I think the sample is so fitting because if you think about it, the dynamics of the relationship described in this song is enough to drive a person “Halfcrazy”. The constant pushing and pulling, bringing you up and then letting you down… it all takes a toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Him using “over and over” shows that this idea of going/being halfcrazy is like a never ending cycle.

He literally took musiq soul child half crazy song and turned it upside down into a deep mental aspect of what it feels like to try to move on from somebody instead going half crazy over somebody from losing them.
