- Ja Morant, one of the biggest prospects in the 2019 NBA draft is going to under a minor arthroscopic procedure to remove a loose body in his knee, as reported by ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski.
What are these loose bodies, and what types of things cause them? This video about Ja Morant highlights the TRUTH behind what these loose bodies can be and why are not always just a minor thing you can deal with and then forget. It will be very crucial for any prospective teams to get a clear understanding of his knee health in order to understand why he got this loose body.

Background music 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Really hope this doesn’t make the Knicks lose out on RJ
My new favorite channel, thank you for these videos. Very interesting and educational.
You bet! Thanks
Love the vids, keep up the good work
Thanks!!
It seems like every year more and more of the hyped prospects require surgery due to loose bodies or even ligament damage/tear, do you think this can be due to their heavily loaded year-round schedule with no real off-season to rest and playing up to 3-4 AAU games in a single day at times? Also maybe the overfocus (don't know if it's a word) on one sport an its biomechanics leading to an overload on certain parts of their limbs implying some sort of overcompensation from the body to keep performing thus leading to more injury proneness??
I'm late to the question, but I also wonder if it has anything to do with modern training regimens leading to increased strength and explosiveness.
I’ve got loose bodies in my ankle and didn’t really know too much about it so thanks for letting me know
Love this info!
he is still gonna be the second if it is unstable it is holding him down so when they take it out and he goes right back to the training he is gonna be in the best shape of his life and teams know this. this isnt something that is gonna occur after a year or two so ja is great. this is helping his career.
This is why I choose my major as Health and Wellness
Praying for you ja!
My man's had a long night lol
BBN ON TOP!
Plz do an update on pgs and Russell Westbrook’s injures
Their hearts are still broken
I had this procedure. I’ve come back way better than I ever was. Only thing is my knee is sore at times
You're an old man that's why
He reminds me a lot of Derrick Rose so let's hope he doesn't have the same knee issues that Rose has had to deal with through his career.
Deejay Trekk if you told me D Rose would have the injuries he did, as well as the success that he did, I would still take him first overall in that draft class
@@FelixOh I still would BUT I'd probably give him to the Spurs. They know how to rest players (Kawhi is just the exception cause he's shifty like that)
@@TheNamesDitto It was tibbs fault on why rose got injured. He overplays his players
@@FelixOh Mate teams want to win championships. Not have players that are good for 3 seasons and useless afterwards
make a video on ozgood schlatter’s disease please
Great video!!! Can loose bodies be absorbed in the body? What is your perspective on prolotherapy, PRP, and stem cells regarding damaged cartilage?
Mumbo jumbo.
i had a loose body. no danger of dislocation/injury but it hurt like hell most of the time
Should I be worried that my knees pop every time I go up or down stairs
The Axe if it doesn’t hurt you’re probably fine
Same. I usually get a crunching noise when I manage to fold my knees
@The Axe How old are you though? If you're in your 20s then that's a concern. If you're in your 40s then it's more common I think.
T'lan Imass nah I’m 17 😂
Could just be synovial fluid...
Exactly what ive had, crazy that ja morant doesnt have arthirits, i got it from worn out knees after playing soccer at an elite level
I think I know the mechanism behind this from following soccer injuries: this can be caused by rupturing tendons right at the bone and so violently it takes a part of the bone with it...that's what kept Marco Reus from playing in the 2014 Brazil world cup and put many older guys into retirement! I don't know how they treated Reus or if there were lose bodies but thanks anyways !
i got knock knee as well as loose body so should i get surgery
Hey Doctor Brian can you give me some more information on the procedure cam reddish is having?? 🤔.. what does it mean ??
I saw it's something related to a core muscle injury (also called sports hernia, athletica pubalgia). Idk what specifically they are doing but the location is where the ab muscles come down to insert on the pelvis right where the adductor muscles originate.ill look into it some more
@@BrianSuttererMD Awesome Doc!! Thanks... 💯💯💯💯.. I need my Lakers to draft him.. 😎.. but not if this is going to be a reoccurring issue or something 😦
Sugury ka baade bhi sweeling ho rahi hai to kya karna chaiye
Why do my knees always pop? I don’t have any joint or knee problems, as I know of.
Brian, how you gonna switch up from IU to Kentucky like that? 🤔😂
Doc can u make video aBout patelofomoral syndrome
You should do athletes with loose joints
Zion Williamson wearing a Paul George Jordan shoe

Seek the opinion of a medical professional...in person
When it comes to damaged cartilage, isnt an allograft an option after they clean up the area?
What the hell. Why would need need a graft🤣 that's for a fkn ligament rupture 🤣
@@frazer9 cartilage also you Muppet
Watching this video is making my knees hurt
Welp this will shake up the draft
DeAngelo Russell had it last season & made his 1st All-Star game
Ive had 3 loose body removals and now need a 4th. Ive been super careful and it keeps happening
Wtf I just found out my fist but you can get multiple?!
@@KeemvsKeem i am missing cartilage from my trochlea. Everytime i tried rehabbing more cartilage chipped away. My only advice is to not do anything that hurts. I go pretty hard with the weights. Now im feelin good but its been a long horrible journey. I learned the hard way
The injury has to be serious otherwise why wouldnt he have just waited to have it until after the draft.
If he did it after the draft he wouldn't be able to perform workouts that he needs to improve his game.
@@genethetimemachine5514 idk why he is even doing workouts....he is either #2 or #3 now that he messed around with it he may go #3 or #4....
@@goduke3954 Lol
@@genethetimemachine5514 lol
He said he would be walking the same day
If you watch his highlights carefully he lands almost like Rose used to 😪😢
Will his injury potentially ruin his career?
David Nelson maybe but the way we lands on his jumps will
Son tires already going flat
UncleSleaze_ too much hard work
Why would you take him over RJ Barrett unless you specifically need a point guard.
Because RJ Barrett sucks
yung yayuhz Nope
@@yungyayuhz113 Russell Westbrook fan is obvious. Clearly you want to support players that won't anything for 30 years between them.
Because Ja's has a higher ceiling than RJ
EpilepticRabbit grizzles rebuilding so they probably want to start at a point guard because they have mike Conley who can mentor Ja
How long did you attend The university of Kentucky?
Dwyane Wade probably till he got his medical degree
Could his injury cause him to become a bust instead of the generational talent he was going to be otherwise?
I believe I have something like that. One time around three years ago I played on a ground with a little bit of sand on it because it was near a beach. After a while my knee had a kind of locked feeling where I could still move it but it felt odd somehow. Since then I have this "locking" every few months for a few hours but never when I do sporting activities. Is this a loose body and should I look into it guys?
Hey doc an u tell us about you eyebrows? And what’s the name of the disease ?
Post football ¿ :(
That's sounds like chondromalacia patellae, the same thing that happened to Iggy a few years ago
Only Memphis gets this kind of luck I swear 😤😤
LMFAO... No we don't
This is bad for morant tho I feel like if it to bad this could ruin his career
So basically ja has Brandon Roy knee disease
Hopefully he doesnt turn out like Brandon roy :(
Go cats bruh
So basically cartilaginous loose bodies are just *B O N E L E S S* osteocartilaginous loose bodies.
i get the reference
Cam Newton surgery video!!!!!
Let's hope it's a myth by him to avoid being drafted by the Grizzlies 🙏🏼
Lol
Ja Morant only doing this to get away from Memphis😂
Bro I was a fan of you until you wore that shirt lmao go Cards
Shiii. Ja gonna be a bust #HopefullyNot
