I saw these guys yesterday in Knoxville and they are awesome. They did a lunch acoustic before the show for a small crowd. They made sure everyone got an autographed shirt, shook hands and took pictures before they started the show and thanked everyone several times before they left. Great group of guys. This is a great song too. I don't really like live music but they killed it. Definitely worth going to see them.
I can see where people are saying he sounds a bit county but the boy can't help it he's from texas, I personally love it... yeah I miss Austin,but Marshall is doing really good I think
The moment I heard that Austin was leaving the band I was so disappointed as I knew they would never find another rock singer/frontman like him!! I will treasure my Hinder albums but won't be buying this one, the music has lost its edge and it just shows you how great Austin really was!!!
Guys why argue about genre or his singing? Have y'all heard Marshall Dutton's old stuff. I mean Faktion and Drankmore. Faktion is a rock band and Drankmore was country. Instead of doubting his skills, be impressed with his versatility. And about his singing, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT!!! His voice is epic, in my opinion it is better than the past two singers. Instead of criticizing this band's singer, enjoy it and be glad Hinder is still around.
Of all the albums Hinder has made this is one I still find myself returning to even years after. Can't tell you the last time I dug up any of their old albums or tracks but I always seem to find myself coming back to this album time and again. Austin was wonderful don't get me wrong but he WASN'T the entire band and I think folks who see him as that really need to just step back and appreciate the music the band makes.

That is the problem when you replace vocals, a Guitarist or a Drummer is easier because little changes, but a voice is never the same, at best similar, but it doesn't sound too bad, but Indeed also I will have to get used to the new sound of Hinder

ACTUALLY...Austin decided to take a break from the band temporarily to go to Rehab, and while in rehab he was working on another music project and then he decided to focus mainly on his new project, he and Hinder left on good terms and are still on very good terms!
After Austin left the group I STOPPED buying or listening to anything the band puts out now. Don't get me wrong I did try to listen to the new sound that the lead vocalist was bringing but he's NOT AUSTIN WINKLER !!!!!! AUSTIN WAS THE SOUND OF HINDER. His voice is one in a million few. So unique & beautiful that you felt, truly believed what he was singing. What Austin was singing & the music the band wrote together played together made you feel that you weren't alone. The group touched us all deep within...THAT! what was so great about the old Hinder brought to they're fans. REAL GREAT ROCK IN ROLL THAT YOU DON'T HEAR AT ALL ANY LONGER IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. As one of Hinders fans from the beginning. Its sad to say I'm no longer listening nor buying anything Hinder. Once Austin left the group to better himself inside & out that was the day I had more respect for him and I lost respect for the rest of the band who continues to do what Austin couldn't do any longer for himself,his family,his future etc. What was more important to the band? The orginal sound that Hinder had with Austin bringing the money,fan base in. THEY WERE IT!! Now they are just a band. They all could of tried to be sober to support Austin. KEEP THE ORGINAL SOUND THAT HINDER BROUGHT THAT MADE THEM THE BEST ROCK IN ROLL BAND IN OVER 30 YRS. Now they just exist. They lost a lot of fans. They were selling out places going up to bigger and better concert venue. now, they are back to the bars just being a band.

Austin left, and the band chose Nolan as the new vocalist (which was as brilliant a singer as the band could have hoped for) and then after Nolan was officially the new singer who was with them for almost a year and sang shows with them, and sang the new album and the new single (which was originally released with Nolan singing) then suddenly then band decided to drop him out of nowhere and have the producer (who was writing songs for the band) be the lead singer. The guy doesn't have the vocal chops that Nolan OR Winkler have on their records... but they are acting as if Nolan was 'never even the lead vocalist' which is a lie. and they are also acting like the new vocalist is a better singer, which is obviously not the case. Winkler was terrific as the lead singer, Nolan was terrific as the new lead singer. and the new guy is a decent songwriter, (it would be unfair to act like he can't write, because he writes pretty well) but vocally he is not matching Winker or Nolan when the the play button is pressed. Sorry, that's just the truth. (and just for the record--- Nolan Neal is a fantastic songwriter as well... but the band obviously was not interested in opening their mind up to any of that. Because if they were... they would have made sure to include a couple of his FANTASTIC songs on the new album.
mydogjesus In the new single rather hate than hurt, the lead singer shows more vocal versatility than the both of them combined. Grungy vocals, greater range, clean belting, falsetto, metal scream and clean lower register ALL in once fucking song lmao.
Nolan was only assisting for 6 months, Marshall Dutton is the new lead and has re-recorded Hit the Ground single. We will find out on May 12th what the album is like.
I have to say that Nolan Neal's version is great, but this one has a better feeling to it . Plus Marshall Dutton's voice is epic!!! I love the direction Hinder is going with their new stuff.

Nolan was the best singer of the 3...and he happens to play multiple instruments, as well lol...of course, everyone likes Austin better, because he was the original...same reason for Ozzy being everyone's favorite of Sabbath singers...he wasn't the best, skill-wise, but he was the original...so he is loved better.

Today's country radio is rock and pop music promoted as country. I agree, it's not country...but, it is PROMOTED as country, therefore, "TODAY'S country sounds like rock."

This is definitely no longer Hinder. Changing lead vocalists was a complete polar change in music genres. This leans more country-rock than anything. Honestly the guitarists are carrying the band now.

Austin didn't quit or leave...he was removed, he brought it on himself, his own actions caused it...lets keep that in mind.
