Finally a beetle, i have seen beetles modded to be either supercar porsche-like, a lowrider-type cruiser or offroad buggies. I was surprised you didnt cover any beetles, until now. There is so much mod potential, engine swaps are usually modded stock engines, other volkswagen engines, LS or wankel rotary, various V8s and V6s, inline-4s, porsche engines, Subaru impreza engines, turbocharged and supercharged, and nowadays electric motors man these have a lot of potential
Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend lately xD
Thanks for the inspiration- just picked up my first VeeDub and it’s Cali style. Love the fact this beauty has been with you since 15. Hope my son keeps his that long and sees this one day.
67 best year....12 volt electrical system....I had 5 VWs but my 67 was my favorite...I bought a 71 1600 motor from the junk yard and built it...It had 100 HP...I had alot of fun racing it...It looked stock...It would chirp third gear and wheel hop 1st and 2nd...
My first car was a bug, 3am one morning I missed judged my handbrake skid and hit the churchyard wall at about 70 mph complete right off, but that car saved us, no one hurt, built strong 💪 I did have another one and absolutely loved it!! 🇬🇧
When i first went to high school.... Ours went 10th-12th , i was in 10th grade but only 14 and had to ride the bus some until i could find a friend to ride to school with .... Anyway there was this group of juniors that all had bad ass bugs and parked and hung out right in front of our school. I have loved bugs every since. Close i ever had was had a fiberglass body dune buggy called the Boon Duggie. It was titled as a 62. I am stoked with how he has this car set up. Sweet. Oh yeah by the way i bought my first car a 67 mustang for 950 bucks summer between 10th and 11th grade. So i actually started driving to school when i was 15 before i even had a license. Was only barely 17 when i graduated. Was married with a kid on the way too. Grew up fast. Way too fast to be honest but i did it.
You kept the essence of a Vw by not swapping a Subi motor into it. Very nice. I have a 63 Rag with a 2276 and dual 48IDAs. Hawaiian Bug! Cheeee doggeh!
These cars are FUN to drive. I've owned a WV type 3 squareback. It was shortened 10cm in the back. The roof had bin lowered 5 cm. The entire car was lowered on 5 spoke chrome rims. It was shaved all over and had, what I believe was an old Porsche replica front on it. Central locking system and power windows. It was double carburated and had a sports exhaust, which made it scoot, since it only weighed around 1750 pounds. And man it turned head. I truly wish I never sold it. About this bug though, I understand the competition he explained about the venting holes. But the hood is over done (in my opinion). But those venting lines in the front fender looks absolutely killer! The entire build is just a completely unique little bug, I wanna bet every one turns their heads to see. Very cool car!
my father had tons of cars...Then he found his 69 bug that he got thru work trade...LOVEED that thing till the day he died....Literally....at 73 he died of CA with his 69 spit shined in the garage...Loved it!!!He had beemers, fords, volvos, suburus..you name it....He love the bug.....
I would love to turn one of these into complete 997 Gt3. Just body and interior from the Bug and everything else from GT3. Bug is such a great car with great potential.
In general I not like Chopped Vw Beetle, i prefer it with stock lines buth damn This is a Piece of art, I really like everything on this Beetle (probably because is made whith passion) Great Job!
OG draw through turbo with the modified Weber carb single barrel. I had a similar set up DCOE WEBER 28mm chokes for better throttle response with the Rayjay turbo 1st gen Turbnetics Delta Gate driver adjust boost, Mk1 Ford Fiesta 1.6L Ford Kent made about 175hp pump gas, but if you put 100 octane or real leaded gas in easy into the 200hp range with 1580 lbs car lol
Putting my 1972 Volkswagen type three fastback back on the road. Thanks for the inspiration. Of course I won’t be altering it from its original state it’s just lowered And I’ll buy an extra engine for horsepower
Saw this one at the Grand National Roadster Show, super nice build, definitely an inspiration for me! Hopefully we can together for my squareback once it's done 😉
Man in the late 70s and 80s bugs were really cool little cars, and was offered one to buy a friends real clean 70, but me being 6'5 made it a little bit 😝 tight to drive, awesome memories back then driving up and down Mulholland drive. Also, what I remember parts for the bugs were cheap, a new or very clean used fender would sell for 10 used 18-22 new and some crazy lol😂 just the perfect little project for a high school kid starting out with his or her pride and joy. Such a cool time 👍🤘🤘😎❤ Drive safe big kahuna.
First car I ever drove was a VW, 15 learning to drive, did so - so , didn't like changing gears, Automatic gas guzzler for me !! One thing the new VW will never beat the Classic !! 👍
That is the cleanest, sickest Volkswagen I've seen. Absolutely a work of art. Love the color and the white interior is nice.

