Curious as to why some martial art styles put their right foot forward and some mainly striking arts their left foot forward for being right handed? Would it then be harder to combine both styles?

Judo differs from striking because you want you strong hand in front, whereas with striking your strong hand tends to be back.
You can either learn to strike as a southpaw, learn left handed Judo, or just switch stance as you come in to grapple.
