I'm 28 years old so it's kinda hard for me to feel impressed by someone who's younger than me because of my stubbornness. But I must say, Mr.Beast surprised me (in a good way). There's a lot of people out there that pretend like they'd be virtuous philanthropists if they had that type of money. You always hear people say it "bruh, if I had that type of money I'd give it to charity." Most people that earn this type of income never give it away, they become more conservative. But Mr.Beast is out here giving it all away, feeding the poor. I hope there's a spot in heaven for this kid.
It was an interesting JRE. You wonder what the timeline is for establishment media and corporate interests to have a plan devised to first copy....then buy when their soulless version doesn't connect....or destroy Mr. Beast if he won't sell out? I have similar concerns. However, MrBeast seems to have a certain advantage. I think he's aware and has his shield and sword within reach. Or maybe he'll do anything to put out content....time will tell.
I said I am an optimist, but the dark forces out there are wild focused on gobbling up everything that they can't create or duplicate ....or lay it to waste if they can't control it.
I think that interview is great if you're 35+ and had never heard of him or RUclips before. But a lot of times an older person interviews someone on new media, half the time it turns into like analytics talk. Like Bert Kreischer interviewed a Tik Tok comedy guy and half the time it's just "how did you do that?", "how do you go viral on Tik Tok?". Like the dumbest possible questions.

The advice 40 yr old me would have given 20 yr old me. Wise words young man. i think its important to note that a youtube view isn't the same as a SuperBowl view for example. if you have 100000 views on music video that's ok, but if you have 100000 viewers live at a concert that's incredible. its like how 1 million subs on youtube is great, but on tik tok its not that crazy. he's the king of youtube but he's not the king of media, and even then his audience is mostly kids, which is less impressive than having mostly adults watching, because its easier to get a kids attention. he's insanely impressive but he's not like the media guy, because a youtube view isn't worth the same as a live view or a movie view etc, ppl on youtube watch more content, their attention spans are shorter, its easy to get somebody to click on your video, its hard to get them to watch a movie
A note that can be gathered from your note is that the landscape is so fragmented that there really is no king of media. Rogan is the closest but there are literally billions of people that don't give a shit about him. Many platforms in many styles with many people watching many creators. It just isn't all lined up like it was when it was only tv/movie/radio/print
Very fair points. Rogan getting 11 M downloads per podcast, to your point, has A LOT more influence and reach than having a youtube video get 60 M views, esp if its mainly kids your younger people. Influence is a lot grander when its adults vs kids viewership 100p. On top of that when the content is longform discussion or news vs entertainment there is also a huge disparity on the actual influence of the content creator With all that said what Mr Beast has done is damn impressive and if he were motivated by money he could easily create an empire with what he is doing.
Completely wrong on Marvel movies. That fan base is probably more hardcore than some sports teams. Actors are doing anything they can to get in a Marvel movie.
They pay him a lot and where most of his revenue comes from. Mr. Beast and his friends figured out how to suck all the ad revenue by designing thumbnails for kids, clickbait titles, and spending money on production during a time when adpocolypse’s were cutting down on manipulative toy reviews, child exploitations, and Mature controversial content. Andrew I think was referring to RUclips paying him for the ad revenue of views instead of buying the content and trying to make money on it.

I want MR BEAST here In this podcast, I want to see him and Schulz talk about anything, would be the most interesing podcast ever
yeah i wonder how that would go. Beast is trying to be more family friendly these days (which he kinda has to at that size), but he is not very PC in reality. His old content had alot more edgy jokes, he has even deleted some of the videos that used certain slurs´, etc. So wonder if he would let that side out more if he was on the podcast.
I have a feeling that he might pop up on some other podcasts after his appearance on Rogan. He is very busy with his work, so it probably won’t be a flood of appearances, but he seems savvy enough to want to spread the positive aspects of his growing business, for the greater good. Had downloaded the Rogan interview, but hadn’t listened to it before hearing Andrew & Akash’s take on it. After getting to listen to it, I dig their take on it, and promoting it for all the right reasons.

i feel like andrew missed the mark when it comes to movies. im currently 19 and my generation is still really fond of film, especially stuff like the marvel movies. knowing the names of movie starts is still pretty common as well, but tv shows not so much; which is probably because theres more of a culture around seeing movies. i do feel like the latest generation probably are more into just consuming media through youtube though, but i doubt movies will die out any time soon like TV is.

Didn't realize old people felt this left behind.

I am truly an optimist, but history says this will happen.
I have similar concerns. However, MrBeast seems to have a certain advantage. I think he's aware and has his shield and sword within reach. Or maybe he'll do anything to put out content....time will tell.
He's needs to focus banking a lot more money for himself for rainy days ahead like that , so he can always start fresh

i think its important to note that a youtube view isn't the same as a SuperBowl view for example. if you have 100000 views on music video that's ok, but if you have 100000 viewers live at a concert that's incredible. its like how 1 million subs on youtube is great, but on tik tok its not that crazy. he's the king of youtube but he's not the king of media, and even then his audience is mostly kids, which is less impressive than having mostly adults watching, because its easier to get a kids attention. he's insanely impressive but he's not like the media guy, because a youtube view isn't worth the same as a live view or a movie view etc, ppl on youtube watch more content, their attention spans are shorter, its easy to get somebody to click on your video, its hard to get them to watch a movie
On top of that when the content is longform discussion or news vs entertainment there is also a huge disparity on the actual influence of the content creator
With all that said what Mr Beast has done is damn impressive and if he were motivated by money he could easily create an empire with what he is doing.

“Actors are not common knowledge.. is t that crazy?!” Said Unironically is hilarious
Completely wrong on Marvel movies. That fan base is probably more hardcore than some sports teams. Actors are doing anything they can to get in a Marvel movie.
Yeah not sure how you miss that one lol. Multiple marvel movies have made over a billion dollars
"RUclips doesn't pay mr beast" it might just be a fraction of his earnings but they def pay him
They pay him a lot and where most of his revenue comes from.
And the payment he earns is from releasing a successful video. They aren't paying him squat if he got 0 views.
“Not even in his prime yet”. “What’s that guy going to be doing 10 years from now”. -Possibly listening to people say he’s old.
