This was the best Escape, the quality, the reliability and the design is better than any generation after it!

@@walterwhite1 because it was jointly developed with Mazda. Lots of components are shared. Escape = Mazda Tribute. Also, Fusion = Mazda6.

@@kimochi33oh I was wondering why this escape kind of looked like my dads tribute in some ways, like the windows and the seats

Agreed! I still drive my Gen 1 Limited V6 from 2003. The only issue with these is the rust, other than that this is a fantastic SUV.

I can confirm. I drive 2009 Ford Escape, but Hybrid Limited. The most reliable Ford ever built. As heavy used NY and San Francisco taxi and NYPD vehicle it reached 300,000 reliability. Mine is w/ 106 K mileage and goes

I have a 2012 Escape with the 3.0 engine and 89K miles and it runs like a champ. It had 9800 miles when I bought it and I have had to do very few repairs. I just keep up with the maintenance schedule.

I have the Gen 1 2003 V6 Limited version and I love it dearly and still drive it it to this day. And fun fact, the Gen 1 Limited came with a built in Subwoofer in the trunk area.

Fantastic review. Considering one of the same year’s but here in Canada they’re severely prone to rust. Not sure if rustproofing would help all that much

You are an excellent car reviewer. Great job pointing out jey features of the car. Also, fixing these cars are relatively cheap as parts are plentiful and engine structure is simple compared to today's more modern turbo engines.

My mom and I purchased a 2023 HONDA CRV HYBRID SPORT on 5/26/2023 at HUGHES HONDA in Warner Robins, GA. We were going to buy the top of the line with leather but the SPORT with cloth was cheaper.

I just recently bought one. The Duratec V6 engines have a ticking sound i wasn't use to hearing from other vehicles i have owned. I thought something was wrong with it but i was told it's just fuel injectors and is normal.

That 2012 escape is my favourite car ever, I didn’t want the new model when I bought it because I like the square model better compared with the new one that just look like a big car

I'm really interested in getting a 4x4 version to use for camping and relatively light off road driving. Not overlanding, but want to get over stuff my little focus can't. What are your thoughts on how this suv could fill that role?

I have a 2008 Escape with that same engine. I now have over 175,000 miles on it. I’ve replaced the radio for one with Bluetooth and XM, but otherwise it’s virtually identical to the one in this video. Best car I’ve ever owned. Rides like new and I get 23-25 miles to the gallon on trips. Why can’t Ford make vehicles like this again. The new Escapes are total crap. I have driven several as rentals. Ecoboost engines are horrible. Put V6 engines back in the Escapes, Edges and Explorers and not that lousy 2.7 liter engine. I’m hoping that Ford brings this back and listens to its customers.

I have the 2008 Escape with the V6. This was a crossover year with the new Gen 2 body but retained the Gen 1 engine and 4-speed auto tranny (including OD), which I prefer because of its simpler non-VTEC design and better reputation for reliability.

      1. Have your brainbox and wirings changed to super up your power.
      2. Get new injectors & switch to motorcraft plugs; all six of em'.
      3. Inspect for compressor/air leaks and/or change your compressor
