It looks like if all I want to take off is the trim to replace it, I don't need to take off the whole wheel? Am I correct? Just remove the 2 torx in the back lower, and pull from the top as you showed? Also would I need to remove the airbag still, and disconnect the battery? Thanks

You don’t have to take off the steering wheel to get the trim off but you do need to take out the airbag of course.

hi thanks for the vid, do you need to remove the entire steering wheel with airbag if you want to remove only the plastic trim? or is there a way to remove the trim, without removing the steering wheel? thanks

To removed control buttons and trim, whole airbag and steering wheel need to come out.

You don’t have to remove the entire steering wheel to take off the plastic trim, I don’t know what made you think you had to take the whole thing off.

Not button removal. Just the trim removal.
