Congrats on your porgress! I am new around here, can you explain or point me to a video about this roof cost? That's clearly a serious roof at 44k!

@TheahLil Welcome! I believe I first mentioned it probably in my March recap or maybe April or May. But the short story is the whole roof was replaced along with all the plywood underneath and the gutters. We replaced 6 windows upstairs along with 1 of the skylights and covered over the other 3.

@@kronsonfamily Isn't it bonkers how much house costs are? It really blows my mind. Most people don't build such things into their ideas for how much home ownership is.

@TheahLil yes and I have to admit that I was a little bit naive to the maintenance and upkeep costs of a larger home. I didn't want a house this big but I couldn't find a small house on a large lot (I have almost 3 acres).

@@kronsonfamily Wow, 3 acres is large! Indeed, I think its the norm that we are all naive when it comes to cost of home ownership, and yeah I can see how a really large house is just that plus exponential. Right now I'm feeling very anxious about a home repair. I think that's another cost to be awknowleged about home ownership. In my case I own a duplex and live in part of it. Most of the time I feel really happy and great about that. Times with repairs, especially an older home where its often a can of worms, it is stressful. All just things to know , awknowlege, and I feel like people need to talk about these realities more so its common knowlege

@TheahLil Yes I don't think people factor int he cost of upkeep when they compare rent vs mortgage. They often think it's all wasted money or it's all equity and that's not the reality. Congrats on the duplex, that's such a smart way to save on home costs if you can keep good tenets. I think I would feel weird about being a landlord and living right next door especially.
