I love big muffs for the low strings because that distortion is so damn good. but for some reason whenever I play the high strings with a muff it sounds like a freaking kazoo to me.
Hell yeah. Interviews explaining their gear would be great! Sweet pedal there. Just bought a Green Russian. Kind of wish I would have got this instead.
Great video. That pedal is killer. The differences are there, some more pronounced. On this one my favorite is the Ram's Head and the JHS is cool too. I own a reissue Green Russian and i know us doomy guys love it, i was underwhelmed with it in my setup. There isn't a ton of gain and if you turn up the gain it gets mushy. I was going to buy a Ram's head but decided on the Russian. I am going to flip it and either buy this pedal or the Ram's head. I like using muffs as boosts as well. Keep up the great work. I'm down with interviews and rig rundowns. Cheers
Great demo as usual. Too bad I only found out the Muffuletta after buying the EHX's BMP, BAT's Crown of Horns, and EQD's Hizumitas. But I don't think the Muffuletta can compete with the Hizumitas. And I am hesitant to buy JHS stuff simply because he has become one of the big boys of the pedal market like Wampler, meaning they won't specialize in the Stoner/ Doom/ Sludge market whereas the boutique builders do. Having said that, this pedal and his Rat clone are pretty good. You will be surprised how many Stoner, Stoner Doom, Doom, and Sludge genre guitarists use a BMP type of pedal for their sol dirt effects pedal.
Great video!!
That pedal is a huge amount of options. All of the settings sound fantastic. It also goes great with different amps.
It really does work well with multiple amps
This man has cost me more money in the last 3 months than all other channels put together over 10yrs 😂
Bwuahaha sith pedal lord
@@TheDistortionPrinciple man I bought the Sovtek Deluxe because of your review and am loving it. Your demos and reviews are great.
@@YummyMicroplastics thanks! One of the best ehx muffs out there!

Try neck pickups fot the high strings?
@@TheDistortionPrinciple I’ve tried, I’ve tried different pick ups as well. I just can’t get past hearing that kazoo sound 😅

I love that pedal. It stays on my studio board.
Such a good one!
i stack mine with a cheap fuzz pedal a buddy made me and gup teck grinder clone on the tc preamp setting and it gets real dooomy.
I bet that sounds massive
One muff to rule them all
Indeed!
The Digitech bad monkey can do this just as well apparently
Lol
I have it and its great!
Under the radar modern classic
Nice video
Thanks!
Truckfighters!!!
Mufalletta is great, but for me, it’s too much. I’m good with a pretty basic setup.
Awesome review! Cheers!
Im switching to a black russian!
Did you ever end up doing that pup swap on the Explorer?
No. I returned it for being microphonic. Looking towards an iommi sg hopefully enfdof the year
@@TheDistortionPrinciple Get a MIA Dunable Cyclops instead. Mine's got a maple top on a mahogany body, so basically a perfect SG/LP hybrid.
@@harryanderson7282 i definitely want to get my hands on a dunable
@@TheDistortionPrinciple Trust me when I tell you it's the guitar you want.
@@harryanderson7282 i have a local shop called Eddies. Very high end and they have an R2 for 2700. I should make an appointment to go try it out

I agree the muff and rat are two of the best pedals for the genre
No muff too tuff.
