Thanks! Yes, I wish the same. The fact that this game is open to modification is already a huge success. Let's see, maybe WRCG will have a great future.
Oh, it's no problem! Yes, I feel like the mod is still very raw. You know better than anyone else what potential the physics in this game actually has. I really hope that much more can come out of this. Well, in the meantime, great work, good luck to you!
Good video! I find the online racing of rally games to be such an important part of the experience, so I can't see myself ever going for a mod that breaks that aspect of it. All the same, it'll be interesting to see where modding for these games goes in the future.
Thanks! I agree, online is an important component for many people now. In that case, we have three options: EA WRC, RBR and Dirt Rally 2.0. The first one is more arcade-like, the second one is more realistic, the third one is a compromise between the first and the second. For me, the process itself is probably more important. Online requires more spare time.
Great video, i'm very positive about the future of WRC G, i think there's still alot to do in terms of modding, but the game is a great base, same as beamng.
To be honest this wrc game is perfect and visually beautiful the models of the car are perfect the downside is the library hopefully with mods we can add more cars and tracks.
Wtf is your PC... are you using HDD instead of SSD? Cause for me in Generations it takes about 10-20 seconds to load up... seriously, if you're not using an SSD in 2024 then please don't talk about load times cause modern video games are NOT meant for HDD, nothing made in the last 4-5 years is meant for an HDD, you NEED an SSD and to be fair I bought a 2TB SSD for something like 70euros... otherwise if you are using an SSD and it takes this long then your PC might even need a complete wipe on your hard drive cause there is absolutely no reason it should take this long...
Well, a start has already been made, let's see to what level this can be improved. The question is whether it is possible to achieve realism in such an unrealistic coordinate system. My opinion is that everything here needs to be modified to get an acceptable result.
My favorite part is 8, because it followed the revolutionary, but still too arcade 7th part. And the 8th part is already a polished game, which in essence will not change in parts 9, 10 and G. And why do you like WRC10?
It's funny, it was your videos that were the last straw, after which I installed a mod for WRCG)) Link to your installation guide is even in the description.
You just mentioned one of the biggest things that bothers me about Dirt Rally and also the new EAWRC. It's the same thing, that it's impossible to drive in a straight line without constantly make corrections with wheel. In RBR if the road is straight, the car will go straight like IRL. And the policy of making SS just doesn't inspire either.
Cool, so you and I feel the same way about this problem! By the way, earlier, when I played with a controller, I even rather liked it (yes, it was more difficult to move in a straight line than in RBR, but otherwise I really liked it). But after I bought a steering wheel and a direct drive base, I feel some discomfort, the car constantly somehow tilts to one side or the other. Especially after RBR you even feel some annoyance when driving in a straight line, it feels like something is wrong with the settings, but no matter what I change in the steering or feedback settings, nothing helps. And once you realize that this is a chronic problem with all of Codemasters' recent games, there's no doubt that this is simply how the core of their physics is designed. How I wish I could implant RBR physics into Dirt Rally 2.0. As they say, there's no harm in dreaming...
Yep, that's right. There's no more space on my ssd. WRCG is installed on hdd. But even for the hdd this is too long. On the other hand their stages look awesome..
@@imagineracer the problem is that ur using modded WRCG in an hdd, the unpackaged version already makes loading times like double the time, ur doing overkill with that + hdd xd
I play all rally games. From launch I've said that generations felt the closest to RBR out of anything out of there. I still haven't touched the modded stuff. I think generations and everything KT has made is the best modern rally experience we have. I think anything Codies put out doesn't hit the mark at all.
Did you ever try to make a donut in WRC Gen ? You couldn't do that. Meanwhile you could do that in RBR. Even you could do that IRL too How do you felt WRCG so close to RBR then?
@mesasartworks I don't see how you say you can't do a donut in WRCG. After the initial spin your rear end will change trajectory based off the shifting of the weight. In dr2 the car will make a perfect circle which isn't realistic at all. There was a RUclipsr who specifically spoke about this in one of his videos.
Rbr's problem is that its road surfaces are unrealistically bumpy especially on gravel stages. But on tarmac yeah it gives the almost perfect driving experience with new modified tarmac stages graphically. If new AI technology improves and gives a chance to enhance graphics, road surfaces etc., Rbr will be the perfect rally simulator. Wrc generation has also a potential due to allowing modifying car setups, physics. Cars rotations and its weight transfer is also close to the realistic driving which is cars don't rotate from rear side of the car like codemasters games or new EA rally game.
WRC Generations has a potential, I completely agree here. And Codemasters needs revolutionary changes in physics and openness to modification to compete with RBR. But unfortunately this is not a realistic scenario. Especially being under the financial protection of EA.
