Just found out about this bird like 1 min ago. And I read the comment section and found out it is missing. Instantly I felt pain in my stomach. Can't imagine how u feel. Hopefully it's alright
Update 12/02/2018 Sadly we have not had Charlie return to us. We can only hope in this Summer weather that he is somewhere safe. Otherwise we know he had a grand time while he was with us.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, I understand exactly how it feels and half to live with the unknown for the rest of your life. My little guy went missing in September and miss him everyday. I also recently just brought home a baby boy but will never forget Chico. I hope and pray that all the missing pets are found and loved wherever they are. Your Indian ringneck is just adorable, you can tell he is really loved by the entire family.

I've got a sweet cockatiel named Ziggy (in honor of David Bowie!) and I just can't fathom the thought of him missing. I've always been a dog and cat person and never thought I could love a bird. Boy was I wrong. While I will miss seeing new Charlie videos (unless he finds his way home!), I do look forward to your new videos of your new baby.

I have not had a bird fly away (yet, anyway) but I have had two pass away very suddenly and unexpectedly. It's absolutely devastating and heartbreaking. Those little angels were part of my family, just like this precious little guy is part of yours. I presume you've notified local animal shelters, rescue groups, bird groups, etc? I wish you luck. My thoughts will be with you and your family, and I sincerely hope that you are able to find him.

Oh my God! I have a cockatiel too that looks like him. He went missing for 3 days. I was crying like crazy. Posted in Facebook targeting the neighbouring town and people I know living around the area. 3 days I got a call about a bied found on their garden so sweet and loves singing. God I know it was him. I cried for 3 days waking up at 5 am looking all day screaming for his name. People staring at me and I simply didn't care. I gave a huge a reward to the people who found him but that is nothing to the agony of 3 days not seeing him. Did u found him/her?
flazen pinero god, I know how horrible those few days are. I’m really sorry you went through that, but I’m glad you got him back. I remember when my cockatiel flew away, I spent the entire day searching for him, along with most of the next 3 days. Unfortunately we live in a tiny village surrounded by miles upon miles of forest, so it was really hard to search for him and we couldn’t rely on neighbours to look out for him. I ran and ran through the forest in just sandals until my feet were so torn up by the thorns that I physically couldn’t stand anymore. Despite everything we did (printing posters to put up in all the neighbouring villages, posting on every local facebook group, calling out for him constantly - anything we could possibly do), we never found him. It’s been 5 months now so all I can hope for is that he enjoyed the beautiful sunset on the day he left and wasn’t put through too much pain. He was my best friend and he meant the world to me. At least I’ll see him again one day in a much more peaceful place.
I can’t afford to lose my birds. I’ve only lost them once and they came back. Tho, I lost them one last time and they were never found. I live in an Australian forestry with lots of hawks. It’s been multiple days, they’re dead. It’s sad but such is life.

I never heard a cockatiel talk before. I always hear them whistle or make noises. There's many video's that say their birds singing a song but it's actually whistling. In my book, singing and whistling are two completely different things. Your cockatiel is the first one I ever heard actually say something. Smart bird. I'm so terribly sorry Charlie flew away from you guys. I just found him but already feel sorry for him. When I was 5 our two cockatiels flew away. They were only 3. I can only hope someone took them under their wing. But nearly 8-9 years after they flew away I purchased my wonderful bird quill last year. She is a female. And I got a male bird on the 16th of February. He loves cuddles.
Charlie is wonderful. I feel so bad for you especially since my 'tiel flew away the end of June. I have others but they're not my Lovey. I miss him too, terribly. Hope by the time you read this, Charlie is home!
During the summer we had our cockatiel cage outside so they could enjoy the sun and my dad thought it was a good idea to open the cage. My birds aren't free flight trained and although they were clipped at the time, they could still glide a big distance. One of them landed by the sliding door next to me and I ran out bare foot to get him back in the cage. The other one had flown over the fence into the woods where there were a lot of cats. I was so scared that he was going to get eaten by a cat but luckily my boyfriend found him. I ran outside to meet them so I could carry my bird back to my house and the whole time he was biting my fingers because he hates being held. I love my cockatiels so much and I'm sure you loved your Charlie a lot too. I'm so sorry that you've lost him ❤️
I am so sad to hear your bird was lost. My African Grey Timneh Echo flew off my shoulder on my porch even though I had just had his wings trimmed. I never saw him again, this was when my daughter was a toddler and she's 25 now. I hate it that I lost him.
i just recently lost my bird she passed away unexpectedly and it’s been 3 weeks, it still hurts and seeing how charlie’s been missing for 5 years make me so sad. he’s probably gone now. It makes me so sad he seemed so happy and content with you guys. I’m crying sm over this

Aww, it's so sad to lose a pet. I lost my cockatiel while I was at school camp in 2016. My mother accidently left his cage open, so he flew away. The annoying thing is that I kept telling my parents that I wanted to have him as an indoor bird, but they claimed that it would be "cruel". If he did stay indoors, it never would have happened.
I lost my cockatiel too. It was an awful feeling and all I could focus on was him for the next 3 days. I walked everywhere but knew there were too many places to look. So one day I woke up and decided it was time to stop looking. I already had an ad up on craigslist so I knew that would be the way it would happen if it did. Once I let go of just giving giving giving all my energy on calling him, then he had room to come home! A lady called me the next day saying she had him safe and sound (12 miles away!) Let go of your energy so there is room for recieving and getting him back! Cheers!😊😊😊😊
Damn! When I watched this video, I was thinking how wonderful it must be for the owner to have a cockatiel like Charlie. But after knowing that he has been missing, I feel so sad. I just hope that Charlie is doing fine no matter where he is.
Lovely bird. I have a Cockatiel as well and love him dearly. Sadly with birds you have to be extremely vigiliant about windows and things of that nature. Hope he's doing well

I had a cockatiel of my own... He's the sweetest thing, he can speak, he sings, he even knows to give a kiss, and he is soooooo attached to humans.. I literally watched your video yesterday, and I felt sad to hear the news of him being missing, but one of the first things that I thought of was: "Would it really be that painful?".. I wasn't making fun of you, I know it's sad, but I thought maybe it doesn't hurt that much. I watched your video yesterday, then a few hours ago, someone in the house opened his cage and forgot that the house door was open.. He flew away. The bird was kinda born here, and he grew up here, he's so domesticated, so he won't ever be able to handle himself out there. I made a face that I can't say I expected to see a grown man make....

My bird did the same thing and was named charlie.... he died on the fourth of july... miss him very much

Its been almost two years, and we still miss him. We do have Beaker. Sometimes we think we hear him. We are lucky we have the videos to remember him

Lovely bird. I have a Cockatiel as well and love him dearly. Sadly with birds you have to be extremely vigiliant about windows and things of that nature. Hope he's doing well

im soooooo sorry, that he is lost, have seen it now at the comments. i know, how you feel, our cockatiel was lost for 2 days. i had forgotten that the cage was open, and went outside!!! he came back, but we lost him this year, breeding was to much for him, he was only 3 years old!!! Sooo hard, to lost a loved animal!!!!
I had a cockatiel of my own... He's the sweetest thing, he can speak, he sings, he even knows to give a kiss, and he is soooooo attached to humans..

I watched your video yesterday, then a few hours ago, someone in the house opened his cage and forgot that the house door was open.. He flew away.
The bird was kinda born here, and he grew up here, he's so domesticated, so he won't ever be able to handle himself out there.
