not a bad job for someone who did not really know what he was doing, a lot like me. what gets me every time I see a yard like this amongst those "perfect" yards is "why did they not pitch in to help this poor lady over the years?" it would have made the neighborhood look so much better. keep up the good work Nick!!
Nick please stop worrying about things not turning out beautiful--the change you have made is just incredibly awesome! You're a good man and I know that you will be well-blessed for your kindness!
What a lovely person you are, to do all you have done in the pouring rain, I take my hat off to you. So kind and determined, don't pull yourself down, you wouldn't get many people even working in that awful weather. Can't wait for the next one.Well done.
Hi Mate, I've a brand new petrol lawn mower here never used. Because of you helping others I will gladly let you have it for free!!!. The only thing is you would have to pick it up, I can't drive as I'm very poorly myself, sorry Mate. But if you want a brand new Petrol Mower then it's yours.
Oh wow, what a lovely gesture Andrew. I'd love to give that lawn a going over when I go back. Would you mind emailing me on info@prestige-externalcleaning.co.uk and we can discuss it further. I'd say put your contact details on here and i'll contact you, but you might get some random people contacting you. Many thanks, Nick
If this nice man is anywhere near you, take him up on this! Lawn service needs a mower and most gardens in England aren’t big enough for more than a push mower. What great offer. ❤❤❤
Landscaping in the rain makes everything twice as heavy and takes twice as long if not more. You did a wonderful thing for this lady and a great job! Really looking forward to part 2 😊👍 Loved you dumping your boots 😂 been there, I could totally empathize.
You did a great job Nick! Not bad for your first go. It totally sucked that it rained all day, many would have called it quits, but you ROCK!! You are an awesome man Nick!! You changed her front yard into something so much more manageable. And I knew you would do something about the gutters when you saw them blocked. Can't wait for part 2 😊😊💖💖
For future reference, roses do wonderful if you prune them hard back at this time of the year to about 12 inches tall. do not be afraid to prune them, Also all ivy is poisonous so wear gloves when removing it, some people don't react, but some do! , lumps in the grass are from moles! thank you for helping this Lady.
You may be on a learning curve with this type of work, but I watch a lot of gardening clean ups and they mostly stop when it rains, but you just ploughed on. Well done.
Doing anything is helpful to that lady. Don’t worry about perfection when it comes to trimming those shrubs. Ideally, when they’re so overgrown and with no green at the base, you can cut them down to about 6 inches, and in spring there’ll be new growth at lower level. Still, looks so much better now. Nice work. As for the strimmer guard, I hate the bloody things. They don’t half get in the way. Although they do stop debris flying into your shins at warp speed!!
Great job Nick, never any fun doing a job like that in those weather conditions🌧☔, I admire you for carrying on. Keep up the good work mate 🎥, and loving all of your videos. Take care mate..
If you do think you could do with some pointers, there are 3 guys on here who are in Australia, ‘Tim the lawnmower man’ ‘Quick cuts’ and mowing for mental health, they’re very good at what they do, however you did a great job, keep going, the more you do the better at you get, I always say 😊
ditto to what all the other commenters said. i think you did a wonderful job. surprised me that you formed those bushes into something appealing to the eyes. thanks for the gutter repair. get one of those blade things to attach to your whipper to knock down those tall grass. your a hero for continuing the job thru all that rain. in America they wouldn't have continued. Nice toys. i am sure she is so grateful someone cared enough to bless her with a clean yard. looking forward to part 2. cut that tree back alot or even get ride of it. too much greenery on that side.
Something a bit different... well past due... great work... always trying to beat the weather... consider undercutting the plants as well (draw the hedger up and out from the main trunk), to give an open base and make it easier to deal with the lawn and edges, as well as a more distinct shape... and the guards on the machinery are a legal obligation to be able to sell them.. like the reflectors on bike wheels... what you do with it after you buy it is up to you... it does open up the view of the work you are trying to get done... by the end of your video, I was cold and feeling wet and in need of a cup of tea... what a trooper you are...
This was an interesting surprise, and the place does need a lot of backlog fixed and will take courage. Glad you have something you like to do you find fun. I think the plant near the driveway entrance is a form of Juniper and should overall shear o.k. Underestimating time is common. Persist to the end and it doesn't matter. I'm impressed you made a reasonable shape out of the ungainly mass already. A lawn fortunately can help repair itself if mown about every week when growing. It is triggered to develop a branching structure in the base. You've won hero awards sticking with working there in the rain for hours, and for noting a blocked roof gutter and fixing it. (Humorous where a pipe was stuffed w/ moss.) You've done a miraculous level of work already, don't run yourself down. It is getting to be a funny level of rain but you keep working. The lady has a "new" yard so far and will be feeling much better with view, space, morale. Thank you. Looking to more of your adventure. (You are DONE for the day and now the rain quits???) Oh dear, I outright laughed when you took your boots/wellies off.
