What a treasure. Every golfer should play this type of all well-rounded equipment. I played muscle back blades as a 10 handicap and got so much better just within one year. Don't just rush to the shot. Take time and fine tune your swing, it will make you a better player. Will go get test for S-3 soon. Definitely a candidate for my 2025 bag.
I watched the ball stats when you were hitting that S3 7i...at 7:55 was shaking my head a bit on the carry distance and total distance...then I looked at the approach angle...51.7!! Wow. Nothing feels like a Mizuno.
I’m a 15 handicap (low 90s swing speed ) and just went through a fitting and this was the best fit. The 925 forged was off for me, the t150s were close but numbers, control and most importantly my confidence was through the roof. I respect the opinion and appreciate the content but I think people need to be focused on the feel of the club. I’ve been watching a bunch of videos on new clubs and really was off-put when my fitter told me to give the s-3 a swing but they really were the best option. Unsolicited advise for your viewers, get into a fitting, hit every head and shaft combo you can and find that combo that works for your game.
We’ve said this for years. We can fit a club and tell you what performs best but if you don’t enjoy the feel or even the look it’s wasted. Hence why we encourage to try plenty of choices!
Looks timeless. I’m definitely trying this. If I have to bend the longer iron(s) 1 degree strong for extra firepower I will but first want to check the feel and numbers. Nice review
Very informative. I am struggling with fl research trying to figure out what may be the best fit for me. I am a higher swing speed player (96-97mph with 7i and 121+ driver). So, I don’t need help launching the ball nor with distance. But I am inconsistent as a ball striker so I still need some forgiveness. Just not in a tradition sense of what most irons provide. This will be a consideration for me moving forward.
I would think you swing it plently fast enough to play that club. The question is whether you could accept less yardage than what you're playing currently with your irons. I personally made that choice a few years ago with no regrets, and i have a similar swing speed to you. They will will go a more consistent distance, hold more greens out of rough, and you can hit them softer and still hold the green. Yes you lose forgiveness, but you gain feedback with does improbe your ball striking over time
If I was playing more then 100% I would be fine with that. But for the amount I’m playing on course I’m used to my stock yardages so wouldn’t want to re calibrate at this moment in time…. But 100% see the value in doing so for this irons consistency! 👍🏻
RRP $/£200 per club, pretty standard pricing amongst the big manufacturers nowadays and still cheaper than 245s. Weird that you'd say they're seriously expensive / not cheap... they aren't Miuras. Also if you put them in the bag for 4+ years, they work out cheaper 😉
@@AFGOLFSTORE Good point and I agree, £200 for an iron is certainly up there. Ridiculous that it's become almost the norm for the flagship new releases from the big brands 😫
These Mizuno Pro S-3 irons do look absolutely stunning but as you mentioned they are most likely going to be really challenging to hit for 99.99% of all golfers, so how do these irons compare in performance and forgiveness against the Cobra King CB which I currently play?
@@AFGOLFSTORE Ah right thanks, well they are not for me as I am more of a players CB player, I have been considering a combo set of the Cobra King Tour and CB in the new black DBM finish as they look amazing.

Nicely put! Playing irons like this definitely keep you focused

thanks
I had my fitting and after 3 hits, I ordered my set. Can't wait. LOVE MIZUNO IRONS.
Wow! That’s great! Enjoy them

Go for it!
I like your honesty
Beautiful iron. Great review. Surprised the spin was only high 5's given loft and delivery etc. I'd expect the spin to be nearer 7000s
Just bought TM P7cb but damn these S3's look great...maybe next year.

Looks like the 919 Tour iron. The best tour model they made.
Pure 🔥

Good way of thinking of it 😃 anything over £200 is definitely a considered purchase and up there when you consider the cost of ZXi as a comparison 👍🏻

Probably closer to the King MB in terms of profile looking down. High launch, spinny but incredibly feel!

Srixon may be a contender for you?
My 919 tours are 34° in a 7 iron, so what's the difference
Yep I still game the 919 Tours. Thinking these will be an easy transition, perhaps blending with the 245s or JPX 925 Forged in the longer irons
Same with my 921s
I think I’ll stick with my Takomo 301 Combos. Half the price and does the same exact thing.
this iron 1 degree stronger than my mp32, i still use mp32
Such a great iron the mp32
Looks like MP 18
These will replace the t100 2023 for me
Amazing
34° seven iron used to be considered strong. Just sayin…
Yes it did
