I found my major issue with FMQing. Seems I had to get used to controlling my speed with the pedal. I use an electric machine and only started sewing the beginning of the year. Now that I have more control of my speed I can finally FMQ. I inherited the machine from my Mom. I'm saving up for a new machine. We have a shop just for sewing machines and the guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. I think once I get a new machine things will go even better. I've decided I'm going to try to FMQ my next quilt. Wish me luck. corey
Consider the marking process as the warm up to the quilting process if you think and plan out how you are going to stitch the quilting the pattern as you mark it. xoxo from Arizona.
have you ever taken out the feed dogs? It is just one screw on that early rare vs2. I got a feed dog blank to put into the feed dog plate and took out the feed dogs on my 1893 singer vs2/27 square base. I see you ordered a new camera. I would have gone for the machines lol.
I prefer the feed dogs in....the little bit of drag helps prevent me from moving too fast....but I have a white rotary that I took the feed dogs out for embroidery
You are amazing... Such a great job you do... Just wondering what kind of leather you use... Looks very soft and manageable... Love your videos....thanks
I just bought my son an old Singer 99 so he can repair his snowboard stuff, do you think you could do leather on a 99? I really love your videos. You are amazing!
the 99 is a good little machine ( 3/4 sized version of the 66) I have done leather on my 66 so I imagine the 99 would work, but as with any domestic machine it needs to be a thin leather, I use upholstery weight leather or thinner.
Just gorgeous work, as always! I don't think I could talk while FMQ without losing my way :). And I think your video and audio quality is just fine.
thank you!!! I have had people tell me it it hard to hear me and sometimes that camera is not close enough.....or not focused on the right spot :)
Your such a talent! Always amazed at your work.
thanks!
Gorgeous 💕

yes it is a soft leather, this is sold as upholstery leather so it is not very thick, that is important when using a domestic machine.
