Unclogging 4 Culverts Clogged With Leaves And Major North Conway NH Floods

- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Why is watching this chap unblock pipes so satisfying? Keep it up Post 10!
His enthusiasm is infectious, he's unpatronizing, he has a profound respect and appreciation of nature and a gift for explaining what he finds interesting; those are some of his gifts 🐱
His excitement too
Because he talks to us like we’re standing right there with him. He talks TO us, not AT us.
@phill251170, who knows why such binge watching is addictive? 😍
He’s also very knowledgeable and that takes things to another level.
"You never know what could be in 55 gallon drums deep in the wilderness."
Words to live by
I was thinking like a goonie "boobey trap" 😂 i was thinking np use a big stick lol, then after a moment, I realised he properly meant something more sinister ... 😢
I guess I watch too many CSI type shows - contamination was not my first thought.
@@janboll7174 yeah lol my first thought was kinda Sopranos-y
Probably some scrap and a salvaged axe if your lucky
@@sirkelendor5429 If you're UNlucky its dead bodies, one of which is still unidentified
How could anybody not love this man? Social courtesy. Imagine if 50% of people did just one thing a day to help others❤
I mean, at this point it is a business model haha. I love it though, watch it a lot
How could anyone not love him? Imagine you´re just a humble little worker who does this specific job because he loves unclogging these culverts for work and suddenly there arent any clogged pipes anymore because of post 10. Poor worker. The last little joy he had in his life. :(
We would go back to what it was like about 30 years ago where people were polite, talked to each other social events not worrying about closing your front door. Technology has benefited us in some ways but not in others. Loving the videos
aye
@@guypenryn7008I still have that in my neighborhood. Just gotta go out and talk to people, they still exist.
My wife asked why I liked this so much and I said I just do. Takes me back to days with my friends and family as a young boy exploring the woods and always coming home wet LOL. Now I live a suburbia life style. This is therapeutic.
Who else was satisfied with post’s finish results with a applause!! This person has my upmost respect and satisfaction for giving us a great video to watch!!!
Utmost, not upmost.
@@Pwecko No, he was upmost of the night respecting him...
@Maxid1 That doesn't mean anything. Just search "utmost v upmost" on your favourite search engine.
@@Pwecko yeah, I thought I clearly pointed out that fact.
@@Pwecko r/whoooosh
Always makes me calmer when I watch these unclogging videos
Same
There's something so satisfying about watching this man get excited about unclogging drainage pipes
Post, you are the first person I've ever encountered, in person or virtual, who shows enthusiasm toward the word "aeration." Once again, great work, sir.
"That must look awesome on the other side." Uh, actually Post, when you're sending all those leaves through, it looks like the pipe is barfing at the other end.
🤣
😁😁😁
Your enthusiasm is contagious, now I want to start unclogging culverts.
You are KILLING it lately bro, I feel like these videos are just getting better with time. Camera 2, instant water drops, multiple unclogs in one video; look forward to watching these every day after work!
I love watching camera 2 when all the water comes gushing out,so satisfying
thats my fav ... i love it aswell
You know that there's a league of evil villains somewhere planning to clog these pipes, and when Post 10 comes along with his rake and fixes them, they're like, "Foiled again by that rake wielding paragon of drainage justice!"
Keep up the good work, man! Love to see it!
They're called beavers!
I do appreciate what you do young man! You're being selfless. This screwed up world we live in, needs more people, just like you. Live well and healthy my young friend. I truly enjoy your videos!
I never someone have so much have fun with work no one would notice...great job!
About the gravel next to the road. 30 years ago I heard, the warmth of the road allows grass to grow next to it prematurely. This attracts wildlife close to the roadway, because this is the first grass to be available to them coming out of the winter. Public safety hazard. This was a southern thing. Salting roadways should kill grass next to the road. Anyway... Love the videos!
Plus the gravel is also there to help prevent fires from sparks from rocks hitting each other when one is sent flying from tires, bottles being thrown out car windows, cigarettes etc. Not really there for drainage. See that a lot where I live up north. Done properly it actually resists erosion as well.
Salt attracts wildlife too.
Granted our weather is less extreme, but here in Britain we have all sots of growth (not just grass) right up to the road. No road has a gravel edge. Many of our roads are also somewhat sunken. It doesn't cause any problem whatsoever, as far as I can tell.
