I was about to say the same thing. A lot of ppl complain that Julia’s broken in Tekken 7 because of her combo damage and wall carry being better than ever before. What they don’t realize a lot of her pokes and mixups got nerfed in T7. She was goddess tier in Tekken 5 DR & 6.
This is standard practice with namco though, when a new character (in this case moveset) comes out, they make sure it's busted then the big nerf comes. They've done this with most new characters, infact i think Murray once said that they do it on purpose so people give the new characters a chance as it's more likely for someone to try a character if they're op. Sometimes the characters aren't op but strong and then get nerfed anyway even though it's not needed.
I started playing Jin in T5, when maining him and winning with him in the arcades earned you respect instead of disdain. T5 Jin was crap but fun. T5DR Jin was crap but was at least now winnable. T6 Jin was really fun to play because he was simple, straightforward and balanced. TTT2 Jin was strong, but still pretty balanced considering the BS that other characters were capable of. The one thing I loved about these iterations of Jin was that he was his own character and he was not meant to be played like the other Mishimas, or any other character. He was a frametrap, poke and punish based character in games where juggles were the norm. He didn't require godly execution to win. It fit quite well with his lore too. The T7 Jin is the strongest he's ever been without being broken, but now he is a Mishima through and through. I'm sure others love him now, or love him still, and I perfectly respect their opinions and tastes, but for me, T7 Jin isn't as fun for me as the previous Jins were.
