Man, I thought the same. If that's true, they did a great job.. He's really shining and it looks not like acting - just helps to love studio one even more! For me the best DAW.
Every now and then I start to wonder if I should be using another DAW (e.g., Ableton). Then one of these videos comes out and ask myself, “Why do people use other DAWs?” Studio One is awesome! Well done. Keep up the great work.
I've done a marko where the lenght of the crossfade is about "0,005" and it helps to remove clicks inbetween 2 tracks. Very helpful! And with that trick, I could also have that "no overlap when editing" to ON.
Are you kidding me? Auto-Fade for the edges is a big game changer for me! It would be also great to have that auto-fade just for the areas inbetween the selected events and not for the outer corners.
Sometimes....when I'm having a bad day I just gotta remember. .......that it's HIM....he's totally F#@%king Gregor.....and that I'm always welcomed back to Studio One. In that moment......that's when everything is alright again.
I have a Macro/Keyboard-Shortcut set up to split events according to my range selection and then do the auto-crossfade at the borders (Strg+Alt+X). It's a huge timesaver when editing Voice Over or Vocals and I just want to attenuate or accentuate a single word or syllable - without the crossfade this can produce an audible jump in Volume. Highly recommend it! However I would welcome a option to disable fades being applied to all selected events. I work on a podcast and especially when working in feedback after most of the edit is done, it involves moving around a lot of parts - which means having a lot of stuff selected all the time. So I then need to deselect everything to work on a transition of a newly inserted section, then go back and select everything* and move it back into place. There's been a ton of Ctrl+X during this process because I've only noticed I had been applying fades or length-adjustments to everything but didn't notice because I was zoomed in. *By the way - is there a way to enable VCA- and Bus-Automation alongside Events? I always have to select those independently
I've been using Studio One for several years but I've still been able to pick up a few things from this series of videos. Thank You! If there isn't one already, I'd love to see a video explaining the various snap and grid settings and how to work around them especially when you're trying to move audio around in Studio One by exact bar measurements.
Gregor, great video as always! My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but is there a way to discover the acceptable parameter values for a command with arguments? In this example, one could reasonably guess the crossfade time would be a positive real number, likely indicating seconds, but what about the other parameters that you didn't enter? It seems that it would be good to have some parameter guidance when double clicking on the command and entering values!
Great additional tips! Never knew about the removing multiple crossfades for example.... and I really gotta get started on using macros. You can even assign keyboard shortcuts to them (something I learned just yet). Awesome tips, thank you very much!
Thank you Gregor! You're content is always incredibly helpful. Loving Studio One so far, and learning has been a breeze and a pleasure thanks to you and Joe Gilder's videos. Interested to see how I can try applying these various methods of crossfading into my own projects. Thanks again!
Every time I watch one of Gregor's video-I have to remind myself that it will be several years to catch up on all these tricks. Truth be told, I couldn't discern any change watching the video-maybe it was the genre of music? I think I stumbled onto Crossfades after recording a guitar track. It changed the whole guitar track and rendered it unusable. I can see this being useful with anything but rock/blues in a standard time format-3/4 or 4/4 time. Trap/LoFi/Rap genre's use more electronic sounds. But I digress-I am nowhere near a power user. Still- was interesting to see how to invoke the command and the 3 tricks. Maybe I will try this with vocals. Thank you Gregor.
@@thedevilsadvocate5210 Yes-thank you-But I currently do not use any "click tracks". I use EZ Drummer and create my initial drum beat. Sometimes, I will have a song completed with just EZ Drummer and a guitar. After, I add vocal and bass tracks and additional tracks as needed.

This is great, thanks. Any way perhaps to adjust the length of autofades? Edit: Other than the manual way I mean. Like a setting for the length of autofades we get when we press Shift+X. Because sometimes the transient gets lost when applying autofades automatically.
Simply try to create macro similar to example in video, but instead of using "Create Crossfades" choose "Create Autofades". In arguments you can specify the length of the fades. Then you can add a new shortcut or assign "X" keyboard shortcut to this macro, if you will.