This man has encouraged so many people to take control of their community and its storm safety. Huge props to Post 10. You are the benchmark others strive to match. Thank You.
That was a couple of really good ideas to warn people of that road. That is scary that the road is just gone, and if it is at night someone could have a bad accident. Thanks for being so kind to make a way to warn the oncoming drivers.
I am sooooo addicted to your videos. There isn’t a single one that I haven’t enjoyed and learned something from.
This man clearly loves his work
I know here in Maine, the gravel/sand is used for shoulder strengthening. When trucks have to pull of the road, if it's vegetation they sink in deeply and can flip. So it's a safety precaution if there is no paved shoulder.
Correct it's more of a safety issue.
Taking the time to prevent people damaging their vehicle, and even severely injuring themselves, is really appreciated.
Thank you for using correct technical terms and speaking well! Were I still teaching, I would use your videos to enhance the understanding of my students of water and it’s strength. Also, I would encourage them to help their parents rake the leaves in their yards and send them to clean Storm Drains prior to predicted storms. Fascinating!
This video kept popping up so today, November 11, 2023, I decided to look at it & it was worth it. I love mountain streams & small water falls & the sound they make. I can only imagine what it all smells like too. Nice. Yeah the road that was washed out, if a vehicle hit it, not only would it be damaged, but the people in it could be hurt too. Thanks Post 10 for another wonderful video.
As someone who has designed culverts (and a few for NHDOT, incidentally), it's nearly impossible to justify oversizing something on a run that small despite knowing full well that it's going to back up eventually, and often. The practice is slowly improving, but tends to be more focused on correctly placing/sizing bridges to avoid scour. But unless you need to justify a fish passage or something, good luck trying to get something bigger than maybe 18" approved - though as you noted, even a tiny twig lodging in the wrong way will cascade into a blockage eventually.
You are now my goto meditation/relaxation channel. Genuinely chilled. (not just because of the snow, 😉)
Love the enthusiasm post10 always has in every video
I don't know why I enjoy these videos but I do. I like the way he is so committed to doing what he does. It's refreshing to watch. No ulterior motive other than to 'unclog' and enjoy the result like a child. Wonderful. Also, they're interesting as well.
We have the essential infrastructure, but we don't have the upkeep. Thank you for your hard work. Keep it up!!
I wonder where your taxes are going?
@depends what state you live in, Massachusetts is the worst I would say probably anywhere in the country and I've been to 35 States, to be honest the most states have very good maintenance it's usually just the major cities that are underfunded since the Department of Transportation doesn't take care of those roads.
@@post.10 come to Alabama.. our roads are crap. Tons of red clay dirt roads. Especially in southern Alabama where I live
Season 2023! Yayass!
I’m loving these long videos. So much.
Like you I find this wicked cool! You do a tremendous service for the common good. I used to visit that area to canoe the Sacco quite often. Way back in the day when you could pull over and camp just about anywhere. Then it got popular. I find this excellent episode very satisfying to watch seeing that No Beavers were inconvenienced. Well done Post!
This young man deserves a Medal 🏅 for sure
How can we not enjoy watching someone doing a good deed for all of us, and he is having a blast doing it?
Those first gushes caught on camera 2 were astronomical!!
Love it 😀
I watch so many of your posts and never comment. However, this one I must. This was the most satisfying I've seen so far! My brother and I used to do this kind of thing when we were kids living out in the PA countryside and it totally takes me back to that time.
Post…. I blame you for my new addiction to watching culvert unclogging‘s. This is seriously satisfying and puts me to sleep within minutes because it’s so relaxing! Thank you so much.
I've been struggling with depression and I certainly did not expect to be blessed by this video that for some reason made me smile quite a bit. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this. Thanks!
Same here. Best wishes.
Same here. Helps me so much. He’s a blessing to me. I’ve been watching his videos for years. He makes me excited to watch
@@AmyHoward-lq5tg😊
I like the longer versions of your videos. I love the extra tidbits of info and video footage of the woods, animals etc.. 🎉❤
So cool that you left Camera 2 in position - that was the best part!. Thank you for all you do.
You sound and act more like an engineer than most of the people who maintain those roads. I so enjoy listening to you describe what is going on.
