Every day Rob makes a video is a good day. Rob, I just love how material you give keeps me occupied for days and weeks working on that. Please keep it up!
That was an insane insight and set of examples! Holy moly! You put so much in your videos! Forever grateful, your content is absolutely insane!! Thank you so much!!
I've been looking for a good modal practice routine for several months. I've finally found a great one! I also just subscribed to your channel. Thank you!!
I've been looking for someone to teach at my specific level forever. I'm not formally educated in music but I've been playing long enough that I don't need to be taught the fundamentals, and you do a great job of getting down to business without any fluff or wasted time. You help it all make sense. What a great teacher!
Rob, You are a BEAST ! Good beast- of “music navigation “….. THAT WAS A 1st RATE LESSON ! For those of us who want to “move up” … I’m thinking you just helped me find a way to move up several rungs on the “theory ladder”. Thank you sir…. I will be sure to show support, donate to your cause.
I have nothing but appreciation and respect for you, Sir. Your channel is without doubt one of the 5(?) or even 3 most comprehensive/useful rock- and fusion-oriented channels on here. Poland's watching and enjoying the content!
Rob I've had a couple lightbulb moments with this one, glad that I've been a subscriber for a few years now !!! Thanks for sharing all your hard work you rock #1fan Michael 🙃
It’s so Chrystal clear and light… best I’ve seen so far. As it’s straight and honest teaching without a shortcut or clickbait that might explain for the small numbers - but stick to your guns..it’s really great!
This is beyond my level of playing, but I know this is going to be really helpful in the future. I've watched a couple of your lessons now and I have to say you teach with great detail. As I said; above my level but you have a new subscriber. Thanks for all your hard work!
Amazing lesson!! I was searching a way to organize the scale and ear training study, cause i've always studied the scales in a not very organized way. Thank you so much!!
A huge thanks. Your lessons are so well thought out and executed. I've learnt more about improvisation and how to use scales from you than any other source. I highly recommend anyone to subscribe. Legendary teacher.
I cannot recommend this video enough to fellow guitar learners, especially at the advanced beginner / intermediate levels. It is oozing with content to keep you busy for several months if you really want to build a solid foundation of theory and understanding of guitar music. I also appreciate the graphic devices used to visualize scales, chords etc. so the viewer is kept engaged till the end of the video. I would recommend giving more diverse examples for popular uses of modes; i.e. Phrygian Dominant is heavily used in Metal music but also used by ethnic, classical and progressive composers quite amazingly; so budding musicians can have a more wide open understanding of the usage of modes. This is great content, thank you
Thank you so much for this! I honestly couldn't imagine how to top off your way of explaining and teaching the subjects you tackle. Not a word too many, not a word too little. Always on point. And on top of that you provide this awesome practice routine, giving high value content for getting under the hand what was first made (crystal) clear to the mind. Outstanding. Thanks again!
you are the bible of the guitar with a very good presentation. very usful routines. about the dorian mode it seems it should be the VII degré (Bm) instead of V above diagram. but it does not matter. very good explanations on the whole, thank you
wooow m@n i thought it was another boring lesson about scales, modes, and chords as we already saw myriads of them everywhere BUT THAT ONE is so enlightening with a bunch of very refreshing ideas of a well managed daily routine in order to truly master that topic the II-V-I sequences on each modal chords is just so cool to get unusual sound from a very simple concept (especially 4 jazz such as the lydian sound)
Unbelievable, just in one lesson that takes only 19mins l've understood the most difficult topic in music theory that l have thrown into the Dustin but all of a sudden God sends Khan. What a rescue. All of a sudden l discoverd how chord melody and fingerpicking evolves from!!!. Next thing is to grab my guitar and start studying thoroughly thanks to you buddy!!.
Seriously, I think this is perhaps the best and most easy to follow lesson on modes I've ever come across. Rob, how about a similar video but using extended/altered chords - this is where I always seem to fall down. Either way, thanks, dude.
