    I just worked on a film set last night and about two thirds of cast and crew were vegan or vegetarian. For lunch we had wraps -there was a huge cake-sized container of falafels and a small takeaway container of shredded chicken. At the end of lunch the falafels were all gone, but the chicken was barely touched.

    I watched earthlings and I have been vegan for almost a month now. It feels great. Whenever I crave meat, I watch earthlings and it stops me. I am not completely vegan as I still use Maybelline foundation. I'm waiting for it to finish so I can buy cruelty free makeup. I'm a student so I dont have enough money to just throw an almost full foundation. Dont hate please. Im trying.

      Andrew Tucker I'm trying. I haven't eaten meat products for 2 months now. But I failed for the dairy products.
      I have decided to go slow now as previously when I tried to be vegan, I went too hard on myself and ended up eating meat again. So now I'm a vegetarian but possibly in a few months, when my meat cravings stop, I'll stop having dairy too.

    We had an amazing Cube Of Truth in Trier, Germany yesterday! I spoke to soooo many people who are open and receptive to try to live vegan after watching the footage and listening to what we have to say about it.
    One guy tho, was claiming in Holland they treat the animals SO much better up until they ....
    And he wouldn't finish his sentence, so I helped him out and said "up until they KILL them ...?"
    He said "well yes but it is in a nice way. They give them a shot and they go to sleep"
    I told him I used to want to believe that too but that it was not the case. No animal for food is euthanized or killed with hugs.
    Then he said the vegan version of stake doesn't taste the exact same as the "real thing". I told him he could shop around until he found one he liked. And asked if that brief moment of pleasure was worth taking an animal's life over.
    He got quiet. Then said "Well now you have made me think about it in this way, I don't have an answer"
    He took a AV card and said he was going to try and make a change!

      @marliesvdlangemheen 6 лет назад

      Good job! And yeah we all want to believe that they are treated well and that they're killed in a friendly way. But there is no way to friendly take the life of an animal that doesn't want to die and doesn't have to to die. The media and stuff just closes our eyes to what really goes on. But I'm thankful that I know this now, cause now I can do something with it. Btw I live in Holland and in my family they own a cows dairy farm and a goats dairy farm. Where I first found nothing that could ever be wrong with it, now I see what horrible kinda stuff goes on in there and it disgusts me.

    I'm 12 years old and recently went vegetarian once I had been educated on the treatment of animals. I want to be vegan and do something for the animals, but my whole family is eating meat and it's hard enough for my mum as it is for them to cook dinners for both me and the rest of them. I'm starting to feel disgusted when I eat milk and eggs bug I'm limited for choice as a child in my family and I can't buy my own food and my parents can't afford to buy all of it and insist on eating meat. I can't wait until I can buy my own food ☺️☺️😂

      Keep showing your parents the truth. You can be a great example. Parents feel like they know more than you and in this case you found some information out that they don't understand. The best things in life are gonna take extra effort. Stay positive and keep making the world and your life better.

    • @misheckardt4365
      @misheckardt4365 7 лет назад +7

      Good on you for your own decisions and for trying to tell your family about it! I know it's super hard on you but it is also very hard on your family to cook separate meals for each member of the household too, so I totally understand their standpoint. If only you were all vegan! Now wouldn't that be great. In the meantime though, try and eat as much vegan food as you possibly can and I know you're only 12 and I'm not sure about how much (or how good you are) at cooking, but perhaps you can offer to go grocery shopping with your parents sometime or ask if you can cook a vegan meal together? Try not to be pushy about it because you might just annoy them and make it harder on yourself, but if you gently introduce it and they can see that vegan food can actually taste really good, is so much more ethical, healthier and is also a lot cheaper sometimes too, then maybe they will start cooking more vegan food at home too :) Good luck!

    • @maxdustycake
      @maxdustycake 6 лет назад +1

      Yeh I guess the situation is pretty difficult. You have to keep it going smoothly as keeping a constructive dialogue is of prior importance. People eat meat for taste, convenience, sometimes gluttony. So, from my experience, a common entrance to veganism is through that door. Try to pick easy comfort recipes on youtube and suggest to your parents to cook it with them. Or, you cloud suggest to your family a vegan dinner per week or whatsoever and prepare them kickass recipes so that they wait for this day all the week. Fake meat recipes are the more likely to appeal to non-vegan ;). Check "avantgarde vegan" channel. nice stuff there

      Vidushi See: Why not do it yourself. Joey has videos that teach how he does his activism. There are other resources online as well. If you can't afford laptops and tablet computers to have the video of how animals are treated, you can get pictures of it, make large prints and glue them to cardboard or stiff cardstock so you can simply hold them up as witness to the brutality that goes into supplying meat, eggs and dairy. Maybe get some like minded people together and have a "cube of truth" in a public space and challenge people to really think about where their food comes from.

