I have zillas and nittos. We ride mainly rocks and rock ledges. The zillas work good year round. The nittos absolutely suck in the cold but do seem better in the summer. I break way more shit with the nittos. Zilla sidewalls are horrible about getting holes. That’s my take on them both.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo I have the original compound alpha's in 35" with around 1500 miles and they are holding up fantastic. I love mine. Thank you guys for doing all the work you did to make this video.im sure you enjoyed it lol but it was still a lot of work and time so thanks. I like watching this kind of stuff
Appreciate you guys going to all the effort every year to give a real world review of a bunch of options. Nitto continue to shine and seems to be a good all around tire as well. I have had good luck in the rocks with my Tensor DSR 35's and of course a great desert tire. May have to try to Nitto's for my next 35's
Enjoyed the new sticky tire review. I bought the nittos for my pro r based on your last shootout. They are awesome and I have been been super happy with them. Since you take suggestions, this test on slick rock would be helpful for us out west. Maybe even a hot tub.
I really enjoy this content and will watch every tire test you guys perform. I would like to test all of these tires on the terrain I ride. On that note, I am currently on Zillas, and love them!
You need to knock the new off all 4. I noticed especially with my 37 obors that as soon as they lost their shine, they were a completely different tire. I think each tire needs to have a day of trail riding before testing.
Its now time for a 37" tire shootout. The 37s are now getting very popular in the utv segment. I will also add ive got 35s and 32" nittos and hands down they flat out hook compared to the 2 sets of zillas i had prior. I just picked up a set of 37" obor rock scrapers that supposedly have a durometer of 6 less than the 35" obor sticky for my turbo r 4. Im so im excited to give them a try. Its always good seeing companies like obor and valor putting pressure on the big dogs.
i liked the other test it shows which tire you can get that’s a sticky and still does good on loose pack and all of that because i ride in kentucky and its 80% loose pack with 20% rocks but still like to have a sticky tire but i want one that does good in dirt and other stuff as well other than just slick rock climbing. also like the rock climbing because its a lot different than climbing a slab the softness really helps bend the lugs around the edges of the rocks to show how soft and it helps climb the rocks its self.
Crazy thing is, the nitto is the narrowest tire thus having the least amount of contact patch to the ground but still hooks up better than the other tires
Ask them. We never received a set. We tested 6 tires and that was probably one or two too many already. Don't worry we will get to the rest of them on the next one.
I've got the 37" Efx Motocrushers on 18" wheels I'm not sure all the others make any for an 18" wheel in a 37" or possibly a 34" to fit an 18" wheel but not 100% sure as I'm running 6" portals. Lol
I don't know if it makes a difference between an 18" wheel & a 15" wheel with the same size tire but that would be interesting to know 37" on a 15 & a 37" on an 18" wheel if they perform any differently Matt??
Although I realize you’re focusing on the sticky tires, it seems like you have ultra focused on how a sticky tire provides traction. Seems very strange to test tires made for rock crawling on a man made concrete slab. While this test provides a good data point, it doesn’t provide information on real world use. I heard a few snippets about how stiff the Nittos are on the trail but we didn’t see any of that in the video. I know this is a ton of work, but a thorough review requires more time and testing in a variety of terrain to be legitimate.
we went back and watched previous year's reviews and they just didn't show any real difference other than on the concrete slab. But don't worry we have something up or sleeves for a better test in the future

It's not that far from me, I live close to Birmingham.
@@BustedKnuckleVideoI'm going to see if I can crawl up it . I can crawl up stuff at Top Trails that SXS needs a running go. I have a testing hill that's 10 'and the last 2' is past straight up. Crawling is not possible but right speed is key and coming back down is not fun I can feel the back tires in the air and don't even tuch the wall. How many miles do I need to put on my Roxxzilla Competition before I can say that they are broken in? I had 30x10x14 Roxxzilla Competition before and they would stick like glue right on day one and my 32x10x14 Roxxzilla Competition hasn't been on a ride yet but some testing and they are even better than the 30x10x14.
I feel like one or two more pounds of air pressure would be an ideal seeing as how that is flat concrete and the tires didn't have to conform to a surface like a rock, probably would have mitigated the bounciness.
More tire pressure would have made it bounce off the wall, more air is never the answer when needing more traction. You don’t add air to a basketball to make it bounce less. Less pressure gives more surface area = more traction. Tires with a lot less tread depth would also give more traction.
Other than entertainment I don’t really see the point of this. New tires with rear tire burnout doesn’t really show us anything that we should base our decisions on. A useful comparison would be after each tire including the fronts are broke in and the new is completely worn off.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo no doubt. It took me a couple of rides to really get the zillas broke in. Not shitting on y’all, just saying none of the tire review videos give enough info to base a decision on. Leaf blower between runs for sure 💯
