Daily PRACTICE ROUTINES and EXERCISES for SCALES & MODES
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 июл 2024
- This is a guitar lesson about practice routines to get a feel and ear for modes and scales in the most efficient way possible. In a few dense exercises containing three ways to study a scale or the modes of the major scale you grasp the essence of that scale by training your ears and technique.
Every routine consists of a (modal) progression (chords with inversions), triad arpeggios of a characteristic chord progression, and a scale run.
In this guitar tutorial we look at exercises for the modes of the major scale, the harmonic minor scale, the Phrygian dominant scale and the melodic minor scale.

Uno de los mejores maestros de guitarra, muy buenos tutoriales de lo mejor, thanks QJamTracks for Share
Thank you!
So easy to understand . Superb sir
This is beyond my level of playing, but I know this is going to be really helpful in the future. I've watched a couple of your lessons now and I have to say you teach with great detail. As I said; above my level but you have a new subscriber. Thanks for all your hard work!
Thank you Stephen!
A huge thanks. Your lessons are so well thought out and executed. I've learnt more about improvisation and how to use scales from you than any other source. I highly recommend anyone to subscribe. Legendary teacher.
Thank you Jye!
Very good explanation sir. Especially outlining the progressions of the modes. Never seen it being explained like this.
Thanks Julian :)
Great video as always, thanks! btw, I f'ing love that Strandberg!!
Thanks! And I love my strandberg too!
¡Gracias!
I thank you so very much for your incredible support Sergio! Thanks!!
I've been looking for someone to teach at my specific level forever. I'm not formally educated in music but I've been playing long enough that I don't need to be taught the fundamentals, and you do a great job of getting down to business without any fluff or wasted time. You help it all make sense. What a great teacher!
Thank you KacRay!! I really appreciate this :)
Thanks!
Thank you so much Bayoumi for your great support!!
Seriously, I think this is perhaps the best and most easy to follow lesson on modes I've ever come across. Rob, how about a similar video but using extended/altered chords - this is where I always seem to fall down. Either way, thanks, dude.
Hi Tony. I'll put it on my list !
It’s so Chrystal clear and light… best I’ve seen so far. As it’s straight and honest teaching without a shortcut or clickbait that might explain for the small numbers - but stick to your guns..it’s really great!
Thanks Janko!
wooow m@n i thought it was another boring lesson about scales, modes, and chords as we already saw myriads of them everywhere
BUT THAT ONE is so enlightening with a bunch of very refreshing ideas of a well managed daily routine in order to truly master that topic
the II-V-I sequences on each modal chords is just so cool to get unusual sound from a very simple concept (especially 4 jazz such as the lydian sound)
As always your lessons are rich with fact and practice. Possibly you could attach practice tracks for all the modes for downloads. Thank you.
Thanks Lourdes!

The official guitar warmup for a perfect balance of theory, technique and ear training..
Wow amazing , I could immediately learn the song Little Wing Jimmy Hendrix..
I cannot recommend this video enough to fellow guitar learners, especially at the advanced beginner / intermediate levels. It is oozing with content to keep you busy for several months if you really want to build a solid foundation of theory and understanding of guitar music. I also appreciate the graphic devices used to visualize scales, chords etc. so the viewer is kept engaged till the end of the video. I would recommend giving more diverse examples for popular uses of modes; i.e. Phrygian Dominant is heavily used in Metal music but also used by ethnic, classical and progressive composers quite amazingly; so budding musicians can have a more wide open understanding of the usage of modes. This is great content, thank you
Thanks Kegan!
Rob is the GOAT
Thanks!
Robin, I guarantee that your star will shine high in the YT heavens.
Unbelievable, just in one lesson that takes only 19mins l've understood the most difficult topic in music theory that l have thrown into the Dustin but all of a sudden God sends Khan. What a rescue. All of a sudden l discoverd how chord melody and fingerpicking evolves from!!!. Next thing is to grab my guitar and start studying thoroughly thanks to you buddy!!.
Thanks! And glad to see that the video helps you out :)
