I concur. You were organized, and well spoken - knew what you wanted to say ahead of time. Yeah cool ceiling mount, I'm not a big fan of wall mounts. However, I am surprised the mount did use a Stud Bar for the center mounting bolt. I personally think upgrading to a Stud Bar would be a good idea, making sure to get one large enough
Love the setup. Maybe next time your marking out studs and gonna draw a line think about using some painters tape, then once you get your drill points figured out you can start them, take the tape down and no lines to erase.
I'd replaced the screen pivot nuts with wing nuts to make it easier to adjust by hand. No looking for a wrench every time I want to move the screen. Same for the pivot nuts up by the ceiling if I want to fold the screen up and out of the way propped up on a flat utility hook for ceilings.
I guess I'm thinking like a toggle bolt but something much more heavy duty. Mounting through the stud not just into it. Or accessing from attic and using heavy duty bolts. But maybe that isn't necessary.
Thank you for watching the video, I’m glad you enjoyed it.. it’s a safe bet the going all the way through would be better, but the hardware given in the kit was sufficient.. I had no doubts it would hold it.
Thank you very much.. I can’t exactly remember.. I bought in 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot.. it was interior paint.. I’m sorry I don’t have the exact paint for you
Great job and thanks for making this content. I ordered a similar mount today and wanted a general idea of the parts and process. It should be an easy install as I am mounting mine in the basement and the floor joist studs are exposed. Thanks again for the time you spent creating this content. #2thumbsUp
Hey Jake. For what your using it for it seems you thought it through. I think there's a decent amount of guys that are thinking, why not put a 70" or 80" inch tv up there. Because then you would never get any work done and all you would be doing is goofing off. The shop has really come along nicely. I am looking forward to seeing your video's in your new resin room. I can't wait to see how you finish that room with all the resins, mica powders and dyes, etc..Anyway, it's really looking good Jake.
Did you drill in to around a 1.5" wide ceiling joist? I have a 2x6" ceiling joist (covered patio) and was apprehensive about being wide enough (1.5") to support around 75 lbs. I guess make sure and drill straight?😁 Thanks
I'm sure the new TV will allow you to read viewer comments well Jake. I just have one question, do you allow beer, peanuts, and pizza in the Resin Room? I think it would make a great location to watch the Super Bowl!!!
Do you do resin as a large amount of your income? I lost my job and started doing resin coasters. Im hoping if these sell well i can buy better tools and materials. How do you get your wood without spending a ton of money in today's market? Is there any place that sells for very cheap and/or free and i could pay for shipping so i can do bigger projects?
Selling resin products is 0% of my in come.. I give pen blanks away every week on Instagram to promote them, so when I get ready to sell them, I already have customers. I trade for wood when I can, I promote people I like, and end up trading with them.. I have bought lots of wood on auctions.. I tend to get the damaged or warped pieces because they are cheaper.. I will be selling things soon, but as far as my income goes. For the last 3 years or so, I’ve worked a job and put in 72-120 hours a month in overtime. Neither my woodworking or my art projects have paid for anything in my shop.. I have a nice shop and that makes people assume that I have a lot of money coming in, it’s just not the case at this time.. I use the discount codes I talk about for the products i use. I usually buy during holidays when the products are on sale. I hope this helps 👍
@@JakeThompson it definitely helps. I didn't assume you had a lot of money coming in. I asked about the resin income because i am still trying to figure out if its even feasible to use it as a viable source of money or if no one is really interested. Just watched your shop update and its looking good. Im working out of a one stall garage and cant wait till i have a shop like yours.
Your video sets a new high standard for anyone looking for real information on the subject of ceiling mountings. Thank you.
Awesome.. Thank you! 💪💪
Your stud finder roped me in. ... I’m here watching. 🤣. Good demo! 👍
😂😂 I was going to throw a joke in there but decided against it. Lol
I’m 50, I lost my filter. 😂
GREAT TO SEE YOU MY FRIEND LOOKING GOOD
Thanks Doug!! 👍👍

Awesome Jake!! Looking forward to the next Patreon/Liveshow
Me too buddy!! 👍👍
Looks great. You totally missed out on a dad joke when you were using the stud finder.
Lol too predictable.. 😂😂
Great instructional video Jake!!! I don’t think you’ll have any problems seeing the comments now!!!😜😜😜
I’m too cool for glasses lol 🤓

Good stuff.. great idea. 👍👍
I think that TV is bigger than me. No more squinting for this guy. Good job. 😉
If I squint now… I’m really in trouble lol
@@JakeThompson I agree!!!
Kris no one is bigger than you

Looks good Jake

Besides the great instructional video I must ask what kind of paint did you use in that room? I love the way it looks.

@@JakeThompson No worries! But thanks for the vid as well! Now I know which tv mount to buy and how to install it.

Very welcome.. glad I could help.. great comment! 👍👍
Nice 📺 screen

Hi Jake, this is Sis Helen!

Thanks Mike!! After building the room I didn’t even look at tv’s that big.. but it sounds nice lol
Yep, I thought why not a 65"?!
Ok ok ….
Now I need this in my shop 😝😝😝😝🥸
Cheap man!! Super cheap lol
Even assuming all your connections are wifi, you still need Power?
I have outlets in the ceiling
I would have nowhere to move in my shop if I put up a screen that size 🤣
😂😂 it’s not small 😂

It was an inch and a half.. measure twice hope to drill once lol
Recently mounted my tv to the ceiling
Unfortunately I assumed it was at least a 90° swivel so now I got an actual swivel so I can rotate it how I want
👍👍👍 awesome!
Where do you get the electric to hook up to the tv
I have a plug in on the ceiling ..
I'm sure the new TV will allow you to read viewer comments well Jake. I just have one question, do you allow beer, peanuts, and pizza in the Resin Room? I think it would make a great location to watch the Super Bowl!!!
All of that is allowed.. just use coasters lol
Wow! Spot on video mate. Was the mount base screwed into an I joist? How is the TV load today? Very helpful RUclips. Subscribed!
Thank you… it was screwed into a joist.. it did just fine .. no problem. 💪👍
You sure the TV is big enough 🤔😁
Man, I'd be so afraid of that thing falling 😰
I’m a professional mam.. 😂😂😂 it really is up there pretty good! 😀
@@JakeThompson I'm scared of everything falling 🤣 The fear I have living with a ceiling fan in every room of my house is real 😱
@@ConnieConnie824 maybe I’m not a scared because I’m not very tall.. I’m already close to the ground lol
@@JakeThompson LOL
Do they make a 360 mount that flip up when not in use?
I’m not sure.. might do a google search or a quick look on Amazon

You should have shown running the wires.
@@chronobot2001 good evening.. there’s an outlet on the ceiling.. you can clearly see it..
Would this work on a slanted ceiling? Or would it make the TV crooked lol
There are adjustments that are shown in the video for slanted ceilings
This should make your lives better.only you talking is easier to hear clearly.
Jamie is still my wingman. But if or when I have to do it by myself, it will be nice..even when I just need to browse on the computer, it’s nice
Can i place it on the wall
They call those wall mounts.
👍👍👍
👍👍👊🤓
What about the wires?
The wires can go through the pole and then through the celiac if you want.
But you wont be able to join the accessories like speakers, amplifier etc? Hmmmmm
With a can do attitude you can.
Hangs too low. Makes it look cheap
@@diceflawless9115 it’s adjustable 👍
