- Mater Dei vs Santa Margarita gave Trinity league fans one wild friday night at the Santa Ana bowl. Both teams look to be hitting the CIF playoffs in stride and something had to give. This game could have gone either way and was decided in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Mater Dei football and Santa Margarita football put on one entertaining show to end the regular season.

Mater Dei's entire defense needs to run footballs version of suicides!! softest play I've ever seen by them, most unathletic quarterback they had trouble tackling and DBs could'nt cover anyone! and the offense its okay to Nickle and dime your way down the field every play doesn't have to be a homerun.
Ya, that qb looked slow and they still couldn’t corral him but 5 for Santa margarita looked like he would give any team fits. He made some great catches and had a lot of YAC.

I would say being down 21-19 with under 5 minutes left and a first down away from field goal range is down to the wire against MD. Especially since MD usually sits their starters by halftime.
Thay smhs qb sucks when they were down by 21-16 before they kicked the field goal to make it 21-19. He had 2 qb read runs inside the 10, and each time, the ends were collapsing. If he wouldve held on to that ball on any of those plays. It's an easy 6 walking in. Plus he's so slow he moves in slow motion.
