Way to get eye 👁️ level with the deer 🦌 and eventually make the most of it. Even more of a heart pounding 💗 experience that way. Congrats on an awesome old buck 😃🏹🦌
congratulations , all the hard work paid off Beautiful old buck ,great video and congratulations to you and Cole on getting your farm ,this on the ground hunt is so much more exciting then watching a hunt from a tree stand , fair chase I think ,
Great hunt on a great old western KA buck. I've enjoyed your tv show for years, especially when your Dad is on. He and I have been bow hunting for a long time. I started seriously bow hunting in 1970, and have been obsessed with hunting big bucks the whole time. Thanks and good luck as you go forward with your new farm.
That buck living to 9.5 is literally insane. True warrior of whitetails. You may never get a chance at a buck at that age again! Congrats on a great rare hunt! Cant wait for the next t one!
Always a great show! Thanks for keeping it real and fun. If you want the challenge of a lifetime, come and hunt a coastal NC deer! Love the show! Keep up the great work!
It is a small world, my sister is married to one of Bruce’s nephews. I have had several shoulder mounts done by him. He is known as one of the best taxidermist there is. Awesome deer, cool to shoot an old giant. I killed an 8.5 year old buck this fall, they are just a different beast
That shot was far from a smoked him shot. hitting mid body is definitely not an ideal shot, looked like a slight quartering too but glad you found him tho. Beautiful buck!
I’ve never read so many hateful comments in my life. The world is full of haters these days……tons of them in the hunting community. You do you and stay in your lane.
I would have fixed the tines as well. Having the pictures of exactly what they looked like means you restore him back to his original state, which is the goal of taxidermy. Congrats on closing the chapter.
I personally don’t agree. He is how he is when you shoot him. Accept him in all his current glory. Everyone wants it “to look how he looked”, and I get that. But the busted tines are who he was. If that’s not good enough for you, let him walk
These are the ones that are similar to what Ty has. They don't make the original ones he bought anymore. Unfortunately these ones are out of stock right now but it says to keep checking back for updates. www.bearclawtreesteps.com/purchase.php
Great hunting…. But, what’s with showing the buck… right up to the shot??? It is taking the excitement out of watching…. And everybody’s doing it!?!!! So aggravating!!! I want to be gripped to the TV when the moment of truth arrives…!?!!🤔🤔🤔😖😖😖
Remaking the bucks broken rack is ridiculous. Leave it how it was when you shot him. But I guess to which your own. Seems like most all my bucks are broke up I kill. Love the battle scars and missing tines.
Goes both ways could be showing respect to the buck by fixing them and making him the way he was at his prime or could be a disrespectful by taking away his battle scars
@@tripletoutdoors7044 That’s one way to look at it but that deer earned every point and batted and broke tines leave him the way he is not how you want him to look for you.
I have trail camera photos, field photos after I killed him and obviously this video to know what he was after he broke it all off. I will never claim to have killed him with all of his tines but I did want to see him with them unbroken which is why I had them fixed. Definitely goes both ways and at the end it was my decision to make. Thanks for watching - Shawn

It was a blessing and most certainly a rarity! The odds are stacked against deer to make it to that age.

Really appreciate it! Sounds very challenging! Never hunted that far east.
Great buck and great hunt Shawn and Chandler. Congratulations!

Why didn’t you go for it ?
Yes… I did! I simply don’t like how they show everything leading up to the shot…!?!🤔🤔🤔

I think it has something to do with the RUclips algorithm. Apparently you get more views when you do it that way
Just a teaser to get people hooked!
wtf... you "fixed" the rack? This is beyond silliness. Just be proud of the animal you harvested.
I am proud of him fixed or unfixed. I’ve never done it before and probably won’t do it again. It’s really not that big of a deal either way.
Remaking the bucks broken rack is ridiculous. Leave it how it was when you shot him. But I guess to which your own. Seems like most all my bucks are broke up I kill. Love the battle scars and missing tines.
Putting points or tines back on I’m sorry is crap though. You mount how you take him. Damn that sucks to see. Anyway good shot.
