I own a 72 with a modern 350 fuel injected motor 350HP and a 5spd manual. I drive it everyday has air cond, high perf suspension, side pipes and leather. It’s loud as hell and scares small children and dogs. I love it.
Dude that's awesome that it's your daily
How is the engine reliability?
"Scares small children and dogs" hahahaha xD
@@truthbetold89its a 350 or 454 best motors ever made
Ahh yes... The scare small children and dog package C3...my factory side pipes quite small and still wakes my neighbor up... The mild 383 looping with 3 1/2-in collector of the long tube headers even on factory side pipes doesn't help haha
That was a good one: we don't have any seatbelts, so we'll try not to crash, as usual... hahaha
We actually don't know if he said "we'll try not to crash, as usual" or it was actually "we'll try not to crash as usual"... 😁
50 years old, and still one of the sexiest cars in the World... Fantastic!
My grandfather had a Corvette Stingray (I think a 1969) in a beautiful cherry red paint job. He used to drive me around in it whenever we'd come to visit, he called it his 'big mean red machine'. A truly brilliant car, such a classic.
I own a '74 with a 350 and 4sp. You can really just stay in 3rd and just keep pegging the throttle, that torque feel is just unbelievable.
This one only has marginally more torque than my 2.2L Mercedes diesel (340 to 366Nm).
I want a C3 so bad. I wish manuals werent so rare for them.
@@th3m1ke unfortunately we're both in the same boat. Manual ones are really hard to find.
@@wannabecliffburton4275 Yeah. Luckily Im also in the boat of not being able to swing a C3 right now haha
@@gustavmeyrink_2.0 one is a manual transmission putting the power directly to the wheels while the automatic uses a torque converter putting the power through the fluids between what are basically 2 fans microscopically close together then to the wheels. It’s not the same feeling. Also the C3 probably generates at least 400 n/m.
200hp is way bs. This was the rating with all the emission reduction killings they had back then. This thing is obviously "open" with some mods and will make 300-350hp on the crank easily. Great vid btw.
+BarryEssex Yes, we think so too. Thanks!
If it's had a rebuild, is it even possible that it's got a stroker crank in it? If it's actually a 383 then it could be making 400 horses very easily...
350ci - 200HP Engine (standard), 350ci - 255HP Engine, 454ci - 270HP Engine (n/a in California)
Way cool. Great review.
That is illegal in holland and belgium , impossible bzcause of emission test
You look at this and then look at the c7
Damn i would take this over a c7 any day!
Ammar well said
&HYPE WARRIOR!!: Well I could have said that Lol
i mean if you aint a true corvette fan than yeah sure
this thing is like way fucking better than a c7 or even a c8
Jassim Aljeeran this car is not better than the newer corvettes, in your opinion it’s cooler but there’s nothing better that this car has compared to the c7 or c8 technology has come along way
I'd love to have an early chrome bumper C3 like this, a C5, a C6 Z06, and a C7 ZR1...
THE SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video really put a smile on my face. I came here after watching some videos of the ZO6 on the autobahn, as it's nice to see those cars being opened up on the highway. Unfortunately, here in the US you can't really do that, well at least not legally...Then I came across this video and had to click on it. You see, my Dad has one of these cars! His is a 1969 with the big block 427 Tri-Power, 4 speed with side pipes. Pretty much the same car as here. I love the fact you took such pleasure in driving this car as I do when I get to drive my Dads! I need to show this video to him the next time I see him, I'm sure he will enjoy it!
I fell in love with the c3 vettes in 68 when I was 12yrs old. I got a 69 427 4sd at 18 in 74.
I sure wish I still had that one 👍👍
This car is epic god damn the sound, accelerate, the art, everything is perfect ..!
I leave tomorrow to buy my wife her birth year Corvette, a 454, 1970. I'll actually be driving it most of the time. It's a former show car that is in similar color to this one, it's called Candy Black Cherry. It has been on several magazine covers and won 80+ awards but the pain is showing its age as it was custom painted back in 1983. This one has a bit more chrome in the engine bay. You do look a bit "crunched" in the car. I'm lucky, myself and my wife are 5'7". Nice video, I enjoyed it.
the c3 corvette is a car where not only does the car itself rumble, but 2-3 cars next to it including the ground do, as well.
legendary car
You have to drive more of these old cars
I love how these old 2-valve engines pick up so good when you shift up - instant power.
Yes ! Exactly
These Vettes always sounded so unique with that aluminized exaust, I think that’s what gives them that rasp.