Awesome job Nick! The UK weather has been vile for the last couple of weeks and most people would have given up! Hope you and your wellies are dry now. Look forward to part 2, and hope the weather is kinder next time xx
Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate your kindness. Wellies are pretty much dry now, but only just, took absolutely ages to get them completely dry, nothing worse that soggy wellies 🤣
The best thing to do is get a gardening app that will identify the plants and describe their care. Oh and always remove ivy if you can, lol Those look more like mole hills to me!
Hello Sir Nick. Diversification is good. And "Little Blessings Jobs," make it all worth while. It's nice to see you doing something a little different than just rooves and drives, yes ?? And you did this job in the British rain no less, so Kudos to you. You did a fine job, on your first spin at a garden that wasn't your own !!! Well Done Sir Nick !!
Well done bud, i love it when theres a freebie job sor someone in need especially when it shows that no matter how.bad the weather, you're not stopping. God bless you my friend
That was a fantastic job Nick! You gave her back her entry way! That is such a stress reliever for the elderly. A couple of tips to make life easier on you(gardening is our family business for several generations), hedge trimmers work best when you make bottom to top strokes, steel rakes are better for gathering around the bushes and edges and on grass, leaf rakes are good for leaves and lightweight clippings. Flip your long hedge trimmer head over when you install it, that way the adjuster bar isn't in your way. Overall, for someone who hasn't been gardening for a career, you did amazing, especially with the rain interfering! Well done! I'm looking forward to part 2! Hope you were able to eventually dry out, those were some seriously water filled boots!
Hey Emma, thanks so much, that's super kind of you to say. I really appreciate all the useful tips, and i've certainly taken it all on board. I didn't realise I was using the cutting head the wrong way around the whole time I was working, but yes it's clear as day on the video, what was I thinking 😄. Thanks again for the helpfully kind comment 💕
Aww bless you for doing that for the lady. I love that people like yourself are going out helping people in need , such a beautiful thing to do. Restores your faith in humans which is so badly needed in these times .
I think you are accomplishing a lot! Had her neighbors helped to keep things cut all along, the severe cutting back wouldn't have been necessary. But you have the determination to do what needs to be done. I wish I were there to help.
Nick, what a star you are! Absolutely amazingly kind gesture, looked so much better once you'd finished. As someone mentioned below, I think with rose bushes, cut them back to near stumps. thats what I always did when I owned a house and they always grew back quickly the next year (although you may want to double check that ;) ) thanks as ever for the upload, have a great week!
Aw cheers Al as always 😍. Thanks for the advice on the rose bushes, i've since learned that you're absolutely correct, they like a hard prune to flourish the following year, much appreciated mate, see you next time 👍
Amazing job!! It may not 'look' great to you but I can see it's already improved 100% by trimming down what you could. It definitely is way more difficult to do yard maintenance in the rain but i love how you kept on going! I'm sure the neighbors will appreciate this yard being tidied up for the community and the home owner will have one less stress all thanks to you. Looking forward to the next part! ❤🎉
Great job Nick! You shaped those buses very well. And the front walk looks so much neater. It is near to impossible to mow in the rain, so a mower would not have worked as you would have just had deep wheel tracks going across the grass. When it drys out it will look better and the grass will spring back up again and may even cover the muddy places. You did great with your edging too. A bit more practice and no one but us will know you are new to it. Looking forward to Part 2 when you can get to it. This was a really nice thing to do and in the pouring rain you didn't stop. Take care you don't get sick. See you next time!😁
Well done buddy you’ve gone above and beyond and done a good job you should be very proud of yourself wow wow great video need more good people like yourself in the community it’s a big thanks from me for sure ❤️👍🙏😊
Thank you Nick for doing this. You are such a trooper overcoming the rain, mud and the clogged gutter. For a “first timer” you did very well. It will look better in the next few weeks. Prune that rose bush so it can grow nicely in the spring. I’m looking forward to the next visit. Greetings from New York.
Good on you there Nick, most would of gone home, but you worked on through that rain, that was more like a force 10 gail, top man Nick, well done pal 👍
Great job ! I think the roses need to be pruned pretty hard for them to grow back thick and healthy …… but I’m no expert , just what I’ve found over the years that works 😊
Nick absolutely love that you are helping ppl, making their lives easier!!! Missed the pressure washing today but loved the transformation!!! I also loved that you didn’t put music in your video today!!!!
