A most excellent video!! I've been scrapping for a while and never bothered with CPUs other than selling them as scrap. Now I feel confident these electronic devices get a second life.
Now THAT was a great video. That was wonderful to have Chris to collaborate on this and see what happens to the chips on HIS side!! Your videos have helped make doing ewaste and maximizing your value almost effortless!!
Really cool that Chris took the time to help you make this super informative video! Of course as I don't live in America it doesn't help me personally, but I'm sure it'll help some people earn a few extra bucks from their scrap 😃👍
That was a great Explanation of the various Chips to Boardsort - love Your Spreadsheet very much ! Some of those Chip make a lot of Money - wow ! Fantastic to see both Sides of the Process - also a Great Explanation from Boardsort ! Packaging the Chips up is soooooo very Important - time spend on it will Save Guard these Chips ! Man - we really enjoyed this very Informative Video - well done both of You ! Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
There is absolutely good value in the ewaste biz. I have lots of videos that can help and always happy to answer questions. You can reach me at sharkscrapper@gmail.com
Good to know this is a source too, I got about 30 Dell i5-4590s PCs in my basement and another 30 so of i5 3rd gens. Some of those I been selling to a local computer shop after cleaning/testing them and repasting the processor, he likes them with no hard drive so it's a good fit. I'll have to go through and look for other processors like the i3s, I know I still have some of those around and can scrap those out, saving the i5s for the computer shop.
Sir that was a great and informative video 😳.so cool to see where they go .. chris is right in saying thank you for what you do for the scrapping community 👊🏻..ps the first thing I see on the website is always your videos 🤣👊🏻..have a great night sorry I’m late

A very good question. Sometimes I don't have as many CPU's and it is easier to group them by type and enter the quantity. The spread sheet gives me that flexibility.
I’ve been “mostly” careful handling all my CPUs, especially the older ones with pins. Now I’ll go through my box of CPUs and find out what I have! Definitely worth more than scrap, which is why I’ve kept them. Thanks for being thorough explaining things. I regret scraping the MLCCs off the old ones, they probably had damaged pins anyways, but I have a bunch of pinless ones to examine. Thanks
@@sharkscrapper I just went home at lunch after seeing the CPU video and found I have over 25 “i” series CPUs! Yay! They look good, now I just have to validate them and ship with some other stuff. Luckily the ones I ruined were other types.
Hey. Fresh update. Despite the tested i-core cpu program discontinued, the scrap value of later generations is pretty high. The price for i7th of 6th gen and later are is the highest - 920 euro /kg., Germany. Some dutch e-scrapyards offer comparative pricing for modern consumer cpu. core-i family Xeons also rated as scrap. Let me know if you need weblinks. Cheerz, Simon. 👍🤝
Hey Shark, I came back to this video so that the question is relevant. How long is the normal turnaround time for you on tested CPU's. Just curious since I've sent some in and haven't heard back. To be fair I did send in over 100 CPUs and I'm sure they get loads of them every day so I get that it may take some time. Just wondered what your experiences have been on payout times.
I normally get at least confirmation that they were received within a week or two depending on when I put them in the mail. But I've not sent a 100 at one time. If it's been over two weeks since you mailed them, I recommend you email Chris, email address is on the website, and confirm they have received them.
@@sharkscrapper Oddly enough it was only an hour or so after I commented that Chris replied to my email and the Paypal dinged. They took good care of me and all is well! I will definitely be using them again!
Great video shark, new sub here from north Louisiana. Just got registered on boardsort and getting ready to send some goodies. Would you recommend sending CPUs to be tested separately from motherboards, ram, etc? Thanks for the tutorials, you and waste Ben have been instrumental in getting me started.
Welcome aboard Drew! Great to have you here. Honored to have been a part of getting you into this awesome activity. Ewaste Ben was the first RUclips channel I ever subscribed to and he's been a mentor for many years. You don't need to ship the CPU's separately BUT I highly recommend you put them in their own little well padded box. Motherboards can act like knives in shipping, being bounced around and such. Tight packaging and good protection for the CPU's is needed. Feel free to email me questions at: sharkscrapper@gmial.com
@@drewamram2160 Happy to help. The good news is that BOARDSORT doesn't care if pins are bent on the pinned Pentiums. Those are just scrap value CPU's. But protecting those MLCC's on the i-series is a very different animal all together.
as current micros guess fetch a good price amount of chips in those drawers you have could open up shark computer repair shop he he *👍Au👍got our like and a full watch too*
Yes, for a short while they were also doing some server CPU's but that program ended several months ago. Now just i-series CPU's for the test and buy program. I'll post an update video if anything changes.
Welcome to the shiver Silver Scorpion - awesome name by the way. I have playlists for street scrapping, ewaste and another for odd ball non-ewaste scraps. Hope you enjoy.

It's interesting to be in this as we watch older generation components "age out" and move from functional to scrap value.
That has got to suck testing all of those CPU's.Great video showing how to's
