You both looked *so* traumatized with the “devil” licorice: it looked like you were experiencing a car crash in live time! 🤣 Also: I don’t know about the Icelandic licorice, but most of the American black licorice is flavored with anise instead of licorice root, or only with a small amount of licorice and then mostly anise as the stronger note. That may be the difference you’re tasting: Iceland may use pure licorice without anise substitute.

If I get a candy with mixed flavors and it has the black licorice in it I go for the black licorice first!! And my favorite is the Ludens cough drops in black licorice. My sister had low blood pressure to the point she was fainting a lot. The doctor told her to start eating black licorice in order to raise her blood pressure. It worked. Good thing she liked it. I really do, too. We're part Irish, though. :) Thanks for the entertainment. You should visit Licorice International in Lincoln, Nebraska sometime. Rows and rows of just licorice from around the world.
My brother moved to Denmark from UK some years ago. My mum and dad went to visit and came back with loads of treats. Marshmallow covered in chocolate, haribos in different shapes, little chocolate squares to name a few. Every single one of them had liquorice in them including the harbio. Disappointment fir sure.
I love liquorice, sweet AND salty. The ammonia ones take a bit to get used to cause you can kind of feel/smell them in the back of your nose. But If anyone THINKS they don't like liquorice, try Lakrids by Bulow, everything they make is delicious.
i actualy have a blue opal that is illega to produce because of its Made with chloroform..its the best :) it went out of production 20 years ago,but i have 2 packets :)
Have you tried Italian cookies that have anise extract in them? So, instead of vanilla extract or any other flavor for baking, it is anise. I hate black licorice, but I do like cookies with anise in it. The cookies I have had are the very thin crispy pretty ones that kind of looks like old lady doilies called pizzelle or the round ball types with a thin sugar glaze with round ball sprinkles on them. Am I describing those well? LMAO, I have no idea. Anyways, I don't know if they sell that where you live or not but the flavor is there, just not a punch in the face. I think it's pretty subtle and I like them, but I also grew up eating them too so they aren't weird to me. If you can't get them out there it might be fun to try making them?
Icelander here. I love licorice. The stronger and saltier the better. Opal licorice candy also has an Opal Vodka. The drink is pitch black and has a strong licorice taste. I love it, it literally tastes like candy for me. I can chug a 40% Opal like water since I dont even taste the alcohol in it because of the very strong licorice taste.
Nice to trip over American tryers and looking forward to your reactions . I’ve been watching the Irish Try channel for three years now . But licorice from any danish country is as good as licking a salt block first before any other flavor
Marzipan is a powdered sugar almond paste with a touch of honey. I personally love it. Not exactly sure where it originated but I want to say Italy. Ben & Jerry's had an Ice Cream called Mission To Marzipan which was Vanilla Ice Cream with a ribbon of Marzipan throughout. Can't remember when I last had it but it went to the "Grave yard" with many other popular flavors 😔 It reminded me of the Chinese Almond Cookies that you get from their restaurants or buffets and dipping them in a glass of milk. 😋

Hey guys, love the videos. I would love to trysome Swedish food called "Surstrumming". I would love to send some but I am financially strapped, so if you can find some and order it I would love to see you guys try it. Also Durrian fruit. Keep up the great videos
Yes try the swedish fish delicacy called surströmming
I love you guys, your hilarious! I love most all licorice and I've always loved black licorice. If I get a candy with mixed flavors and it has the black licorice in it I go for the black licorice first!! And my favorite is the Ludens cough drops in black licorice. To me it tasted more like a candy then anything else and I honestly don't think it had anything in it to even help with coughs. A box never lasted a day with me!! Lol but I love red twizzlers but they have to be strawberry. Go black licorice!! Lol
8:27 yes we eat it, it tastes great and you're not supposed to chew on it. 😂
Fun fact about the next one "Djöflar". It says on the packaging that when making then, the workers used to curse them to hell "Djöfull! These damn liquorice is hard to make!"
Can we all agree that licorice is on the bottom of the list for candy? Because I gag when I try to eat it😂
Not agree at all, licorice and dark (at least 85%) chocolate is the only candy I eat💚
@@k.s.l.7518 I love dark chocolate! I think it’s the best chocolate in my opinion
Nope! Salty licorice is my favourite type of candy!
as a finnish, i love salty licorice. i could eat it with both hands and the whole bag at once.
Ooohhhhh. Those coconut marzipan ones are my favorite!!
Marzipan is almond paste I think. Yum!
I'm Dutch and i love me some licorice. The salted ones are my favorite ❤
Seeing you guys eating Djöflar, & thinking these are one of my favourites, & i could eat a whole bag easily. Guess i might be a masochist 😬
I just got back from the pub to find you guys uploaded, love you guys......love from the UK
I love liquorice, sweet AND salty. The ammonia ones take a bit to get used to cause you can kind of feel/smell them in the back of your nose.
But If anyone THINKS they don't like liquorice, try Lakrids by Bulow, everything they make is delicious.
I absolutely love licorice root teas for sore throats. 2cups and usually gone
I think the lesson of this video is that everything tastes better with chocolate!
Yes, some of us do love salt in our black licorice, like me.
You need to try triple salt black licorice candy.
I don’t understand how you can not like salty licorice??? It’s herbal, salty, very round flavor. It’s delightful!
The way Cam says poop makes me laugh we usually time 😂😂😂😂😂
Cam and Austin should do a Men Try trip to Iceland and make it a series
the chewy candies are just that: you chew them. you keep them in your mouth and chew them for the flavour.
i actualy have a blue opal that is illega to produce because of its Made with chloroform..its the best :) it went out of production 20 years ago,but i have 2 packets :)
Somebody behind the scenes must've had to try these to know which order to give them in. Round of applause for that hero....
If you ever get to Iceland, try and find and tast some volcanic soil baked Rie bread.
I love licorice. The salty aren’t my favourite. Just ate a piece of raspberry licorice, very tasty. Loved watching you guys. Funny 😆.💕💕💕💕
This video absolutely cracks me up!
the Topas black circular thing, i only see it in cars, and you just take one and slowly melt it, if you eat too much of it it gives you tummy aches
The djöflar is actually probably my favorite candy😂and it's soooo funny watching you struggle soooooo mich🤣🤣🤣
I love licorice!!! Send the leftovers my way!! 😃 And Austin, it is great for your stomach. It sure helped me after I had COVID last year.
I wish someone could send you two every flavour of Darrell Lea liquorice, that would be a great video
8:56 Djöflar means “devils” lmao
Eitt Sett got me was more than it should have. I laughed way too hard 😂
Now I have to go buy some black licorice. My grandpa loves, it and would always have it around the house. Now its one of my favorite flavors. Fennel tea is great too if you love black licorice.
Marzipan is basically a cross between frosting and Play Doh.
