I've work a few years at a airport and can explain why. If the firealarm, or any kind of alarm which makes the airport have to evacuete people, all flight statuses will automatcily be delayed. So this is acually more accurate than if the flight statuses was unchanged:)
Fun fact, you don't actually have to shoot in this mission. In fact, there is no incentives at all to shoot the civilians. Realistically, the game should make you shoot the civilian to convince Makarov, but that would make a controversial mission even more controversial
Nah, Makarov already knew that Allen was an undercover agent, don't think he'd care whether or not you shoot the civvies, as he was already planning on killing you at the van
Well Makarov can't be convinced becuase he already knows you're a yank, but I guess you might be right in thinking Allen* would think that would help somehow.
In my opinion, this scene is shocking, but it's not impactful because it doesn't matter in the end. Also you can just opt out of playing it entirely which in my eyes is just the game saying "this isn't important, even though we want to make it seem like it is."

I played this mission thinking “Oh free kills, easiest mission in the game” 😂 I remember trying to get a lot of kills in this mission. I did not go easy on these guys back then, I sprayed that gun everywhere lmao 💀

I am very well aware of MW2 plot and story line and have been since I was 12 years old. Only confusion in my case was that when he said "No Russian" I thought he meant like "Leave no Russian alive" which was kind of weird way of saying it but I went with it. Then my friend told me the true meaning of those words and it made much more sense. So I wanted to share my discovery here but bunch of you misunderstood what I meant. Having said that, there are bunch of people here in the comments that didn't understand the story line of the game which is too bad because, in my opinion, it is one of the best story lines in gaming history.

In all honesty, MW2 is the best moment of my gaming childhood. I had put in 800 hours into it and recently started playing IW4x. I forgot how MUCH fun this game is. I am glad you can still play it. The campaign is the best and so is the multiplayer. It's the best CoD of all time. You only need to remove noob tubing and claymore and it would be a perfect game in IW4x.

I remember playing this for the first time, pausing and looking at my screen like, damn I can't do this one. I have owned every version of this game since like 2003. Here it is 2022, some 13 years later and this is still the most disturbing scene the franchise has ever created.
People who weren't around in 2009 to play the original have no idea how big of a deal this was. This shit was all over the news, even outside gaming-related programs/channels. Activision & Infinity War took a BIG risk with this... to have a mission in which not only a terrorist mass-murder attack is shown, but to put the player into one of the terrorists' POV, possibly killing hundreds of innocent civillians, at that time, was a BOLD move. This would NOT have passed if it were released today. The remaster got away with it because it was, well, just a remaster, and still it sparked some controversy.

People who weren't around in 2009 to play the original have no idea how big of a deal this was. This shit was all over the news, even outside gaming-related programs/channels. Activision & Infinity War took a BIG risk with this... to have a mission in which not only a terrorist mass-murder attack is shown, but to put the player into one of the terrorists' POV, possibly killing hundreds of innocent civillians, at that time, was a BOLD move.
This would NOT have passed if it were released today. The remaster got away with it because it was, well, just a remaster, and still it sparked some controversy.