It sounds so mean! I've got one from 77 and it was a bargain! Installed sidepipes and it's just such a cool car for a spin on the weekends. Drive it for a few minutes and no mater how bad the week was you'll have a big grin in your face
I want one!! Proper American muscle combined with style and comfort. Forget the C6 I was thinking about lol
My dad has this car as well in his workshop. Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
A se splača kupit C3 za 20 jurjev? Ce mogoče veš
Ja, mislim da se.
@@gasperajdnik5627 ok super hvala ti. Sem jih našel par, ampak so po večini predaleč
👍
I have '74 convertible automatic first owner car in excelent condition, i like the older type C3 from '68 til '70 and then special de 427 with 430 hp, nice and fast around 4 sec 0-60
Amazing classic vehicle...One my favorite of all time. Thanks for that amazing ride along!! Regards from Montreal !!
the paint color and the chrome is perfect. the wheels too.
I want this car
Ok
Anton NerD who wouldn't. That Corvette sounds so amazing.
73 is the last year of the really really good ones 😊
A True muscle car indeed. Now u just gotta bring back the 70s aye!!
Don’t forget the C2 from the 60s and the Godly 427 Cobra
ooohhh my fucking god... I would give my whole life to anybody to drive ONCE THIS CORVETTE. Orgasmic :D
I had a 1970 corvette steingray 350. When I was 21.. I loved that car.
I enjoyed your review and the way you slowly began to fall in love with the car. The steering can easily be adjusted, and the telescoping steering wheel quickly fixed.
There is a Corvette C3 Targa selling for 25,000€ in Slovenia

Great review guys, such a lovely car!
great review? you must be an idiot.
No. this is a great rewiev 😎
I own a 1971 Convertible Corvette fully restored. Hardtop & Soft. 383 Stroker 5 speed Tremec transmission. She's a beauty! Not for sale but can be bought. N.C. / U.S.A.
11:54 ahh! Love our 70” convertible with blue interior and never letting it go!
I had a 1971 4 speed coupe like this with a 350/300hp in Bridgehampton blue I bought in 1989 and sold in 1999. It was a fun car to drive. The frame was pretty rusty, so make sure you check the frame out before buying one if your in the market. I had Corvette Fever and I bought the first one I looked at, that was a mistake. I put a lot of money in that car and it still had a rusty frame. I found a great mechanic eventually that owned a repair shop and knew Corvettes inside and out and was a great guy. He had a 66 Corvette coupe with a big block and lived a few blocks from me.
Reminds me of my 70’s. Had a silver 71 with red interior, then later a 70 1/2 350/350, blue. Sold it when leaded premium was being phased out
The Brownish-Red color your reffering to is called Maroon sir
Bordeaux is also an option.
My dream car, a couple of months away from 18 and I'll be working and saving until I have it, probably gonna buy one off someone and make the colors similar to this while adding some touches here and there
good luck man I can't wait for you to get it!! my dream is a C7 and then I would for sure love to get a C3 for a fun car!!
@@Vette4Speed I'm planning on getting a c3 first since dream car and since it's older I'm scared of priced rising pfft
@@tacotron770 ohhhh thats true man. its smarter too honestly. which year do you want?
I have the same dream as you
Full support from France, I love what you're doing!
+BlueShadow Thanks buddy!
I'm buying that!!....don't know how I will but I will have one!
Wow, great sound and review and it's great to see a manual trans.
Wow! What a stunning motor car! ❤
I especially like how your sweater is an exact colour match! 😉
Wonderful Car & Sound! Thanks for this epic Video :)
Greetings from Austria
Those cars were much better than European, there's no comparison.
Greetings from México!
That sound is amazing! Love it
Hey AutoTopNL, it would be great if you could review more of those classic high powered cars.
It's the big brother of the old Opel GT. (3:20 I don't think this driver will fit in a GT) Great video, as usual.
i always get a kick out of seeing old american cars across the pond! they turn heads in the states so i imagine they really get a lot of looks in europe :)
Great TalkPOV guys.
Awesome car. \o/!!
+Drive Brazil Thanks!
Best looking corvette. With big block and side pipes... unf. There was once I think 9.0L fully rebuilt c3 stingray in Finland, I wonder who owns it now.
There's a guy in Denmark has a 16.5(!) litre SRE motor in one...
Why don't you lock the steering!?
I keep rewinding to 13:35 that car launches pretty damn quickly.
