Yeah, that's a simpler piece but it's supposed to serve the song the best way possible, and it does. You know this track was supposed to be like 8 minutes long? It was Gar who convinced Dave to keep it short and sweet since it was their title track and 8 minutes would drag the song way too long. He was totally right too, 8 minutes would have been pretty annoying.
A lot of the time you could hear the Jazz influence, the two-step. He was very very good. It was sad, he was nodding off at the kit. Dave had to let him go
This is the song that put Megadeth on the map. MTV ripped off the Baseline. They changed one note, used it as their catchphrase for years and never had to pay royalties SMH
@@megarocks911 Dave is notoriously cheap. That's why he can't keep his musicians LOL. he may have said that somewhere down the road, I would never argue over it. But the articles I have read most recent bass player. Saying MTV changed the single note never had to pay royalties. I cannot imagine any artist allowing that to happen. It's a huge huge exposure, especially when megadeth was just taking off

I remember watching this on Headbangers Ball Saturday night...you just had to crawl your way through all the Poser Assrock for the first 2 hours, then the last hour something like this would kick it off into what you waited for.

I was a huge Metallica fan and little by little Megadeth grew on me and i then realized how they blow Metallica away. But i still do like Metallica, but to me no comparison to Megadeth. Who else feels this way? Keep em playing Journey
I agree , Metallica is great Megadeth is greater. When I listen to Metallica ,I have to listen Megadeth, but if I listen to Megadeth don't have to listen to Metallica. Lol
