Only 9 days, 2 hours, 46 minutes and 35 seconds until the Daytona International Speedway race! Can hardly wait for JIMMIE JOHNSON & TEAM 48 to go for another Championship!!! We will also see Jeff Gordon's final race season before he retires :(
I imagine paint allows for certain types of finishes that a wrap just can't do, or in the case of this car, that it's just easier to do paint because it's such a simple scheme.

I was wondering that myself. Some guy named "Boris" on a Kyle Busch vid told me that several gallons of paint was far heavier than the latex wrap they put on Busch's car. I don't know, it seems to me, DuPont sponsors Jeff Gordon's car, or at least they did, I'd imagine they'd want to put DuPont paint on it.

you know whats ironic is that every time he runs a paint scheme like this he always has a problem or ends up crashing.

It's not a set deal by any race team to strictly paint or wrap their cars, usually when they run a paint scheme for a certain weekend, more than likely its painted. For the cars with their regular group of sponsors, its likely to be wrapped. Of course different variables will come to always change things up.

yeah that is ironic cause last year his engine blew up and the year before that he crashed into the wall and anyways i dont think he will have that paint scheme this year
Its all about the money the painter said. ;)
One gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. Milk is thicker and weighs more than that. Auto paint is even thicker and weighs more than that. Let's hypothesize that we are now flirting with an almost 10 pound per gallon addition to a machine who's builders pride themselves in cutting out fractions of ounces. I'd go with the wrap.
See where what gets him? You made an unfounded judgmental comment about someone's professionalism (as a painter) based entirely on the fact that he has a tattoo (an artistic expression). Maybe we should see where that kind of attitude gets YOU Mr. 11. Also, Rmagini was entirely correct.
