Hi Luke, I’ve been driving trucks for 37 years and as long as the load Is secured properly and checked regularly it doesn’t matter what trailer it goes on. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there. 😎🇬🇧

Luke C.. When I had loads like this . I had 2 pieces of pallet wood about 3 feet long, held together with about 8 inches of old strap in 3 places. Then hang it over where the 2 pallets met, then strapped it with 2 straps 1 one one either side of the 2 pallets. This would hold the load really sturdy. Give it a go?

Some years ago I live in Calne on the A4, this was before the M4 middle section was built we used to get lorries of Irish peat going through. Large bags/bales in plastic. So peat with high water content, drying out and shrinking. Plastic and water plus the loads were roped not straps and may have a top sheet. Also the loads were often on a second flat bed that had craned on. Once the load started move the driver had no chance.

I have seen a few curtain trailers here but we use mostly dry vans 53’ footers with spring loaded 3” load bars to secure the load . But I can see the advantage of the curtain much quicker to unload. 👍🇨🇦

Luke why can’t you just pull over and end your route on the taco card and then drive the few extra minutes to your park up without it timing you ?
Great video as usual buddy keep them coming you’re so good at putting these together you really are ❤

Because that's falsifying records and it will soon get found out because the tacho unit in the truck never stops recording whether a card is in or out so it will log being driven without a valid card inserted

Love your videos mate. In your situation where you’re out tramping you are in the fortunate situation where you can make best use of your time but in general, no. It isn’t at the drivers discretion to use a 10. If it’s legal it can be planned, absolutely poor practice and shouldn’t be like that In my opinion. it is setting your drivers up to fail by your poor planning and putting your repute on the line but yeah can planned. It is “at the drivers discretion” as it at the companies discretion to employ you. And by refusing could be up for disciplinary for insubordination. X

The best way to sort the Tosser that plan Max Days ie 15 hrs work 9 hrs rest, Is to park up on 9 hrs Driving then have Min of 11 hr rest, Then remind them they are Drivers Hours lol see what they say to that lol

@@brianwebb191 I agree anyone that plans 10hr drives is a tosser but by doing that you’d find yourself on the chopping block.