    Joey, i unsubscribed from your chanel a couple of years ago because i didn't like the way you expressed yourself or how you shared the message. I`m glad you are polishing your activism and finding who you are and how to get the message across, for that... I subscribe to your channel again. Keep it up brother!

    Fantastic job! Paleo question: What did cavemen eat before they discovered fire and weapons? RAW PLANTS! -- they certainly didn't catch wild animals with bare hands and eat them raw! Paleo Myth: They never needed to eat meat to 'survive'

      ORIGINAL Lone Wolf Vegan Warrior meat was a last resort after the ice age and there was a lack of vegetation, before that though we were practically vegans

      ORIGINAL Lone Wolf Vegan Warrior We evolved on tropical fruits, we only resorted to eating other things when we migrated to colder climates

      For whatever reason they decided to add corpses to the menu, it's funny how advocators of Paleo pick the cavemen who ate meat instead of the ones who didn't. They ignore the fact that cavemen first ate raw plants and they obviously survived & thrived just fine.

      There is a lot of evidence that hominids ate "underground storage organs" or USOs. That is tubers, roots, corms and bulbs, what we call potatoes, root vegetables, onions, ginger and the like that plants used to store energy underground and away from most herbivores. These were food sources that were not widely eaten by other animals and so when these human ancestors developed digging tools they were able access this largely untapped source of calories. Current day evidence supporting this are bands of chimpanzees that live at the extreme edge of their range where the open savanna and the forest meet and mix together. This landscape has thousands of pounds per acre edible USOs. These chimps have been observed to use simple sticks and bark to dig up shallow rooted USOs. They still can't get to the deeper buried ones because their tools aren't strong enough. Plus they only dig very close to safe nesting trees where they can eat the food in safety. It isn't hard to imagine an evolutionary path where some groups of hominids had mutations that resulted in a hand better adapted to grip a digging stick, a more upright stance so they could walk further distance with their hands full of USOs and slightly bigger brains capable of figuring out how to make stronger digging sticks to get at the deeper rooted USO. Keep repeating this over thousands of generations and you end up with homo erectus who already had a brain nearly the size of ours. Finally this big brained hominid was able to figure out how to make stone tools, especially stone tipped spears, and how to control fire. This finally allowed them to kill and cook larger animals and so they finally the ability to add significant amounts of meat came into the human diet, but at nearly at the end of the evolutionary process, not at the beginning.

    This is the sort of stuff I need to see once in a while. Sometimes all the walls and defensiveness and aggression that people show because of veganism get me so emotionally drained. It's hard knowing about all this immense large-scale pain of animals and people won't even listen, won't even try. Just makes me feel so hopeless at times.

    When do you think we will reach critical mass? You can see that the movement is growing so much and that in these videos you can tell that this is gaining more traction more and more people are watching the screens for extended periods which is making others feel that it's socially acceptable the right thing to do The same. Like how the fuck could somebody walk by that shit and not fucking stop?

    • @TechTins_Projects
      @TechTins_Projects 7 лет назад

      The idea of veganism has recently gone exponential. Critical mass occurred around 2016. Have a look for yourself. bit.ly/2fXgUB5

I play these at home sometimes to create discussion... they have helped my mother go vegan and the last video really reached my sister. You explain things so perfectly. It helps that you acknowledge who you once were, that you were just like them. Really helps people relate and gets them on side not on the offense

    That was lovely, he was so receptive on the information and he wasn't afraid to show his true feelings. I don't know what happens inside our souls but the moment you're able to be receptive of the truth is the moment your life changes. Never thought I would be a vegan I used to take the piss out of vegans but here I am obsessed with the vegan life and hungry to play my part in making people aware. Great work joey you're inspirational.

      Quentin "milk" chocolate and I used to be best friends. When I tried to be vegan before the thought of it overcame my desire to be compassionate. That's how bad a girl likes chocolate. Anyyyways. This time was different. I found coconut bliss dark chocolate ice cream and decided to try a dark 70% bar and omg. I regret not trying it before. I allowed more suffering for that addiction. Definitely mention good things to eat on site

      I’ve actually found milk in some brands of dark chocolate too
      plus, generally people don’t eat dark chocolate but milk chocolate or white chocolate
      he did later said that there are vegan alternatives for everything, so that would include chocolate too
