Unbelievable, i watched vid twice and just noticed you paid 300 for both used and i paid the same for two 9515s back in 2012. Neither were painted or scuffed but one with a broken basket but still played. I dont have the space for 15s but thought about reconing one or converting both to 9912s. Your thoughts or if that is even possible?
You can order recone kits from DD audio themselves if you wanted to keep them 15s. You can also send in the subs and they can convert the sub from a 15 to a 12 as well. I had the old 8 spoke basket design so i sent mine to get them upgraded to the modern basket and customized. Good thing about DD is the options you have downside is they are not cheap.
If I'm not mistaken I believe it helps tighten up the magnetic field on the motors if not that maybe even redirect the magnetic field. This in turn, should make the motor more efficient and have a higher guass rating. DD doesn't even guarantee a DB gain it's said it's possible, what they do seem to claim is a more transient sub? I dont even know if that's the word I'm looking for but it's to my belief the sub is more capable of reproducing Suttle notes and sounds in general more accurately than if it weren't supercharged. I mean it's neat that paperclips will stand on end sitting in the cone lmao. If you were considering that option I'd do your own research take what I say with a grain of salt.

I found my 9918sc carbon cone in box on droppin hz for 899$ they have another but its dual 2 ohm.. i jumped all over it.. worth every penny