I am not an engineer and I have only been trained on how to spot hazards on dirt roads but I have fun and I will keep doing it wherever I find trouble, I have some OSHA training through the last company I worked for and it helps me spot the hazards although obviously sometimes I go into places anyways
Camera #2 was puking leaves big time with that double sequential unclogging. That was cool to see.
Beginning of the video I was thinking this guy should be working for the DOT but by the end of the video I'm thinking this guy should be in charge of the DOT.
Great work and refreshing to see someone enjoy public safety so much, I'm hooked.
With your videos it simply feels like being there and exploring!
Great video! The rain continued in the spring, summer and fall of 2023 and I've never in the past 30 years seen wetlands so flooded. We have a culvert pipe in my neighbor's yard that is blocking up with debris and that's never happened in 30 plus years.
Thanks again for sharing this video.
Hey, I live in North Conway! The recent flood was pretty rough so I appreciate what you do!
I love the enthusiasm you have for your work - makes me want to go out and do the same things. I'm not able-bodied enough any more, but I can enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
I am living off your enthusiasm right now. Had a really difficult few months and love watching these videos while I'm working. Thank you for all that you do, Post.
you are a treasure. please never stop doing what you're doing
I am impressed with the aeration, as well. Beautiful place. Your training truly prepared you for what you are doing.
When he said "were gonna going on going to more floods" and i saw it was only 13 mins in I was so excited hahah. This is still my happy place after three years
I agree with the rest. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Ive slowly been working on a road in southern Maine with a couple decent cabins at the end for a vacation destination. Give me a shout if you're in the area.👍 Love your vids!
I love how much you care and take it upon yourself to make others aware of dangerous road hazards, intentionally thinking about situations that could happen if you left the road with a gaping hole and just turned around and drove away, maybe it’s a big enough hole they’ll build a bridge this time, that 2nd culvert isn’t helping anything except you to get to the other side. I found your channel today and I can’t stop watching, mesmerizing and satisfying 😊
I love how excited you become!
You keep saying how it's so awesome and amazing to see all that go through, well Post10, I think YOU ARE AWESOME AND AMAZING!!! 👍🏆🎖
This man is on his grind these days, I can't keep up with all the vids man! Keep it up you hardworking and Honest man
why is this so satisfying and (weirdly) comforting?
I love how excited he gets when the clogs clear up and the water starts to flow. :)
Thank you for showing us places in the US I wouldn't get to see otherwise. Such beauty where you take us!
30 min of extra photage - gotta love it.
Man I love your videos never have I thought my short attention span smooth brain would enjoy an hour long video. Love your energy, stories and lessons
This area has had a lot of rain and flooding. I was on route 171 and saw many areas where people were making repairs. The good thing about rural areas is some people have tractors and backhoes to help with.
Great use of the snowmobile sign!!!
Have watched this 3x now and one of your BEST!!
A very interesting journey thanks for taking us along. Chris from England.
Even before watching the whole vid, you the maestro!!! Let's keep watching..
Beautiful areas that we get to see, love the creeks and rivers
Really enjoyed this one bud! Great job
Their pain, your (and our) gain!
This is definitely my favourite video so far this week, month, year! Awesome work Post10!😀
One of the best ones yet. The first pipe was so awesome. Keep up the good work and content Post 10!
I am Watching again and I've decided this is the best #2 camera shots I've ever seen.
I just love the enthusiasm you share in every video.
This was AWESOME, Post 10!

Love your videos! Camping and
unstopping/beaver dams, etc...
Your enthusiasm is quite intoxicating!

So happy you’re back at it love these videos so much! Love how you see and appreciate all the beauty around you❣️
That double pipe clearing was epic!
I think this is the one of the best ones so far just because of the leaves in the beginning it's so clear how much it takes in
I live in NH and i love it here, thanks for your hard work!
I picked the longer video and you definitely didn't disappoint.
Can’t wait to see your camping trip.
I am amazed it so relaxing and satisfying it is to watch the clearing of drains, and he is so good at it. Congrats.
I love the double camera angles now! Great Idea! I’m from NH too and I’ve been watching you for a while
This popped up on my feed today! I originally watched it 11mos ago. Rewatched ✔️
NHDOT needs to hire this guy. What a great video. I’ve enjoyed all his videos and look forward to seeing more!!!
