borrow from his father-in-law in order to buy it.

when I was a child I've seen this movie and the only thing I remember is a dog in a bag getting set on fire, kinda traumatised me, don't remember anything else about it

I mean to be fair to the wife, what would you do if someone came right up to the window in broad daylight in cold weather dressed like that? For one, I would think, surely this idiot isn’t about to break in? Hopefully that mask is just for the cold? Or something! One could run to call the police, who sometimes do absolutely nothing, especially if she just reports some (race unidentified 🙃) dude standing outside. Even if they raced over, they would most likely arrive too late.
She could try running out the other door! But of course, someone was there, and it’s possible if the man saw her movement, he would just run to the other door right away. It’s a very funny moment, though tense for the character. But waiting to see what he would do before mindlessly reacting (even if she was more frozen in fear and confusion) was probably the more tactical choice.

Yeah you're right, she didn't really have anywhere to go and plus you never know what you'd do till you're in that situation