Exactly which physics mod did you use? There are several with the RS mods and they are not all the same, .6 is slippery compared to .5 for example. These are ongoing developments and will change more going forward. Also, stage loading times are fast so you must have old PC hardware. Your driving in hood view....and luv RBR...we got that.
Yes, I used 0.6 version. And it didn't seem slippery enough to be realistic to me. Overall this mod is a big step forward, but as I said in the video, there is still a lot that needs to be modified in this game to achieve realism. Everything feels too artificial, unreal now. I use RBR as a universal currency of realism in rallying. I love all rally games and Generations is no exception. Although if we talk about WRC from KT, then I spent most of my time in 8 and 9 games. No, I don't have an old PC, it's just that my SSD is almost full of the games and programs that I often use. And Generations are installed on HDD. But even for HDD this is unbearably long. Although KT games have some of the most beautiful and atmospheric stages, so this is forgivable as well.
Yes, if we don't consider the power of the cars, then all these cars not much different from each other. Let's see what modification potential this game has. The beginning of work on this still looks very positive in my opinion.
I hate WRC Generations, even more coming from WRC 9 and 10 and 10 was also a step back after 9. Everybody trashed Kylotoon games and they really step back from the series before it was over. Not gonna forget the past and what they done.
Yep, part 8 was my favorite. But to be honest, overall I like the whole rally series from KT. It's just that the last parts were not much different from the previous ones. And of course the most ridiculous sound design, which they never fixed even in Generations.
Agree, 9 for me is KT peak, a refinement of 8 which was wonderful. 10 is great but it felt like a precipitous game. Maybe because they decided to add too many cars at the same time, the sound got worse, etc.
WHY? does every video become a comparison between it - and RBR? This video supposedly was about MODS for Gen vs MODS for DR1, and was the reason I clicked on it. Instead it is just another RBR glorification. Come on - let's move on from RBR, OR make a video that clearly states that it IS a comparison of RBR and other rally games, so I don't have to waste my time on it.
I use RBR as a universal currency of realism in the rally segment of sim racing in my opinion. This does not mean that I hate other games, and glorify RBR. RSF plugin for RBR is free and no one benefits from the glorification of this game. There isn't a modern rally game I don't like. Both Generations and EA WRC are great games with their own strengths and weaknesses. Every game will get some attention if I have time for it. And yes, this is a formal comparison. The DR mod wins here in my opinion by a wide margin.
bro have u even driven a car IRL 💀 u cant get a "magnetic feeling" from this game, and even less if u have played the previous games, because WRCG is the less grippy of the series, many ppl complained when it came out that the cars slided in tarmac and the mod itself makes the car more slippery but in a more correct way. the reason why this game is comparable to RBR is not because of the tyre model to begin with, its because the suspension model is comparable if not more complex than the one found in RBR, which is the main aspect a rally game should aim for, because if rally was just about tarmac roads is as simple as installing assetto corsa mods, why do u else think ppl play RBR when it has a way worst tyre model then?
Yes, I drive car in real life. And I have had experience driving many commercial analogues of classic rally cars. Unfortunately, it was the analogy with the magnetic strip that came to me during playing WRCG, apparently this is how the developers implemented the downforce that occurs when picking up speed. Logically it makes sense, but here the effect has an arcade feel. As for the suspension behavior here, it seems to me that this is the weakest side of both the game and the mod. Even in this video and even with a bonnet camera you can see how unnaturally the suspension behaves, pay attention to where I'm driving Ford Puma. Unfortunately, it's in KT games that this is implemented in the worst way. This manifests itself when you tear the car off the road surface, and when you land you stick again. I really don't like this feeling of sticking to the surface. And in this same video the car's behavior in Dirt Rally during jumps and landings looks very natural. If modders in Generations have the ability to influence the suspension behavior and such things are fixed, then that would be great. Now the physics of cars is already a big step in the right direction. Let's wait and see.
@@imagineracer have u thought that maybe the problem is that ur suspensions are stiff? if u used the extreme damage mod ur suspensions break in finland if they are too stiff, and they have that nasty landing (which is not happening because this game is very forgiving with damages). if u soften them correctly, they will land naturally even from big jumps. just try portugal stages and see for yourself how important is the suspension tuning in this game, if its not properly done ur going to struggle just like in any real life car, even F1s need proper suspension setups! the problem is that the default damage and the safer suspension one are way too bland with it, the extreme mod is way more similar to RBR in terms of damage and should've been included in the video.
Loading time is regionale considering Generations was the real first having Very Long stages plus.. if you tryng to compare the details on every stage compare to Ea Sports or Rbr youll get very reasonably "why" the loadings are so "Long"