Love the sound and looks of it! Thanks for this video :)
The only thing I hated was there was no trunk until the last gen of the C3 and the oil crisis really did the C3 no good. But the early C3 like the ZR1 were awesome, almost as awesome as a 427 Cobra
I m just discover your channel and I think this video deserve more watch likes. I m sharing your feels about that this incredible pure v8 sound. thanks.
Worlds best car..Corvette Stingray..The new C8 Corvette mid engine supercar is fantastic..just got car of the year. By the way the telescopic steering wheel has a turning collar you can turn to lock the steering wheel.
I think in the 70s era they brought out power at the wheels (usable power after drive line losses) compared to earlier being at the engines flywheel.
I just wanted to say Thank You for this video.
nice review of what a c3 can do
My favourites are the 1967 and 1969 Corvette coupes..the best looking cars in the world. Forget ferrari lambo etc..these are way better and the best engine anywhere..Corvette V8.
The color is neither brownish red or reddish brown but Marboro Maroon. Beautiful example and nice deep tone...
has to be the best collectors car
The steering shouldn't have that much play. Something is worn. The rag joint on my 74 was worn so bad when I got it you could get 1/4 turn from the steering before any feedback. Lol
Magnifique, le bruit... J'en frissonne.. 😊👍😍
putain tu parle francais aussi
I’m and American and have owned many performance American cars. I am also a vintage, metric motorcycle mechanic. On these, you go with gross SAE measurements (300HP)
You know that telescope column locks...right?
wow that car sounds great
Beautiful. Love the respect from you European brother. "you feel like youre doing 300 but youre only doing a 100." Speed is over rated. Its about the experience and how it makes you feel.
Nice but sounded odd when starting. Something’s up with your starter. Gezzz, Lock the column! Also, it should have lap and shoulder belts.
Amazing review and reviewer!
The only word to describe the early C3 Corvettes is SEXY.
Nice. A good comparison would be to drive an E-Type Jaguar. Probably more refine, and not as visceral.
I think the manual makes a big difference in driving experience compared to the popular auto option back then.
I still enjoy this ! love the c3
Muy lindo sonido para mis oídos!!saludos desde Argentina
If you hit a tree, and that's not impossible with these road-holding capabilities, your death is immediate without seatbelts and airbag. That BMW at 10:20 did also fell in love with this Vette.
I love this car .....and his sound .....nice
I own a 69 and an 80. Both are fun to drive.
This car just oozes cool.
You're right big block rules I got one 72 with factory air Force be it's nasty
What a car! Great video.
Damn, the only car I would like more than this is a Corvette C2, I simply like the tail design of it much more.
Yea the c2s are sexy
My dad has this car hopefully I could drive it in the future
Do you think a c3 is a daily-drivable car? How’s reliability?
GOOSEBUMPS
I want one of these with t-tops in Canary yellow
Make more vids on muscle cars
17:18 GoPro hero 10 2017
73 was the last year to have a set of rear chrome bumpers*
72 was last yr for front
Great car! how about doing more reviews of some legendary old classics? cheers x)
+szumlasiatko We will if we get the chance!
AutoTopNL thats great ! you are doing the best reviews of cars, cheers x)
Last of the full Chrome Bumpers.
Very nice. My favorite auto body design.
So cool. I love the camera angle
Absolutely fabulous video, I have watched it many times! I wish it was possible to know the spec of that engine and what was done.
Omg so fast old baby!
i like how the color of your watch band matches the car color also your sweater ...an exceptionally good touche
Muscle car? I thought it was a sport, lmao
Why is it so hard to start, and why is it humming while the starter is going
Great video brother!
This car is so extremely sexy! I just love this shape! For me it is one of the most beautiful cars ever built!
Excellent Video. Very well done, Sir! I had a '73 for decades but this one is way better than mine. No seat-belts and sloppy steering in "America's sports car"? That should be corrected quick. It would have been nice to have an instrument view when you went through the gears. Head lights should always be on while driving a rare car to tip off the idiots a bit sooner. You didn't mention the brakes. This car attracts tailgaters and can get you rear ended real quick. People constantly backed into the rubber nose of my '73 knocking off the paint. My '65 BUICK seemed to have way more power, shit brakes and no seat belts but I loved the way you really had to spin the wheel so many times to turn. It helped us get into the driving experience like the manual gears and a sense of driving style. Your knees looked cramped. Must be a chore sometimes being tall like wanting a custom toilet, Thank you for helping to bring back those memory's!
