Just a thought...check for leaks while you have the snout off, not after you've buttoned her back up. Looks like a very nice setup. Does it have a thermostat or is it wide open?
Hello Dick. This kit is available in both thermostatic and non-thermostatic varients. If you'd like any additional information, just check out the product page. www.mishimoto.com/subaru-brz-scion-fr-s-oil-cooler-kit-13.html
Hi Guyz, After installing the oil cooler, in 3 month when I will change my oil, how can we remove the oil inside the cooler ? is there a screw ? where it is ? Thanks Koj
+Dieygo A. There is not one. I have been searching the net. I want an oil cooler. Leaving a quart of dirty oil in the car every time I change the oil is not an option.
simply take off the the hoses and blow through one side lol. but yeah good question! I would imagine it would just drain most of it and if there is some left it gets filtered.
+Chris Schenk Lower oil temps instead of hovering at around 240 with hard driving it gets closer to 200. Above 230 the engine will start to cut timing and you'll lose power. I'm second guessing mishimotos kit however I've heard of very bad quality issues on our cars www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45538
Hello BRZ RN. My apologies, but I'm not entirely sure what holes you are referencing. Additionally, the outlet could be either side of the oil cooler in this instance.
***** Oil cooling is not a component that is specific to forced induction. Lower oil temperatures will promote improved lubrication and reduced engine wear on any type of internal combustion engine. We have found this upgrade to be very useful for those tracking their vehicle, driving aggressively, or for those in a warm climate. The Mishimoto oil cooler reduces and regulates oil temperatures in any of these conditions. Feel free to let me know if you have further questions. :)
+fatboy19831 Do you have the mishimoto? I found an awesome price from someone on the forums but have heard some horror stories about mishimoto products
851995STARGATE Price and weight. No they would not put one on at the factory. The take rate would be to small to even have it as an option. In normal driving not a problem. On a hot day in stop and go driving heat is a problem with the twins stock. It is funny to me when I see guys adding a turbo or SC without upgrading the cooling system. Oil and coolant. Everything on the twins has been designed to cut weight and cost.
Thank you mishimoto for making great products! This works amazingly.

Hi. Does the sandwich plate have ports for the oil temp and pressure sensor?
anyone count how many times he said the word, "next"..?

How does the oil cooler mount? How can we install this with an intercooler? I mean for the price, you should have multiple mounting options right?
Hi just wandering do we have to pre fill the oil cooler with oil before installation?
This is not necessary
@@mishimoto Thanks for the reply!
Next. Next. Next. Next.
Next video.
Can I use it for the Toyota Gt86 because it's the same as the FRS and BRZ?
Yep!
Does the sandwich plate have ports for oil pressure and temp aftermarket sensors?
Yes, both the sandwich plate styles with come with two side ports to be used for sensors.
do you need to drain your oil before installing the oil cooler?
Draining will not be required, the only oil you should lose is that from the oil filter.
My sandwich plate is leaking :( where can I order a new Oring
Please contact us at support@mishimoto.com for assistance.

+Koji Fuma wow good question. Need an answer for this one.
+fatboy19831 where is the answer for that year ago question
+Dieygo A. There is not one. I have been searching the net. I want an oil cooler. Leaving a quart of dirty oil in the car every time I change the oil is not an option.
Yeah me too. I purge every second oil change. So I need to unmount the shield & so on..
simply take off the the hoses and blow through one side lol. but yeah good question! I would imagine it would just drain most of it and if there is some left it gets filtered.
Hi may I ask if it is ok to install oil cooler even if ur car is not tutbocharged? Ty.
Hello KimCarlo Mendoza. You are 100% fine to install an oil cooler, even if your vehicle is not turbo charged.
What are the benefits? Very interested!

What are your thoughts on installing the oil cooler behind an intercooler?
how doesn't it apply on turbo 86/brz ?? same same? or different line?
We have not tested our oil cooler kit with aftermarket turbocharger kits for this application. Thanks!
@@mishimoto I am running a turbo on my BRZ and the application is the same as if you were non-turbo, no change in install procedure.
It is indeed the exact procedure. No problems with my turbo kit. In fact, WAS easier to route the tubes through the engine bay with the freed space.
do the holes have to line up with the outlet? thanks
Hello BRZ RN. My apologies, but I'm not entirely sure what holes you are referencing. Additionally, the outlet could be either side of the oil cooler in this instance.
Mishimoto Automotive holes of the banjo bolts to outlet, do they have to be aligned?
Hey BRZ RN . Thanks for clearing that up for me. The banjo bolts should self-align when properly torqued down :)
can someone tell me how the water moves even though there is no pump?
Your oil pump in the engine would pressurize this just like the rest of the system.
@@mishimoto so it moves because of the force of the oil pump? Is that really how that works?
It is the same pressure that pushes oil through your filter and engine block.
Man I installed mine wrong the lines touched my headlight wiring and it burned the wires 😭😭 sad life
Sorry to hear that, let us know if there was any damage to the lines we would be happy to help out.
Hi Jomar how did you route the hoses?
This probably doesnt fit with a vortech SC
Do you really need to put it on a lift?
Not required but it makes the installation much easier!
if i has a brz i would install one of these just to full people into think my car had a turbo and actually went fast instead of just looking it
The only annoying part is how all he says it next do this, next do that, next, next, next.
Whats the point in having an oil cooler on a non-turbo engine? If it needed an oil cooler wouldn't subaru have put one on at the factory?

lol wow fail to have oil cooler ???? wouldn't subaru have put one on at the factory ?ummm no wow . please educate yourself .
+BerettaTV The twins run hot on a warm summer day. The factory tune cuts back hp. Keeping the oil cool is a plus along with the extra oil capacity.
