Well guess what we have a cat and 5 cute little kittens so we had to build them a sweet home until their old enough to be our new barn cats. I am trying to figure out something for my babies. I have folks in my neighborhood who will not do anything about there loose dogs. It causes a problem for the Momma kitties that hang out on my property. We have cats that eat at our home but that we can't necessarily catch to get them fixed.
@@tiathompson6674 You can get a Havahart cat trap. I've caught cats that way to get them fixed. Very easy.

So many people devalue cats, and I don't know why. They are amazing, complex creatures. It warms my heart to see anyone care for those tiny, furry balls of love.
Cats are amazing because they don’t give trust to anyone you have to earn there love and trust they show us how to love , versus dogs who love anyone but don’t get me wrong I love dogs
They're so precious and therapeutic. And this guy is a REAL man. His actions building this made me cry!

Every cat has a different personality as well. I've got a doggo that's amazing but I am definitely more of a cat person. When a little furball shows up at my door I'm just too weak to turn them away, which is why I have 4 cats 😂

I am reeling with momma and kittens trying to keep them safe I live in the country this video is truly a Godsend for me. I’m building this today with my son so we can all sleep better at night.
You are so awesome! We have had people abandon their cats on our rural property, some people just don't care. We now have 12 healthy, happy neutered house cats, glad we have a large house. The cats even have their own catery. Kinda a cat getaway room.

I am recently clean and looking for a hobby to take up time that I waste in my toxic mind. Since I have a few cats that aren't allowed outside I figured this might be something I'd want to get into I have six rescue and of course they want to be outside. This will keep my cats safe and keep me from ripping my hair out of my head

I have been telling my spouse that we should make a catio for a year now. We don't have most of those tools but I think we can still improvise with what tools we do have. I love the way you incorporated the tree branch. Very good !!! love it!
You are a good man. Thank you for your kindness. I've been wanting a cattery for years. Have rescues and 5 cats inside and 14 outside. All spayed and neutered. I feed 2 colonies also and try to spay and neuter them. People keep dumping them.we have found good homes for kitties. Thanks again.
We already have neutered the mama and now waiting on the kittens to be big enough and my wife says she is keeping them all for are farm thank you for what you do for cats not enough people like you in this world. Thanks

Thank you , I wasn't really expecting the kittens so soon but they needed a place to stay warm and we build them this nice pen for are garage and they will soon be big enough to live at are barn and make great farm cats.

Great job and it shows your big heart. You made it look easy, but I know you used a life time of learned skills. That’s exactly what I need for for my formerly in/out cat who now has to be an indoor cat because I moved to an apartment type home. ❤❤❤

Thanks for saving them, hope you got them all fixed. From someone who’s been rescuing cats and kittens for over 17 years, that area they’re in is really too small for them, it’s even too small and confining for even one cat except for a very short period of time. Hope you can move them into your home where they have the room that cats need to move around or find others who will take them. Also, if you find homes for them they really should go in pairs or more, cats should have at least one other cat to play with and keep each other company. Again, thanks for saving their lives!

Super cute! She and her babies are lucky to have found a permanent home! I like the build. It looks sturdy. I'm going to somewhat copy it for my 6 kitties because they need fresh air sometimes while staying safe.
This was one of the best catio videos I've seen. I'm framing in on a deck under roof. my project is very different but I still learned more from you because you gave a materials list. I think this is the only one I've seen so far that they actually gave a materials list. I won't be buying exactly the same materials or cutting the wood in half, but just the same, this really helped me visualize what I am about to do. Tree limb was an awesome touch. I live in the forest lots of Fallen trees, cats do love it. Such a lucky cat with kittens. make sure you get those little brats fixed because they get pregnant Young.😮❤

be careful just putting tree branches in there, you're better off buying a tree branch. Reason being, the branches have a ton of mites that will get on your cats. The branch needs to be cooked.

Same thing happening with me...A feral Mama cat showed up with 2 kittens, and a stray cat showed up, so I'm looking for ideas on building a Catio. Loved that you gave your stray kitties a safe, warm home! Looks like this was 3 years ago!

This is exactly what I need, our stray cat came with two kittens then had 5 more 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. We gave some away but still have 4 kittens and mom. I need one of these so bad!! Great job!!

She sits in her window seats all day and watches birds.I love to work in the yard but but I can take her out there with . There are two huge dogs that have just moved in a couple weeks ago next door and they don't like kitties at all. My son said as soon as I walk outside to work in the yard and she
Cries non stop until I come back in. And we all know how loud Siamese Cats can be!

I have 13 cats (most are rescues). They go out side 5 at a time and they r really good cats. They stay in the yard for the most part. They don’t mess with peoples shit. But there is always someone who absolutely hates cats. We have had some go missing because people will live trap them and throw them out on the highway. I am building a catio to keep these psychos from hurting or taking my cats. This help greatly. Hope the mama and kittens grew up healthy.

Your house sounds like our house. We had 1 cat, then 2, then 6 then 8, I'm sure one day we will look out there and there will be about 30! We're doing all we can to provide best care we can for ours too. Dang people always moving out and abandoning them here! Great Video! Nice job! I built a similar one but I used the rubber lining for the roof and the rubber gaskets for the screws. Never leaked even during Harvey. Mine was 8 by 8 by 9.
Great job!!! My husband knows how to build, but it takes me a lot of effort and time to convince him. Nevertheless, I'm showing this video to him so that he can get motivated with my new rescues. 3 baby kitties, no momma around. 😫

Currently building a catio for two of my cats. I have 5 cats, some go out, but of these 2, one has never been outside and one just recently has become blind (we and vet don't know why). It should be done soon and we are also putting a tree branch in ours. This mama certainly hit the right house when she found you. Bless you!

This is wonderful. So you can rip a 2x4 with a circular saw? always wondered about that. Where i live , in idaho, female cats come and have their kittens here, then they raise them, teach them to hunt, then she takes them away one by one. Had one cat give birth to her kittens in a birds nest up on a wall top. Didnt know it was there till i heard a kitten crying inside the wall, had to pull the outside boards off to get it, and while doing that they all started crying! This cat kept trying to bring them in the house and keep them on the bed! lol. I now have whats left of a litter of i think 16 years ago. I was up on the roof when i saw the neighbors cat and chicken killing dog with the mama cat dead taking it home. She had a litter she left with me, they were barely old enough to eat food. I gentled them fixed them and got all but one safely inside to take to the no kill shelter. Im allergic to cats, and when i called to let them know i was coming and get directions they said they were full and hung up. I called back and they said sorry just take them to the pound, and hung up again.. They promised me they would take them before. So i kept them. Now i have a coyote that has killed one, and keeping them locked inside. They hate it and i need to build something so they can get outside. at 73, its a chore. I wanted to use 2x2 as i dont think 2x4 is needed. So this was helpful, i do have the jig too, makes life easier for connecting. I will also build a tunnel from the house to the pen, they will hate it, as they love to run outside all over the pasture, but i want them alive.