Many thanks mate, I really appreciate that. Next time for the driveway pressure washing, should be a awesome transformation. I thought you might enjoy the lack of music in this one ✊
Helping others is the most wonderful thing. Since watching your video, I have learned many beautiful things from you. Thank you for helping them and teaching me how to help others as well.
Awesome, thank you Sylvia, so glad you're on board with it. Have been getting way more thumbs down than I normally would, but hey, you can't please everyone. Thanks so much for the lovely comment 😍
I hate to say this but the long reach cutting head is on upside down spin it 180 degrees and you will have the flat side to cut facing the right way and the handle for adjusting the angle won't get in the way
🤦🏻♂️ what a numpty I am, I had no idea while I was working, how could I have not noticed that 🤦🏻♂️. Appreciate you being kind about it, and not taking the p**s 🫶
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning not a problem I had to look a few times as it did look cackhanded lol but can't go wrong with Stihl gear it's all I run and honda for mowers , you made that much harder on yourself doing it in the rain though but needs must and a massive improvement for the owners too love your vids I do pressure washing myself but not roof cleans need more money for big money equipment to take that on
I’m not a big fan of moles, they leave carnage in their wake. So glad you pulled that ivy off before it became an issue! And hats off to you for your kindness, helping others!
You done a great job for your first venture into garden clearance, you could go to a garden supply company see if they would be willing to sponsor you with the mower problem, they might help you if they get a mention in the video just a thought. The weather didn’t help you at all either and the welly boots full of water made me laugh out loud thought I’d woke the wife up 🤣 any way mate brilliant you are helping this lady out you deserve any help that comes your way, if I was closer I’d have gave you a hand ….. very well done 👏👏👍
I watch a lot of lawn & garden videos. You did a lovely job for a first timer and your conditions were awful. Also, in the hundreds of these videos that I’ve watched I have never seen that many anthills on one small lawn! I’m looking forward to part two. And you need to get before pics to go with the after ones at the end of the video.
As another Robert said below, looks like a Juniper bush at the end of the driveway. Nice work on the cleanup so far, Nick! Good on you for pushing through the rain! I'm sure it's not an unusual problem to have when trying to get work done outdoors in the UK!
Thank you so much! You remind me of Ben from Flawless Cleaning (UK) - he has a pressure washing business too and when he sees need he helps. He is also doing much needed and appreciated gardening work now. Another hero of mine is Midlife Stockman (US). You gentlemen all rock! ❤
I'm so glad you got tools as the other roof patio guys , sometimes cut back on overgrowth and you look good ,very professional to me , good job like your videos I'm from so cal usa
Hello Nick, greetings to you from Ottawa Canada. I have just subscribed to your vlog. Great job you are doing under difficult work conditions that would challenge any professional gardener.,but you stuck with it. Well done. 💯 I am really looking forward to part 2.😁
Such a nice thing you have done. I was so glad when I saw you put your boots on after you took off the trimmer guard. Kept your legs from getting scratched up from debris however didn't do much good keeping the water out... LOL I can't image the color of the wash water from your work clothes.
Nick you are an awesome guy 😍 to continue to do the best you could in the pouring down rain is actually a credit to you. In reality most lawn care guys would have stopped once it became obvious it was going to be bad but your didn't. Hey on the plus side the rain meant you were able to see how bad the guttering was and fix some of it. I look forward too part 2 and remember it was your first time and easy to underestimate the amount of work heck Ben at Flawless still underestimates it and he has been doing it for around a year WITH help 😂 If ever you are up North nr Washington you and your family are welcome to pop in for a cuppa (take it as you find it tho I am extremely limited mobility wise 😂😂). Love and hugs to you all 🤗🤗
Hey Polgara, awww you always make me feel good about a job, even if i'm not totally happy about the result. I was thinking next time i'm there I should really do something about that one side of gutter, as i'm thinking i might be able to unclog it or maybe divert the pipe to somewhere else. I'll definitely take you up on that if i'm up your way, that would be lovely. Bless your kindness, see you next week, big hugs to you too 🥰
Good Lord, I was tired just watching this episode. 😩 You did a great job, though. 👍🏼👍🏼 Can't wait to see part 2. Also, nice haircut. Thanks for caring and sharing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Helping others is the most wonderful thing. Since watching your video, I have learned many beautiful things from you. Thank you for helping them and teaching me how to help others as well.
