  • In this tutorial, automated CFD analysis of nozzle flow using parametric approach is demonstrated. Parametric analysis of a convergent, divergent nozzle is carried out in Ansys workbench.

    If anyone is having trouble getting CFX to work,... you'll need to run CFX as administrator first, than map the file path for the workbench directory, using the folder ICON in the upper right corner, in my case it's R1 2024,... while CFX is running, start workbench and open the folder for the workbench project for this tutorial and it will load right up,... otherwise you get the error shown earlier.

    Mach Number increase in the divergent portion of CD nozzle. How come mach number is highest in the throat? Is there some mistake?

    when i am trying to see how heat flux changes it is showing nothing, min and max values are unknown

    In 13:55 when you enter pressure value below, it appears above as well after hitting apply. In my cfx pre it does not appear above. Do you know why???fyi: I use ansys 16.

    Many many thanks. What is NPR(nozzle pressure ratio)? and What is NPR in this simulation?

      Hi, I don't remember the NPR for this case. The main objective was to automate the process.

    how is the flow greater at the throat than its upstream value in supersonic reginme??

      By 'flow', do you mean mass flow or pressure or velocity, or any other parameter?

    thanks for very informative video. By the way, could you make a video on how to produce a chart in CFD-post that have multiple design point. Example, pressure across the nozzle (or some piping) at multiple design point (let say design point 1, 2 and 3). Thank you

      Thanks for your comments. I will post a video regarding multiple design points and let you know. By the way, do you mean multiple back pressures or post processing data at different axial locations for same back pressure.

      @@LearnCAE what I mean was, let say I have input variable which is inlet diameter, So my design point are inlet diameter 1, inlet diameter 2, and inlet diameter 3. In parametric design I can find the corresponding outlet pressure for those three cases from the parametric feature.
      However, I also want to find the pressure along the pipe/nozzle. How can I produce a XY plot, a graph of pressure vs length of pipe for those 3 cases (3 input diameter) simultaneously. For now, in post-cfd i can only produce the xy plot/graph of single line, for design point 1 (current) only. How do I do to get the result of design point 2 and 3 on the same plot.
      thank you.

      @@melanotictus To check all three results in single plot, I think you need to open all three result files in post processor and plot. If not, you can extract the data for all three cases and plot separately in excel or matlab or any other tool.

    From which journal u r taking the boundary conditions?

    • @LearnCAE
      @LearnCAE  2 года назад

      Hi, neither the model nor boundary conditions are taken from any journal. Only standard pressure boundary conditions are provided just to demonstrate parametric analysis steps.

    Is it possible to create a parametric CFD analysis using ANSYS bladegen? I mean, inputting different geometries from Bladegen? Or turbogrid...
    Thanks a lot for the information!

    • @LearnCAE
      @LearnCAE  3 года назад

      Hi, it is possible. But when it comes to blade design, you cannot easily parameterize the design trials. It is recommended to check and do it manually.