I’ve just never dug into the Beetle world before as it’s not my passion point but this may have opened a whole new world for us
@@AutotopiaLA Oh hell yeah the beetle world is massive!!!!
These will never go out of style. This is rad. Nice build.
I had a 67 in Highschool, I could only dream of it being this nice.
Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend lately xD
@Xander Kashton Yup, I've been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
That's a piece of art from the 80's. Never run out of style
I love these old school beetles.
Love the history of this. My first car in HS was a Cal Bug. Great affordable way for a youngster to get into customizing.
The story makes it even cooler and I love the various versions through the years
Probably my favorite Bug ever!! Beautiful build. Great video!!

I use to have 62 convertible turbo in 1983! Love this bug! Looks like 80’s style
Sickest VW Bug I've seen in many years.
Cool bug the stance workmanship is awesome and love the orange paint

Very cool build, every inch of that car has been touched. and as a Honda guy who owns a 67 beetle as well I like the seats a lot.

This car just looks absolutely stunning , like it a lot !!
This bug is probably the best I’ve ever seen super cool and i bet it handles good and fast too
As much as I HATE VW bugs but I hate to admit that this one is Awesome 👌

What a nice looking machine. Love that he’s owned it so long. Suicide doors are sweet!

@@AutotopiaLA sure!!💪🏼🔥
That's a bad-a$$ '67! Man, I miss my custom '59 baby window ragtop with 2110cc. Still got seller's regrets 15 years later :(

Shame it wasn’t in a Ford Pop or Mk1 Cortina.
Thats the cutest little turbo i ever saw
Very cool!! We're doing a 73 right now.
Beautiful paintjob also. Greetings to San Pedro from Long Beach (and my '71 411 squareback says hi!)

Very nice car great color choice,I had a 1968 as my first car lots of cool memories off the little bug 👍
If they could only talk
La verdad que está muy bonito como está NICE 👏👏
Thats how u build a bug! Build it like a street rod!
And the color is perfect for that warm California sun. And I dig that aesthetic, whoever has the most louvers wins. :)
The paint in the sun is stunning
Review John Reynolds bug. That thing is faster than anything you have driven guarantee.
DAMN! That is a beautiful Bug! Well done!
Badass ride! I miss the '68 I had in high school.
Nice! Half expected to see another LS victim. Glad it still has the VW engine.
Nice that he's had it all these years, its a beautiful car 😎😎
What a freaking awesome bug! Love those lowered with air ride and bright paint! Show and go all day.👌👍😎
We saw it and had to shoot it
VERR NIICE!!!
I like everything except the misaligned deck lid & the broken rear axle look...aside from that, it's a rockin' little bug...
Not a buy guy,But I like this one
Same for me. That’s why we shot it
I love those Suicide Doors !!! And how the roof is chopped !!!!
Such a cool bug!
Putting my 1972 Volkswagen type three fastback back on the road.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Of course I won’t be altering it from its original state
it’s just lowered
And I’ll buy an extra engine for horsepower
Sweet beetle
Saw this one at the Grand National Roadster Show, super nice build, definitely an inspiration for me! Hopefully we can together for my squareback once it's done 😉
That's one Bug that makes Porsche look second best

Not a bug guy but this one made me have to shoot it. It’s that good

V-Dubs are cool they are low to the ground, wonderful fenders and you get feedback from the ground up oh ya and style.
One sweet orange
I had a 1967.. and it was a rag top black one

one of my favorite cars is the VW Notchback from this era. You don't see many of them.

I absolutely can't stand the look of the 45 degree camber on the rear but that is one clean sweet ass bug.
Love bugs LOL was my first car as well a 1964. Love it wish I still had it
This one is really special with a great history

Good for you you live in America, in Germany we wouldn’t be allowed to drive this car, without mirrors, whipers and direction signals!
Nice VW 👍

That's a clean Bug!
Beautiful bug !!!! Well done 👍👍👍
That's a top notch beetle right there.
Beautiful car. That extreme rear camber looks like it broken.

That’s super clean Orange Crushing VW style
Wicked Bug. And i get the Hook but that is some final destination-level carisma
That’s a badass bug🔥
Definitely
OMG!!! Gorgeous dude, 😍😍😍, hi from México 😎😁🤟
I’m a Mexican and I love the kinds cars bochó
I remember this WAS the thing when I was in high school in So Cal.
One observation - Fabricate a swoop to the rear hatch so it looks closed.
Really cool! Too many modern parts though, but they could all be swapped easily, with a more vintage look it would be absolutely badass👍🏻🖤🏴☠️
Super San Pedro Pumpkin Beetle!
Sounds about right