Yeahhhh! You did it, I mean this new kind of video, I'm only at 1:20 and guess what?! I'm going to looooove it 😁 thanks sooo much Mr Prestige 🤩👍👏👌💚
Awesome, thank you Sylvia, so glad you're on board with it. Have been getting way more thumbs down than I normally would, but hey, you can't please everyone. Thanks so much for the lovely comment 😍
Fair play for helping her out mate! Good job!
Thanks mate ✊
Thanks so much for helping the sweet lady and sticking it out through the rain.
Nick, you're a true gentleman
Nice one mate, all the best bud ✊
I hate to say this but the long reach cutting head is on upside down spin it 180 degrees and you will have the flat side to cut facing the right way and the handle for adjusting the angle won't get in the way
🤦🏻♂️ what a numpty I am, I had no idea while I was working, how could I have not noticed that 🤦🏻♂️. Appreciate you being kind about it, and not taking the p**s 🫶
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning not a problem I had to look a few times as it did look cackhanded lol but can't go wrong with Stihl gear it's all I run and honda for mowers , you made that much harder on yourself doing it in the rain though but needs must and a massive improvement for the owners too love your vids I do pressure washing myself but not roof cleans need more money for big money equipment to take that on
You certainly did very well in a rainy day .... Good job..❤👍 From Canada.
Thank you Laura 😃
I’m not a big fan of moles, they leave carnage in their wake. So glad you pulled that ivy off before it became an issue! And hats off to you for your kindness, helping others!
I always thought they were cute. But then, we don't have them in New Zealand 😊
Thanks ever so much for the brilliant feedback, I really appreciate it Molly ✊
I think they are molehills! We don't really have a lot of ants like that in the UK! But the moles are little blighters, they can decimate a lawn,
Nice job, I hear even Charlie Dimmock is a fan!
🤣
As another Robert said below, looks like a Juniper bush at the end of the driveway. Nice work on the cleanup so far, Nick! Good on you for pushing through the rain! I'm sure it's not an unusual problem to have when trying to get work done outdoors in the UK!
That was above and beyond mate. Great work. I think the only solution for the grassed area would be to rotavate it level and re turf.
What a trooper you are, even in the rain. Could you add links to the music you play? Thanks
Very kind of you, Nick! Good job, miserable weather 😢 Mole hills BTW!
Thanks very much Jenny ❤️
Great Job
Credit to you for staying out there in the rain. Well done. Especially getting up and at least sorting the gutters a bit.
Cheers Trish 🫶
Thank you so much! You remind me of Ben from Flawless Cleaning (UK) - he has a pressure washing business too and when he sees need he helps. He is also doing much needed and appreciated gardening work now. Another hero of mine is Midlife Stockman (US). You gentlemen all rock! ❤
You are so welcome! What a lovely comment, thanks so much ❤️
That's very nice job and amazing that you took the time god bless you
Thank you very much!
Great work Dean under trying conditions! Respect!
We don't have those "rain collector" boots in America.😂 I'm impressed with how much you did finish with all the rain.🎉 And I love your accent.❤
🤣 thanks Cynithia, boots are nearly dry all these days later......nearly 😔
Well done 👍
Top man, you would’ve taken away so much stress from her.
I really hope so 🙂
I'm so glad you got tools as the other roof patio guys , sometimes cut back on overgrowth and you look good ,very professional to me , good job like your videos I'm from so cal usa
Poor Sir, what an awful weather for your debut... still you have enjoyed playing with your new toys 😉👍
I certainly did Sylvia, I love 'em 💕
I look forward too part 2 and remember it was your first time and easy to underestimate the amount of work heck Ben at Flawless still underestimates it and he has been doing it for around a year WITH help 😂
If ever you are up North nr Washington you and your family are welcome to pop in for a cuppa (take it as you find it tho I am extremely limited mobility wise 😂😂).
Bless your kindness, see you next week, big hugs to you too 🥰
How wonderful that you’re blessing this lady with your help. I’m sure she truly appreciates it!!!❤❤❤❤❤
It looks so much better and I bet she is thrilled with the help. You are so sweet to help her! Have a great week and stay dry!
Thanks so much Toni, been positively dry as a bone this week, it's been amazing 😁❤️
Good Lord, I was tired just watching this episode. 😩 You did a great job, though. 👍🏼👍🏼 Can't wait to see part 2. Also, nice haircut. Thanks for caring and sharing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Denise ❤️, oh it's standard practice to get a have a fresh haircut when starting a new project 😆. It's looking like there's gonna be a part 3 when I offer to clean her roof. Big love, Nick.
Good on you mate 👏👏👏
Cheers Colin, I might be paying you a visit, to cut your lawn soon old timer 🤣
